Loved the Tasburgh!
from June07FamilyVacation
My family (husband, teenaged daughter, and I) visited the Tasburgh house in June 2007. We stayed in the Shelly Room for four nights and were very pleased with our stay. I believe my daughters comments upon arrival were "this is the best hotel I have ever stayed at" and "I wish I had a room like this at home." Our room and the hotel were very beautifully decorated and there was always tasteful music being played in the background of the lounge and sunroom. The Tasburgh is full of charm and the staff is incredible. They are always...

Terrible Tasburgh
from MrsMedders
tasburgh house hotel is most definitely not a hotel as they do not serve evening meals!! It is a very expensive b&b but even then they only provide a continental breakfast included in the price, a cooked breakfast with all the trimmings is £7.50, scrambled egg is £5 !! we stayed for two nights in the beginning of june with our 5 month old baby, so we definitely expected to be able to eat there at night instead of having to take her out in her pyjamas for dinner with us. there is a couple of lovely gourmet pubs a short drive away, the...

Lovely hotel but...
from Padfink
The plus points of the hotel were enormous. The owner was incredibly helpful on the phone when making a booking and the hotel itself was very luxurious. Fantasic beds, lovely linen, the whole hotel was spotless and the terraces and gardens were stunning. Breakfast is lovely (the continental breakfast is included but you have to pay if you want any additional cooked food eg bacon and eggs). Really a perfect english hotel. If you are a couple or a family then none of the following downsides would probably apply and the hotel would be perfect...

Booked Online but no room on arrival
from trappist
We arrived at the Tasburgh Hotel with a printed confirmation of booking from [---]. However the Proprietor said she had no record of our booking and stated 'It just goes to show that you can't trust the internet'. The Proprietor found us a hotel that she said was 4 miles outside Bath only to find it was 9 miles. This completely ruined our weekend as we had plans to go to a show and visit the Roman baths at night when illuminated. It would have been far too expensive to use taxi's from that far out. Parking in Bath is very limited. Both the...

special hotel - shame about breakfast cost
from couplefromlondon
We stayed at the browning room which was a very nice room and the hotel looks very special indeed. The only thing that left a bitter taste in our mounths was that we were charged for breakfast £5 each for an egg on toast, when my husband questioned it the reply was it is in the menu which we thought was unfair as we were told that breakfast was included. (only the food on the buffet was)and when Sue asked if we wanted something cooked she did not mention we would be charged for it. shame indeed!!!
Really nice B&B
from maurinho
We had a very clean room and even if the b&b is located a little bit outside the center of the town, it's just a 15 min walking far that during a sunny day, as we had, was also a pleasure. By the way you can always hire a cab to go back and you won't pay more than 5£. The owner was absolutely kind with us and really helpful, I've never met such kindness in any other b&b. I have to say that it is worth the 5 diamonds ratings (many people confuse it with a 5 star rating that is for an hotel....), our room was all new and fully...

So Close yet so far
from hotelbuff
Like so many people, we saw this hotel on the tv series hotel inspector. Whilst I dont normally react to a series I was impressed at the improvements the Proprietor had made and wanted to stay there. I tried to book the Shelley Room for me and my friend and the Wordsworth room for my mother however, the website was not very clear as to whether they accepted Amex so I had to send an email direct to the hotel and wait for a reply, unfortuntately by the time the email came the Shelley room has been booked and I had to select two rooms...

What a gem
from sutee
My sister and I have recently returned from a long weekend spent at the Tasburgh House. I spent a long time researching for just the right hotel. Having decided on the Tasburgh and being a particularly selective person I thought this hotel seemed to tick all the right boxes. I looked for high quality, situation and price. We were not disappointed. On the contrary, Tasburgh House exceeded all of our expectations. The owner Sue has impeccable taste when it comes to interior design and flair. On entry you are greeted with beautiful...

More a B&B than Hotel
from Shelmar
Myself, Husband and Sister-in-Law stayed in Tasburgh House for 2 nights. I had read some of the reviews beforehand and had high expectations. The house is beautiful and tastefully decorated. It is rated as a 4 star hotel, but it lacks some of the finer points you would get in 4 star hotel. On arrival our ensuite had no soap or shampoo, we brought this to their attention when we were going out, but on our return they were still not supplied and we had to ask again. Also I discovered next morning there was no hairdryer in the room, which I...

Lovely hotel - a very few minor quibbles
from pintpot
Stayed here for a couple of nights for a wedding and really enjoyed our stay - the hotel is nicely decorated and well situated, a pleasant 20 minute walk into town but that's a small price to pay given that it has parking, which is so difficult to find in Bath It's well decorated and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Gardens are lovely but at the time of writing there's some building work going on. Service is fantastic, but the only downside for me was that the facilities felt a bit stretched - it's really an upscale B&B but...
