Hatherley Manor

Booked the Hatherley Manor for one night during the week. My husband and I were there on business. We chose it as it looked one of the nicest hotels in the area. The reception were very friendly when booking, and also when checking in, we arrived about 2.15 pm. We were given a room practically at the other end of the hotel which wouldnt have been so bad if we hadnt gotten there only for the cleaning staff to tell us the room had not yet been cleaned. This hotel should be avoided at weekends, especially during the summer, when very noisy unsophisticated wedding receptions take place with music up to 1pm. Restaurant and bar prices totally over the top - captive audience. Not possible to open windows in downstairs rooms without serious security risk this results in hot stuffy rooms. Some rooms on first floor are remote and difficult to find. No lift. Acute shortage of twin bedded rooms. Restaurant dinner over cooked but breakfast OK. From the start of booking this weekend away with friends, the hotel staff could not have been more helpful, on booking the reception staff were so helpful, explaining the various room types available to us and offering to send out the brochure and more importantly directions on how to find the hotel, which is down a beautiful country lane. My husband and held our wedding and reception at Hatherley Manor. All our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was, and on the excellent food and service provided. The day ran smoothly and went without a hitch. All staff at the hotel are very friendly and accomodating. The hotel has recently been refurbished and it now extremely stylish but still retains its historical charm, just with all the mod cons. I had my wedding reception at this hotel. The staff were all lovely :) The food was A* value. It was all well presented and tasted great!! I can't fault any of the service that they provided us with. We stayed in the four poster suite- it was lush :) You should stay here without a doubt.

My husband and I have just returned from a five day visit to the Cotswolds, staying at Hatherley Manor (Macdonalds group). The excellent service and friendly manner of all staff, particularly receptionists and restaurant staff were refreshing and a credit to the hotel. My husband and I booked this hotel on lastminute for two nights. We were pleasently surprised when we arrived. The hotel has obviously been very recently refurbished and the public areas were immaculate. The decor is modern contempary, even though the external building is very old. We were there during two wedding receptions and numerous other functions. We were not disturbed by noise at any time. the hotel has just been refurbished and the rooms are superb. smart bathrooms, nice furniture nad new beds. the bar and lounge abd light and airy, the restaurant has just the right atmosphere for dinner. The staff are really friendly and helped us out with all our requests Highly recommended and we will definitly go back next year.

My wife and I and our 8 year old daughter booked a triple room for two nights at what appeared to be a stylish hotel in a charming part of England, or so the web site led us to believe.
