Very nice option on the Left Bank
from LT789
We recently stayed here for 5 nights, and would definitely return. Having never stayed on the Left Bank, we weren't sure what to expect, but we loved the location. Very convenient to the Metro, the Musee d'Orsay, Musee Rodin, even the Louvre, and especially to the Saint Germain-des-Pres area (where we spent most evenings). At the same time, the hotel's location on a small "side street" meant that it was very quiet. A great combination. The staff at the front desk and concierge were generally very good. Breakfasts were excellent,...

Fourth stay in one year - a few surprises
from nuc777
I have stayed at this hotel four times in the last year and I can recommend it with some reservations. First, the location is excellent, near the metro, lots of interesting shops and cafes, and a relatively quiet street. The hotel itself is very nicely appointed with a lot of attention to detail and very high quality furnishings (bedding, towels, etc..). The staff at the hotel are very friendly and seem to try to be helpful, but there are several points one should be aware of before committing to a stay. First, the heating/air...

Strange service
from ouch55
Beautiful hotel interior. Great service at the front desk. However the cleaning staff kept taking away one of the bath robes each day and not replacing it. Also the design of the room isn't well thought out in terms of use of space and the need for simple things like towel and robe hooks.
Great for adults and kids
from juabisam
I stayed at the Hotel Montalembert with my 6 year old daughter at the beginning of February. As I had booked online, I feared that we might be put in a small and inferior room as I had made it clear that I would be sharing with a child. On arrival, though, we were upgraded to a lovely deluxe room which overlooked the street and was very clean, quiet and spacious by Parisian standards. The staff at reception were very polite and couldn't do enough for us during our stay. I would thoroughly recommend it.
Loved the Montalembert
from Chatham24
I stayed at the Montalembert with a friend in December. We had a twin bedded Suite on the first floor and it was absolutely superb. Lovely entrance, loads of hanging space, safe, well stocked mini bar, very comfortable sitting room with excellent flat screen etc. The bathroom was lovely as well, lovely towelling robes, slippers, Molton Brown (one of my favourites) etc. The lavatory was separate - by the entrance door which was nice in some ways but meant bit of trape backwards and forwards, so to speak. When we returned our first...

Small rooms, nice location
from traveller55555
Montalembert is a modern design hotel in a nice area on Left Bank. It has the smallest hotel rooms I´ve ever seen and also the elevator was so tiny, that I think it must be the smallest elevator in the world! :) The view from the room was horrible and the room itself was´nt anything special as well. Another big dissapointment was breakfast - they charged 22 euro for 5 breads (not croissant or pain au chocolat, but just bread) and butter and tea and orange juice!!! The a la carte breakfast menu was very limited as well. Also they...

Great location and staff!
from DJSherpa
The location and service at Hotel Montalembert was excellent during our three day stay from December 27 - 30, 2006. Staff across the board spoke English and was surprisingly helpful. We did not use the F&B outlets in the hotel, except a pot of hot chocolate late at night in the Lobby Bar, which was served with a smile. We had the traditional room with fantastic antique furnishings, Frette Linnens and nice amenities. Considering the hotel rating and room price, peeling wallpaper in room corners and deteriorating grout in the bathroom floor...

J'adore le Montalembert- but check your bill for accuracy
from Sworn2Fun
The Montalembert could be hands-down my favorite hotel on the Left Bank. It's a stylish, Fashion Week type of hotel, but with a friendly demeanor that one would not see at the Costes, for instance. Rooms are small, but it's Paris, after all. The elevators are incredibly small as well- this is not a hotel for larger travelers. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you are a style-conscious traveler wanting a boutique feel, and you are tired of Andree Putman design and even more tired of the "tude at the Costes (and would rather stay...

nice hotel on the left bank
from jhtravel
Pros- location (near St Germain), very clean, nicely fitted out (if small room s but what not out of ordinary for Paris) , neutral and modern decor Cons- old teabag left in one of the jampots on breakfast tray (sloppy) , v.old and small lifts (not out of the ordinary for Paris but you may struggle with lots of luggage/baby pram)

Great location, nice staff
from Tropikal
As a fussy, travel snob I can say that we were very happy with our stay at the Montalembert. We have been to Paris before and were staying for 6 nights. Our room was on the 2nd floor on the back on the hotel, it was very quiet. The staff are very friendly, helpful and all speak English. The location is on a quiet side street off of St. Germain - a two minute walk to the 'Rue du Bac' Metro station, about 10 minute walk from all the shops and restaurants on St. Germain, and walking distance to the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay. We had...
