Prince de Galles Hotel

Stayed in this hotel recently and really loved it. We had to move from a different hotel (the other hotel was in a bad location - too far from everything) and so we asked if we could chk into this hotel early. They let us chk in at 11am. They also upgraded us to a beautiful junior suite. We had breakfast in the hotel which was decent but that was the only meal that we ate there so can't comment on the dining. Staff were friendly.

Stayed here with points, so can't complain about the room cost. The location is fantastic, minutes from metro station. Staff is very helpful, helped with all the restaurants reservations. But they recommended highend eateries even when we told them we want local fare. We have a room facing the side streets, and it's mainly quiet. Room & bathroom size are reasonable, with nice amenities, and didn't look that old either. There aren't much English channels on TV. Elevators are very very small. I stayed in this hotel for 10 days. The staff were very very nice. I took my 7 month daugther with me and they provided a crib and every single night they prepare the bed for my baby ready to sleep (very cute. The room is clean, but little bit old. The bathroom was very nice, clean and they have nice amenities. The location is very good also. Steps from the arc, eiffel tour, 4 or 5 stops on subway to louvre and orsay museum. Spend the most fantastic 2 night stay in this hotel. We had our 1 year old daughter with us on the trip and we found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was magnificantly french in design and we loved it!

We stayed at this hotel from Sept 19-24. The staff initially was friendly, the hotel had a nice but smallish lobby--the pictures appear to be larger than it is. We had a double bed room, and there were adjoining doors on each side that remained locked. There was a large window that opened to the street below which was nice because i must have my fresh air! Noisy on George V, so select an interior room if you prefer to get some sleep. We stayed Friday-Monday. The noise from the revelry on the Des Champs Elysees, tires pounding on the granite cobblestone and horns honking from heavy traffic made sleeping difficult. Sound proofing between rooms isn't great. Super Location, Kind Service, Hospitality, Very Bad Breakfast and nothing to do except sleeping in the Hotel.

We used a lot of SPG points and maybe we expected too much. We were upgraded to a deluxe room after some debate at the front desk. The room, though comfortable, did not seem deluxe for a 5-star property. There was alot of wear and the metal bits were in need of polishing. As someone posted, the shower curtain was a problem and actually came partially down twice. We did have a big balcony but with no chairs or table. While expensive this hotel is very well run and in a good location right next door to the Four Seasons. Good size rooms for europe and during the two occasions I have stayed at the Prince de Galles I have found everything one would expect in a luxury hotel - good service, quite well appointed rooms, and a wonderful breakfast.

My husband and I did a lot of research to find the perfect hotel in Paris for our short stay (only two nights.) We decided to give Prince de Galles a try (thankfully, we found a room for a very discounted rate.) My husband is a Starwood Gold member, so we were able to get an "upgraded" room.
