I, with experience of reading through many reviews, picked this hotel based on the family styled feel, the quiet location and the fact that there good reviews outweighed the bad by a massive margin. After having spent a week there, I can't imagine what kind of people are... more

My Partner and I stayed here from the 24th march to the 7th April. Although the hotel could do with a lick of paint and new carpets our room was o.k. The only fault with the rooms is there is no air conditioning, no fridge and no hair dryer. The Animation team are amazing... more

Not that good..
We stayed in the Interclub Atlantic in November this year for 1 week. Our first impression was of how slow they were at reception, there was loads of people all trying to get checked in at they just seemed to be taking it in their stride at their own snail pace. This was to be the pattern every time we had to go near reception through out the holiday. When my boyfriend my brother and I got to our hotel room, which was located on the ground floor of the first block, I was disappointed to see there was no Air Conditioning. Also the room was fairly run down, with dirty walls and some of the furniture in a bad state. It was extremely hot and humid, and we didn’t get much sleep at all that night, or most nights. Not to mention the extreme amount of traffic noise on the street that was to be our view from our room. My mum and dad were located in the room next to us, and the first night my mum lifted back her bed sheets she was greeted by a large dead cockroach. Nice. It turned out there was a lot of renovation going on whilst we were staying there, so there was an extreme amount of noise, it was like being on a building site at times! So much for a relaxing holiday! Between that and the M1 located beside our bedrooms, it was all a bit of a headache. Anyway, next day after a bit of exploration of the hotel grounds, we got back to our rooms and to my mum and dads surprise, their room was flooded! There must have been a sewage leak as the entire carpet and floor was absolutely soaking, and the smell of urine was over powering. They immediately went to reception when they were told to go back to the room a maid would be along to clean it up. Yeah like a mop and bucket could do that, the place was drenched with sewage! Not satisfied with this they asked to be moved to a different room, and finally were given another key to a different room, although it nearly killed them to part with it. So I went with mum to check out the new room, which was quite far away from mine and also on the ground floor. As soon as we entered it, the smell of urine slapped us across the face! Although the room looked clean, and was fully floor tiled as if it had just been renovated. But the smell of urine was overpowering! I said to mum that there was no way they were staying in those conditions and we went back to the reception, where they tried to ignore that we were even standing there. So we got a hold of our travel rep and she chatted to them and got a key to another room –which thankfully didn’t smell of urine and was clean. We were absolutely disgusted with the way we were treated at reception, it was like they really didn’t want to help us at all. Food was ok, quite repetitive though, especially drawing towards the end of this week. Breakfast consisted of the fattiest bacon I have ever seen in my entire life. The “sausages” were pink frankfurters, obviously to cater for the large German clientele. Oh and there were chips for breakfast too. There was a good selection of fresh fruit and breads, cereals and that though. Lunches and evening meals were ok, a bit hit and miss though at times. The grounds of the hotel were quite nice, with loads of space to lounge in the sun. Pools were great too, although could have been cleaner. The maids that cleaned our rooms were very nice and friendly also. Entertainment was just terrible, I cant describe what tripe it was, it was that bad. We had more fun sitting outside beside the pool bars in the evenings without the racket of the so-called entertainment in our ears. Beware the steps down to the beach, it may seem ok going down them, but going up is another story, being extremely fit is a definite requirement. Despite the downfalls though, we had a good holiday, and the weather for the time of the year was wonderful, but we will definitely not return to the IFA Interclub Atlantic, and would not recommend this place to anybody.
Dreadful
We went to this hotel for a week in July. It was a fairly last minute booking for myself, my husband and our teenage daughter. We knew almost as soon as we arrived that it was not what we hoped for. The reception staff were helpful at first. The food was very repetitive and not a lot of choice for a veggie! The room was clean and a very good size, though the bed settee was not very comfortable. Unfortunately we arrived along with the plague of cockroaches. Admittedly this was no one's fault and the hotel staff did everything they could to keep the numbers down. We were told to keep our windows closed to keep them out and for security. This was nearly impossible as there is no air-con in the rooms and it was like being in a sauna. Fans were only supplied at extra cost. Their was no hospitality in the rooms and trying to get tea or coffee was almost impossible. The only way was to hire a kettle and 'steal' from the dining room. We were the unlucky ones who got a room at the front of the hotel, near the busiest road in the world and just across from the bottle banks. The noise from mopeds, lorries and coaches was not conducive to a great deal of sleep. There was no comfortable bar area to have a quiet drink so we went most nights to a small bar over the road where the bar owner, Mercedes was wonderful and welcoming and spoke just about every language under the sun. The hotel caters mainly for German and French tourists but we happened upon another English couple and a single traveller who were equally disillusioned - we were the lucky ones as we only booked a week. The holiday brochure states that the hotel is 400m from the beach, but be warned that this is vertical. Needless to say we won't be going back. WARNING- when approached by anyone carrying scratchcards run as fast as you can in the opposite direction. They are all cons - take it from someone who knows.
good problems and bad problems
this holiday is actually one of the worst holidays ive had but yet the best if u understand me, arriving off the airplane our reps airtour where there to guild us to the bus, then one of the reps informed us that it wood only be the bus driver taking us to our hotels as there were more planes arriving from the uk and they needed to be there. the hotel its self was lovely if only it had more english peolple, the reception people where very ignorant and it felt like if you were english you wouldnt get any where with them. the food was ok, the chinese section was the best, but food was left overs for breakfast and so on. rooms well if you go to this hotel make sure that you make it a point to tell them that you dont want the ground floor, even though i could go on and on im not going to because even though there was so much wrong with this place i still manage to enjoy my self. a pity though that the all inclusive had to stop at 11. animation team were ok but again not aimed at the english. met a few people from england and scotland can i say what a delight really nice people. the disco was good but had to ask dj t put english music on but when doing so that was all you heard till end of the night. a few nice looking guys for the young ones the night security guard, martyn from the animation team and salvotor from animation team. oh yes and if you book with airtours make sure you keep about 35 euro because our bus didnt come to pic us up to take us to the airport so we had to get taxi. when confronted why they didnt pick us up the started getting gobby. anyway if you do go to this hotel just make sure there is a crowd of you so you can actually interact wit each other. but i suppose it was fun considering all the complaints i have put down, thats only because a holiday is what you make it.
Disappointing after reading some of the reviews
At the top of a long hill (also a dead end), there is hardly any parking available for the necessary hire car (necessary unless you use taxis). You can spend ages like a fish circling round a goldfish bowl waiting for a space appear.. Unfortunately, the Island gets fabulously hot weather, and air-conditioning in your bedroom is a must. The Atlantic doesn´t have air-con in bedrooms, so suffer at will ! The food is ok if you like pasteurised thinly sliced spam and cheese, pizzas, fatty bacon and chips. Some of the fish dishes were nice though and there is a selection of salads and local fruit. The food is average and you won´t catch sight of a prawn unless you visit some other restaurant. There are lots of cockroaches roaming after dark (I killed a couple in the dining room, but mostly you see them on footpaths around the hotel). Lovely swimming pools and gardens, but the internet is available for nearly three quid an hour. Can´t leave without describing the "entertainment" - puerile rubbish. Parrots, miming to songs and "Mr and Mrs " competitions.
Interclub Experience July 2006
Interclub is a german owned hotel and therefore german and french guests are predominant. On arrival we were allocated a room which we were unhappy with as it smelt badly of cigarette smoke. We went back to reception who were fine and happy to move us, however as we arrived in the early hours of the morning another room would not availalbe until the following morning. When we went back to reception we were given a choice of rooms - staff really helpful. We travelled with Airtours - sorry but the rep was not the best. The welcome meeting consisted of the obligatory tour of the island and literature on Airtours trips out. However she forgot to tells us about the facilities within the hotel etc. Main meals are served in the restaurant 3 times per day - they are ok but by week 2 it becomes a bit repetative - pasta, pizza, chips, noodles and rice. During our second week we did opt to eat out several times as did most of the people we got freindly with. Snacks are extremely basic and not very plentiful so don't reply on these. All drinks stop at 11pm and the pumps for the soft drinks turn off too. The only place to get a drink after this time is in the nightclub and you have to pay for them here. The plus side is there is a fridge in the superior rooms and a spar shop at the bottom of the hill. Sunbeds - you are not permitted to reserve sunbeds - yet they have all been taken by 8am in the morning. The best time to secure your pitch is 5am and even then don't be surprised if someone has moved your towels because they want your beds - this lead to some fiery arguments!! All in all an ok basic all inclusive - not the best and Airtours could do better. The Supercat cruise is great - all food and drink included along with an on board hot tub. Maspalomas is lovely in the evening and only about 5 euros by taxi. Some nice bars and restaurants here on the sea front. Be aware of the Timeshare touts and so called holiday club schemes - you will be approached where ever you go. Do not give them the time of day. Will not be returning to Interclub and this seemed to be the general sensus of opinion between the british guests.
Absolutely Fantastic Holiday!!!!!!
We returned back to England on 16th July having spent 2 week at IFA interclub. We arrived at the hotel at 2am - we were the only people to get off the coach which is a bit worrying as we thought they would be more with it been a big hotel. Anyway we went in, the reception was lovely and clean and the staff were really friendly. The hotel has 3 swimming pools - 1 just for children and two bigger ones, it also has 3 jacuzzi's. The hotel is well sought after, they took great pride in cleaning it, making sure the pools were clean and the palm trees weren't too big to stop you sunbathing :-) We stayed in the Tara block, which is above Bora Bora (the nightclub) but it didn't bother us at all. Although we did see a few people moving to one of the other blocks. On the first day after a long lazy day by the pool we went back to the room to get cleaned up, only to find the shower didn't work and we also didn't have a plug. We went to reception to report it and they were fantastic about it. They sent somebody up to fix it within 5-10 mins. The food was absolutely fantastic - i am a fussy eater especially with meat but i always found something different to eat that i liked. The hotel caters for everyone, they have salad, pasta, pizza, chips, different meat, fish, chinese food, fruit, cereal, toast, different types of bread, cakes etc. The drink selection was fantastic too. The beer they had on tap was 'Dorado' which was really nice. They also had different cocktails, white, red and rose wine on tap, spirits, soft drink, juice and water. The entertainment staff were also fantastic, my boyfriend got on really well with them and also even took part in a drag show called 'Dancing Queen' which is a great show. The entertainers work so hard with all the entertainment they offer through the day and also they shows they do on a night. There isn't alot of english people, mainly German, Spanish, French but it was nice to be away from the loud English ha ha. We did get talking to a few english people which was really nice. We do recommend the 'Supercat cruise' it was lovely, we got a really nice tan, everyone on there were english and its all inclusive. Only thing you do have to pay for is crisps/ice creams and photos/keyrings that they take when you first get on. They stop to let you go for a swim in the sea. It was good to just lay the chair back and listen to the music and chill out. Also we went out in Playa Del Ingles, it was a really good night although the bar staff are very pushy and you do get drunk easily hehe. It is a gay capital but we still had a good time and it only cost 5 euros to get there. We are booking to go back next year but as a group so shows how much of a amazing holiday and hotel it was. We really do recommend it. Although it not that practical for disabled people - although the hotel its self does cater for them very well and there was a few people there in wheelchairs the location isn't perfect but that didn't bother us with only been young.
!!!BRILL!!! perfect holiday
hi landed back in england 7th july 2006 the holiday was BRILL the moment we arived the hotel staff could not do enough to help us chek in with out a big que. Very large grounds that have 3 jucuzzi's spent lots of time in there 2 large pools and 40" pool for kids. With a family holiday its nice to have it all in one place well here it is at the kids pool you have large shelterd area's if you get over heated kids play park so if they get board with water then they have that. The bonus is for us grown ups we feel like lounging around well if you sat looking at the pool 10 yards behind you is the play park and as you look forward over the pool you can see for miles all the way to the sand dunes to your left would the bar and loo's so no need to move any were. We walked from hotel to playa de ingles it took us 1 hour at slow pace FOOD well what can i say we ate lots but you would not beleve the variaty and the food is cooked within 15 mins of eating it in front of you so you know its fresh we tryed it all and NO sickness bugs or what we all fear upset tummys IF YOU CARN'T RATE THIS HOLIDAY AS EXCELENT THEN IT WOULD NOT BE THE HOTEL OR THE GROUNDS THEY ARE JUST PERFECT WE ARE BOOKING 2007 THERE ON MONDAY SO THAT SHOWS HOW WE LIKED IT
nice hotel
Just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel. my family and i found the hotel very pleasant, clean and the pools were fabulous. the food was very good with different varieties on offer, i did find the water warm but still drinkable. The entertainment team worked really hard morning till night, been better if there were a variety of different acts each night and the bars stayed open later they closed on the dot at 11oclock, unless you went to the disco bora bora which stayed open later there was nothing else to do and you had to pay for your drinks then as the AI finished at 11oclock. Beware of the reb just selling their deals, we booked tickets to parimito park and thought we were getting a good deal by getting a euro off each ticket, but had to get the bus costing 18 euros for five of us. Then found out otherwards the hotel do a deal where you get free bus included in their package. We were not happy about that as we had two elder members of the family who found the walk to the bus stop very hard going in the heat.so check with hotel before booking excursions. Taxis very cheap wish we has found out sooner and plenty of them outside hotel. Would return again.
Loads to Do!!
I stayed at this hotel in December for a week with my Mum (47) and my cousin (25). On arrival we were given a swipe card for our room in Tamara (I think) bloack and the room was on the ground floor, being just 3 females we asked to be mvoed to a higher floor. We had to wait 2 nights before another room became available. Food was ok for a 3*. A great choice and even the fussiest eaters could find something. Drinks were fantastic if you like a drink, measures were massive!! We were on an all inclusive basis. The weather was great for the week that we were there and was very odd to see the staff putting up the Christmas Tree and decorations when yo have your bikini and sun lotion on. Loads of praise has to be given to the Animation Team (especially Monica) who are the mosrt hard working people I have ever met. They have everyting going from Aerobics, water aerobis, football, darts etc etc and not forgetting their famous cocktail games.(No drink involved) I was crowned the cocktail queen having won on 5 occasions!! The cocktail dances were also fantastic with everone lines up at the side of the poor on on the stage in the evening. We took part in everything. Night time entertainment was not that good, shows were a bit time consuming having to be in about 5 different languages. At one point we were the only people cheering for UK being the only British in the complex. The pools and jaccui were great, a bit cold at first to get into but once you were in you were fine. Came back with a great tan for a December holiday. Would definately stay here again!! Hope this helps.
Pleasant, but quiet
Hotel was nice, basic but clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool and surrounding gardens and grouds lovely, exceptionally well kept and looked after. Maid service every day with sheets changed twice in one week. Saw one cockroach the whole week on the last day as hotel kept very clean. Food and drink was self service as we went on AI basis. Drink was plentiful and had no problems. Still water however was not kept cold like other soft drinks, therefore drank fizz all week. Food was good. Excellent variety at all meals, with it always being fresh and hot. Entertainment directed at kids, very little for adults. Predominantly couples and family resort as surounding area very quiet with nothing to do even at walking distance. Otherwise a pleasant and relaxing stay.
