My Family of 4 stayed in this hotel...
4 / 10
Sep 2007, Mr R Mears

My Family of 4 stayed in this hotel for a week’s all inclusive this September.
Location is situated in the middle of nowhere with the nearest Spar shop about 800 meters away. The beach is ok if you like the dark sand type and rocks. San Augustin is a poor place to visit if you’re after shopping.
The Hotel is fine if you like hotel life as there is little else around it. The Grounds are very nice and well kept.
FOOD: Nice but make sure you get there early, as there are always a few greedy people who eat all the nice stuff like they have never been fed.
Pool is great for kids and adults. Entertainment is ok but don't expect a west end show. Rooms clean big and looked after, BUT don't expect to be treated well with regards to keeping your room if you have a late flight booked! We tried 5 or 6 Times to get an answer if we could keep it and at the last safe moment they said NOT POSSIBLE without checking.
Thanks when we have a 0400hrs flight and have to be out the room at 1100hrs the day before. Don't expect any help from the reception staff as we found them little or no help and quite arrogant. (My family and I are not hard to please but a bit of politeness would be nice).
Beer seemed watered down, wine seemed watered down, self service for most drinks and one barman on at a time for the other drinks. Snacks seemed to be hit and miss and were mainly on when more Spanish people came to the hotel?
Overall we won't be going back thanks.

Aug 2007, Mrs LH Harvey

This was the first time I went all inclusive. One of the main disadvantages was due to the entertainment; the majority of this was in German.
Secondly, the bar staff and some of the reception staff were rather unhelpful and not able to speak good English. My radio didn’t work in my room and when I reported this, I was told it never does; there was no air conditioning to my horror either.
Overall, the hotel was a bit shabby and my view was facing a construction site!
However...the gardens surroundings the hotel were beautiful, with the pools cleaned out daily.
The food although plentiful was good; however this was a bit repetitive!
Therefore, not a hotel I would visit again!

Jul 2007, Miss C Pretty

We had a good time the complex was great and tour reps were extremely helpful.
However the food was very repetitive, ok if you like burgers and pizza and we found the eating area quite cramped, especially if you like to eat quite late.
The bar shut at dead on 11 which was a pain as there was only one bar person on so u spent most of the night queuing for your drinks.
Although we were all inclusive we wandered into the local town for meals and drinks which were pleasant.
Don't expect too much and you'll have a fabulous time

The hotel was very clean and the food...

Jul 2007, Mr R Culley

The hotel was very clean and the food was always cooked. My and my Girlfriend went for a relaxing week's holiday in the Interclub Atlantic Hotel.
When we first arrived it look's terrible, but the second you enter the actual hotel ground's all was nice. The food was ok but if you’re like me and you like you’re Indian and strong flavoured food you will probably find the food in the hotel a bit bland.
We could always find a table within the hotel restaurant and the service was excellent.
The taxi's is San Agustin are very cheap and in all honesty the service you receive from the drivers is excellent, the taxi's are always outside the hotel and are prepared to take you anywhere. The most expensive taxi ride was €10.00 which took us to Aqua land (water park).
The only downside to the hotel was the maid service, if your like me and you like all your belonging's to be private and not moved around the room then you probably wouldn’t like the service either.
I read allot of reviews on this hotel before I went and in all honesty just remember it is a 3* hotel and it doesn’t claim to be any more. It’s a nice hotel and I don't think I would go back but it was a nice holiday and I enjoyed myself, our hotel package was around £1,000.00 for both of us and it was worth.
I have also been to many all inclusive hotels and this one I feel is one that is above average.
Hope this helps, if you are going to The Interclub Atlantic I hope you have a nice time.

Firstly, do not go here if you want a...

Jul 2007, Mrs A Sommerville

Firstly, do not go here if you want a quiet night’s sleep or if you are a vegetarian.
We had a lovely big, clean room with a balcony overlooking the street (Los Jazmines) but for the whole fortnight neither of us managed to get a decent night’s sleep without being woken several times which ruined the whole holiday.
As the hotel was 98% occupied there was not much option for changing rooms and I don't think it would have made any difference anyway.
The hotel is located at the top of a cul de sac in what appears to be a quiet residential area but there was a constant stream of traffic going up and down all night (where were they all going?) Spanish Hotel guests stayed up all night laughing and talking on their balconies then at 5am the clubbers returned and decided to start rearranging the furniture in their rooms.
I dread to think how families coped with young children. I complained once to reception and they said they would send security up to sort it out but I don't think it made any difference.
Mealtimes were absolute chaos - the place is just too big - everyone getting in each other’s way and queuing to even get to see what was on offer. The food was typical hotel fodder - frozen or tinned veg and forget it if you are vegetarian or vegan - they don't understand what one is!
They are obsessed with putting meat in everything - beef in cold pasta salad, tuna in potato salad and the rice salad, they even put meat in the traditional veggie Canarian dish - ropa vieja - which is supposed to be a chick pea and potato stew!
There was an obsession with chips, Chinese and bland pasta and pizzas which we found unimaginative and although the sauce was served on the side they often put meat in that too.
Everything was cold by the time you got it back to the table to eat. The best thing was the selection of fruit - the oranges were lovely and the salad bar.
Nothing is labelled though so you have no idea what you are eating - the bread was stale, juices were a watered down sugary concentrate from a machine and the coffee was undrinkable - again from a machine - which kept breaking down and at one point we were provided with one microwave for the whole restaurant to make hot drinks with!
The receptionists were brilliant - they were really helpful and could speak so many different languages.
We ate out quite a bit - managed to find a nice Indian Restaurant - Dayana in Playa Del Ingles and probably the only veggie place on the whole island - Hipocrates near the cathedral in Las Palmas.
Just as well really as this is the only allegedly 'All inclusive' hotel I know where they don't provide a packed lunch if you want to go out for the day.
The bar closes at 11pm and you can't get a hot drink during the day apart from meal times! You could hire a coffee machine but for 19 Euros you might as well buy one! Spar shop was 5 mins walk down the bottom of the street and bus stops 10 mins walk down to the roundabout if you have to escape which we had to do most days - beach only 10 mins away also - not as busy as Playa del Ingles and used more by the locals than tourists so not so commercialised as the horrible Del Ingles and the totally ruined Puerto Rico.
The pool was lovely though - nice and clean and well maintained but beware the smell of drains near the paddling pool area! Puerto De Mogan is a pretty unspoilt fishing village worth a trip to and the best way to see the mountains is by jeep safari.
Didn’t enjoy Thomas Cooks excursion on the Sea CAT which was meant to be a relaxing cruise along the coast - only room for 6 people to sunbathe and Ibiza anthems blasting out at full volume courtesy of the posers sailing the boat with their girlfriends.
All this for 40 Euros - we discovered a cheaper, better trip afterwards - I suggest you shop around and book your own excursions - the tour operators ones are a rip off.
Had a lovely excursion up into the mountains with LAST MINUTE trips and a VIP behind the scenes look at a beautiful butterfly farm called MONARCHA. Enjoyed Palmitos Park and feeding the monkeys at Cocodrilo Park - the only animal sanctuary on the island which relies on donations as they get no government help.
We found there wasn't really enough to keep us fully occupied for two weeks and found it very frustrating trying to find our way to some of the nicer unspoilt areas.
I don't think we will be returning.

It was great. The hotel is really nice and they have lots of places to go and the taxi is really cheap.
The food is really good and the entertainment is good for the children and the adults at night.
I really loved it. If you want to go anyway in Gran Canaria in San Agustin go to that hotel they are lovely people, so go there!

Just had a week at IFA Interclub....
6 / 10
Jun 2007, Mrs H Stewart

Just had a week at IFA Interclub. Went with two friends for relaxing break, and that’s what we had. Apartment was lovely, had small lawn with sunbeds joined to balcony.
The restaurant was very big and the food was lovely. We were spoilt for choice every day and there was something different every day. You could help yourself to drinks as well. I miss it already!
The pools are beautiful and as they say --are heated as I don’t like cold water but the pool was lovely to get in and still cooled us down from the very hot sun. The Jacuzzi also was lovely the temp in it was cooler than pool but not enough to take your breath away when you get in it.
The weather was lovely and I did get burnt with factor 20 after spending nearly all day out on sunbeds so get high factor!
Went to Palmitos Park one day which is a big parrot park about 40 minutes drive away in mountains. Cost us about 15 Euros in taxi each way, we didn’t fancy waiting for buses.
It was an enjoyable day lots of walking and loads of beautiful parrots.
Although we didn’t need any shops on all inclusive, the nearest shop is a Spar shop down the hill about 15 minutes walk. We went to the Yumbo centre one evening in playa Del ingles. Didn’t get there till about 9.45pm so if you want to browse the shops go earlier than that. It cost about 6 Euros in taxi.
Overall we had a lovely holiday; we had good weather and certainly a relaxing break.

This was a nice relaxing holiday for...

Jun 2007, Mr S Gander

This was a nice relaxing holiday for me and my girlfriend. However, this hotel has some good and bad points.
Firstly, the swimming pool and the surrounding areas is superb and the entertainment is really good, especially Aurelia who gets everyone in a good mood. The food is OK, but a bit like Groundhog day, Chinese food every night, followed by rice, chips, and pizza.
Secondly, the all inclusive drinks are very average, and the cocktails are watered down from a machine. However, the moody barman will pour loads of spirits in your drink if you ask for vodka, gin, brandy etc. I didn't like the fact that only one barman serves you when there is a massive queue and if it is 1 minute past 11pm then he decides to shut the bar.
Moreover, the club BORA BORING is open and is pretty shocking, except on Friday nights.
The last day we had to check out of our room by 12pm and were promised we could keep our room on until later if we paid. But they did not allow this saying the Hotel was full and we along with other couples and families complained to reception staff that really couldn't care less about our situation.
So they laid on a courtesy room where you and your partner had 30 minutes to have a shower and get changed. Ridiculous!
Overall, I would say this is a good holiday, but the hotel itself is too far away from anything if you want to escape it. A taxi to playa del ingles is only 4 Euros although watch out for the touts as they all Tunisian and African and generally push you in the bars and clubs.

Just returned home from the Interclub...

May 2007, Mr D Murray

Just returned home from the Interclub Atlantic.
Positives. The pool area and gardens were beautiful. The room was spotless (Tara block top floor). Food fine. Plenty of choice but a bit repetitive. Daytime animation team were good, especially Aurelia.
Negatives. Nightime entertainment for adults is poor. Noise at night outside Tara/Tirma block can be loud. No air con in rooms. You can pay for portable one at reception.
Choice of spirits limited.
Overall. A pleasant holiday was had. The walk to the beach is not hard and the sand is black because this is a volcanic island. People have moaned about German/French etc guests. If you don’t like it then stay and holiday in the UK.

May 2007, Miss S Stickland

Well I stayed at this hotel I think it was 20th till the 27th? I went with my mum dad and family we had three rooms between us, they were all very clean and big.
The bathrooms looked like they were new I stayed in the Tara building I think it was the one above Bora Bora - Bora boring as we called it. From the reviews earlier you cannot hear the disco below.
The food is really good had something different every night!
When we stayed there the pools were not exactly warm, but they were alright to cool down in after a sunbathing session.
It was really warm and sunny when we went but really windy it was warmer than what I thought it was going to be so that was a bonus.
The only reason I’ve given it a 9/10 was because my mum had her phone stolen and the reception staff didn’t speak very good English, so didn’t understand however the rep sorted.
Even though we didn’t get the phone back so if there is anyone who nicked the phone you should be feeling really stupid as it was contract lol.
Well I would stay here again if I ever came back and I would recommend it to anyone!
Have a good holiday!

May 2007, Mrs K G

Just got back and had a fantastic time. Food was great, room was great, and grounds were amazing.
Everything needed for a quiet holiday is available at the hotel. Three pools/three bars/mini club/restaurant.
My vegetarian partner managed to eat every day and we chose to eat at the hotel rather than go out - it really was that nice.
Fresh salad/bread/fruit/freshly cooked meat/Chinese counter open for the evening meal/pizza/pasta - the list goes on.
Drinks measures are very large - try the honey rum its lovely.
Clubs/shopping/bars/restaurants aren't available in San Agustin but taxi only around 4 Euros to main town if you want to go out.
Although not listed on the website a range of items are available for hire (at quite reasonable prices) including air con, fans, heaters, iron, microwave, hairdryer etc, the list was long!
I would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday.

May 2007, Mrs SA Loveday

Very clean overall. Large pool area that is very well kept with nice grassy areas surrounding.
Was in apartment facing the pool and away from the disco (which other reviews made sound as if was very loud but it wasn’t!). Actually the "disco" as they called it was simply a room with a dj and one bar staff and no customers! Was probably the time of the year!
The evening entertainment was great for the kids but shocking if you’re an adult but this did not ruin the holiday as plenty of bars to go to a short taxi ride away.
Don’t be fooled into thinking that the only place to drink outside the entertainment hall is the five tables and chairs; you are welcome to go to the top pool bar for drinks in the evening (which we didn’t realise until the last night!).
The food was ok, you will end up craving your home food, but overall not bad. Got very samey and that was only one week!
The All Inclusive bar measures are massive and three will make you extremely merry!
There isn’t really anything to do in San Agustin and the beach is not that great. However taxis are very cheap.
Overall I really enjoyed myself and my surroundings!
