We went on a girls holiday and the hotel was fab. The food was really good and fresh.
Entertainment during the day was top notch they had a really enthusiatic team that got you up and about and who were really friendly. Everyday we partook in Water Polo, Archery, Aqua Aerobics and other stuff infact we spent more time during the day at the hotel pool than we did at the beach.
Most evenings we went to Playa del Ingles which cost 5 Euros and taxis were always available. So I can not comment on the evening entertainment however we did watch the snake show which was great!!! There appeared to be lots to do for the kids.
I would definately recommend this hotel. The only thing that let the holiday down was Thomas Cook Airlines- They pack you in on the planes and quite a few people were groaning about leg room, me included.

Just got back from a week in IFA Interclub Atlantic in San Agustin all inclusive. The hotel itself was quite good although not enough english guests at the time for my liking considering it was quite a big hotel (mostly german). Pools, food and gardens were best features but let down badly by the location and the fact that you could not get a drink after 11pm without going to "disco" which was not included in the all inclusive package. The only other place to get a drink was a little german bar opposite which wasn't good either and even the many germans in our hotel didn't go there. You could get a taxi for approximately five euros to Playa Del Ingles but that was the other end of the scale a bit like a scaled down version of Magaluf. It is a long walk to the beach or you have to negotiate lots of steep steps. We went with two young kids and evening entertainment was quite bad. All in all I would consider using an IFA hotel again but it would have to be in another location and I would check the bar arrangements first.

Broadly in agreement with Mr K Barron. We're a couple of 60+ year olds who spent 2 weeks there in June 2008 with friends and were pretty well satisfied with everything.
Staff and service (insofar as we had any contact with them) were A1. Rooms are large, well serviced and comfortable in the 3-story, front "Gracioisa" block. Particularly liked the walk-in wardrobe/storage room where everything not required could be out of sight and you could make an early morning cup of tea for the balcony. Although the street is noisy when traffic passes by we got used to it after the first couple of nights.
The well maintained grounds are well maintained and beautiful, paths being swept with mini cleaning machines and the pools are large and well designed for all ages. There's a pool bar down near the open-air stage and a higher level terrace bar where snacks can be obtained too. The self service arrangements for tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks, wine and beer are excellent with little abuse being observed. Mixer drinks are available from the bar and use the usual lower-strength local varieties of spirits. Sensible when you consider the tumbler-sized quantities served and after all you don't want to overdo things do you?
Food is plentiful and of good quality, especially the sirloin steaks which were very tender each time. Beware though that you'll overload your plate and put on weight like I did so get out for some exercise too.
The young entertainment staff work their socks off all day and in the evening often perform on stage as well. Full marks to them for their efforts (especially Francesca whose "Applauso!" you'll soon become familiar with!) but I would perhaps have preferred slightly more in the way of pro-entertainment. There was a parrot show, a snake show and best of all a Mexican show with really excellent beautifully dressed ladies and gentlemen dancers.
The nearest beach, of darkish sand, is accessed down a steep flight of 152 steps, or a longer walk down the road. The walk to the busy front at Playa des Ingles and Maspalomas sand dunes is just under 3 miles along the beach front path and is recommended, (albeit hot at midday of course...28-31C when I did the return journey) By bus that would have been about 4 Euros return per person but taxis are better value for 2 people at 8-10 Euros return as they take you door to door rather than to a bus stop 15 minutes walk away downhill from the hotel. When they're not actually driving drivers seem to spend their time cleaning and polishing their taxis which are always spotless inside.
There's a supermarket 10 mins from the hotel and that's about it until you walk another 10 or 15 minutes to a small shopping centre. More shops are in Playa des Ingles but avoid the Jumbo Centre (like the Barras in Glasgow but with pestering sales-people and the same shops repeated over and over ad-nauseum) or the market (no cheaper than the shops)
If you go on the round-the-island excursion as we did be prepared for really twisty, narrow alpine-like roads for mile after mile. If you're at all inclined to motion sickness forget that one. Spectacular scenery though and well worth it.
All in, an excellent, self-contained hotel in a quiet location but with easy access to the main resort if you need it. This was our first experience of the Canary Islands and we will return there and would even do so to this hotel.

Just returned this morning from a week at Interclub Atlantic Hotel.
Read the reviews before going and very glad I decided to trust the better ones!
Personally I think ratings of 9 & 10 are unrealistic so i'll try and be more critical.
My ratings for the whole holiday:
Airport transfer 20mins......10/10
Hotel reception good..........9/10
Room okay (no aircon, okay in June will be tough July & August. Only one English TV channel BBC World News)...7/10
Maid service every day.......9/10
Pools and jacuzzi's great.....9/10
Bathing area good, plenty of sun loungers and room, nice trees and flowers, even some noisy parrots eating the palm tree fruit 8/10
Daytime entertainment, everyday a variety of tournaments including Shuffleboard, Petanque, Rifle shooting, Archery, darts, table tennis. Also Aerobics, water aerobics, water polo, water volleyball, football and volleyball. 8/10
Tennis courts and scuba diving at additional cost.
Kids entertainment can't comment on.
Evening entertainment basic show...6/10
Disco 11pm on, didn't go..n/a
Breakfast, good hot & cold selection and lots of fresh fruit 8/10
Lunch, good salads, hot mains (always fish, a couple of meats, pizzas, pastas. Not great for veggies you could probably ask for a veggie main), fresh fruit, Kids selection, always cakes and ice cream for dessert..........8/10
Dinner, as for lunch with a chinese option...8/10
Snacks available a times thoughout the day, Pizza, burgers, hotdogs, meats and cheeses, cake, ice cream etc......6/10
Drinks, beer & soft dring self service from morning till 11.00pm, spirts available from bars....8/10
Checkout, must leave your room by 12.00, we were picked up at 23.05 and only had use of a room from 16.30-17.00 (book the room early at reception to get a good slot!) .....6/10
Location, quiet area about 400 meters from beach down steep steps (must be fairly fit to get back up!), 20min walk from San Agustin centre, few miles from Playa Del Ingles & Maspalomas dunes (5 euros in taxi). 7/10
A very mixed variety and nationalities, Spanish, German, Portugese, Dutch, Italian, French, Russian, Polish and more. Personally I liked this as there were no rowdy embarrassing drunk British parties!
Overall a great holiday, would recommend the hotel to couples with children, quieter couples and reasonably mobile olders holidaymakers, party animals would need to get a taxi to the big disco's.
The hotel was noticably getting busier when we left so it might be more crowded at meal times and sun bathing in peak season. Also i was surprised there was no Aircon in the rooms - could get uncomfortable.
Overall rating 7/10 maybe 8!

We have just come back from a lovely week at this hotel. We was all a bit apprehensive on arriving there after reading loads of bad reviews. The front of the hotel does look a bit scruffy and as the coach was driving past we was thinking what have we let ourselves in for! But once inside the reception area and after we found our room all the scruffiness was forgotten!! The rooms were spacious and even the shower was quite decent! The grounds to relax and sunbath in and the pool area was kept really nice. There were plenty of sunbeds and lots of shaded areas as well. We spent all our time round the Kids pool as my 2 year old nephew was with us. The location of the kids pool was perfect. The mini club and play area was situated just behind the pool, so it made it our lives easier as we had to keep him occupied all day! oh and the bar was a 30 second walk away!
There was always plenty of food in the restaurant and the food was always hot. There was quite a few different things to choose from, although it was mostly the same every night. There was never a problem getting drinks in the evening or during the day and we also never went hungry! The evening entertainment was in a word, crap! But as the drinks are free you might as well stay and watch it!
The only downside is the location of the hotel. There is nothing in San agustin except hotels and the trek down to the beach is fine but the walk back up the steps is a killer! There were also lots of spanish there at the weekends, they do seem to take over a bit. You may have to get up a bit ealier if you want to get your favourite sunbeds!
I would go back to the hotel as it was well worth the money and very childfriendly!

This hotel is exactly what you would expect by not spending a lot on the holiday in the first place .( you get what you pay for ).
I have given it a 3 purely for the pool & garden areas as for the rest it could only be described as a spanish travelodge a poor one at that . I read previous write-ups but thought not everyones opinion is the same what a mistake to make . Shoddy balconys, tiling in the bathroom & radios that dont work, although they give you a pamphlet to list any problems but then tell you you cant have the radio fixed . Staff are nothing special meals are nothing special( i have never seen so many variations of minestrone soup) and come the weekend the place is taken over by locals on low cost weekend breaks . You then have to wait to see how many of them book-in before they will tell you if you can keep your room. (only kept it because it was somewhere to shower & change) As we were not interested in any of thomas cooks trips then by all accounts the rep was not interested in us (some who did book trips didn't make them because they were'nt picked up) On the whole i am glad it wasn't my main holiday . A good restaurant SILOS close to the yumbo centre .

My wife, my 2 children and myself have just returned from a weeks holiday along with other members of the family totalling a party of 12 and we can not fault the hotel in any way. We enjoyed it that much we are already planning to return next year. Plenty of choice in food with chinese, italian, local foods and less adventurous choices on offer every night, this comfortably catered for our large group. The whole complex was kept clean and tidy by the staff and the rooms were excellent.

Just returned from a weeks stay at the interclub atlantic and it was overall very good. we travelled as a party of two adults and two teenagers , one being my sons mate and had two family rooms overlooking the pool area, lovely view and large clean rooms with a seperate seating area. my only gripe was around 4-5pm most mornings large groups of people comming back from outside the hotel decided to swim in the pool which kept us awake so we had to let reception know and they did in all fairness sort it out straight away but really it should be patrolled more.food was great plenty of it and well cooked, a nice selection of salads , pasta meat fish and soups plus fresh crusty breads.Drinks were plentiful a choice of fanta coke water or juices and red/white rose wine on tap to help yourselves. Spirits were good with large measures so be warned lol.The three pools were amazing very clean and the staff were always cleaning around them. Entertainment staff were great especially francessca (hi fran) who took a shine to my thirteen year old son lol, activities ranged form shooting archery, volley ball darts and table tennis which the two boys loved and took part in everything even bingo. Ther were coffee and cakes everyday at four too.Overall a great place and we would definatly go back in the future.

Having spent best part of a week trying to find a place to stay for a 5 night break, I was really pleased with the result. I travelled with my partner ( we are both in our forties) and although it was a very family orientated, the complex was big enough to find our own quiet spot. We sat in the gardens with a fab view of the bay. We had a lovely large room with an enclosed terrace at the front. The rooms were very clean. The food in the restaurant was very good, my only thing with this was it could have been kept a bit hotter. (I mentioned this in a comments form at the hotel) The salad bar was great and they serve up the most wonderful seafood soup. For all you cooked breakfast lovers, for a 3 star hotel this is the best English breakfast (for an English as they can be) in a European country. We have been to some 5 star all inclusive that have not even come close to this on the breakfast side of things! The staff were very helpful and friendly wherever you went in the complex. If you like your gin and tonic I was pleasantly surprised as it tasted like Gordon's gin unlike some places where the gin is ghastly!
And finally for those of you having to make you own way to the resort from the airport - this was the best transport we have ever had for simplicity. I emailed the Gran Canaria taxi company less that 12 hours before we arrived in Gran Canaria, no reply back but when we got to airport a chap was waiting for us. The 25 min trip costs 30 Euro and this is included a 5 Euro tip. When we were dropped off we made a verbal arrangement for them to pick us up, and true to their word they were bang on time. Overall this was an excellent holiday. It was our first time to Gran Canaria and should we visit again we would most certainly go back to this hotel.

Me and my other half spent a week in this hotel, We went straight to breakfast after arriving and was very impressed, good selection of food (they like to under cook some things so be careful what you pick). our first impressions was prob 5/10 (the view from the balcony wasnt very good) but After a walk around the grounds... 3 pools, 3 jacuzzis, 2 ouside bars and snack bars, tennis courts and lots of fruit palm trees with wild parrots we soon changed our opinions!
Pool is very clean, reception is presentable and rooms are spacious.
When going down for dinner it can get busy so make sure you claim your table by placing a drink it before getting food.
san angustin beach is 5mins walk down steep steps and 10mins back up, dark sand but so soft!!
To get to playa del ingles the hotel rings your taxi and it costs about 5euros.
we went on a few trips, warerpark was fantastic, boat trip (supercat) is relaxing, food on the boat was nice, they even stop off to let you swim in the sea well worth the money. beware of the jeep safari, its NOT off road (which they forgot to state while we was booking) they stop off for food, the chicken was raw and dessert was a BANANNA!
The Animation team was Brilliant! lots of sports and games during the day..kids entertainment til 9pm and then shows and games for the other generations till 11pm. The hotel has people staying from all over europe(spanish, german, polish, french, austrian, and mostly english)so overall it was fantastic... didnt want to come home. would defo consider going again in the future.
