Sunrise Beach Club & Villas - Heaven
My friend and I returned last week from Paradise Island in the Bahamas and stayed at a most wonderful Villa, Sunrise Beach Club & Villas. I did my research using tripadvisor.com, read reviews, checked out their web site and that was that. Five wonderful days at one of the cleanest, hotels I have ever been at. The rooms were just as they are described on their site. We had a bedroom on the second floor with a terrace overlooking the pool and lush immaculate gardens. A short walk, down a few stairs and we were at the beach. The... more
fun girls' trip with some complaints
I stayed at the Sunrise Beach Villas (# 208) on a "girls' trip" with 3 friends Dec 1-4, 2006. Overall, our experience staying at the villas was a nice one. We are all used to staying at 4 and 5-star resorts when traveling with our better halves but we wanted a more laid back, casual experience for our first girls' trip together. The Sunrise Beach Villas offered that and more. Our first impression was that it was like being at an upscale camp or college dorm and kinda reminiscent of "Melrose Place." Our villa had all the comforts of home...at... more
Best place on the beach!
My family (10 of us, in total) stayed in Villa 17 during the week prior to Christmas. The villa and property both surpassed our expectations. Sunrise Beach Club is approximately 1/2 mile from Atlantis, which we found to be the ideal location. The beach in front of our property was beautifully uncrowded, yet we were close enough to walk to the resort/casino for dining and entertainment. We were also within a 10-min walk of shopping and numerous other dining choices, and right next to the One & Only Ocean Club. The property is undergoing some... more
A luxury style to camping!
My husband and I along with our 3 sons and daughter in law, stayed at the Sunrise from Aug 5th to the 12th. We stayed in Villa 202 which was a beautiful 4bdr 4 bath with a fully appointed kitchen. When we first arrived we were a bit skeptical upon the approach of the resort the entrance was less than desirable. The driveway needs major repair, the office could use some attention and the bar area should be completely torn down and redone. Getting past all of that, the villa we stayed in was perfect in every way. The beach was as... more
Nice but a little grubby
Sunrise Beach Club could be so much more with a little effort. We stayed here having spent our first few days at Atlantis and in some ways were relieved to leave Atlantis for a more Bahamian accommodation. Our villa (in the main building) was perfectly nice but did look a little old and tatty and could have done with a bit of maintainance. The mirrors were scratched and dirty, the taps broken in the bath and the plug for the sink missing altogether! Having said that, the place did have quite a nice beachy / island feel to it and... more
Home away from home
8 friends descended on SBCV for a long weekend to find a home away from home. We had a large three bedroom condo with all the amenities. The beach is beautiful and the place is quite. We felt like we were the only ones there. SBCV is walking distance to Atlantis and a few restaurants or just ask security or the office to call a cab. We ate at Columbus Tavern and enjoyed a nice meal and had breakfast at a place in Hurricane Hole plaza (both within walking distance). We even cooked on the grill one night after taking a cab to the... more
As Advertised...Very Relaxing
We just returned from 3 nights at SBCV. We thought the location was perfect, it was on a beautiful beach. It is close enough to walk to Atlantis but just far enough from the beach crowds to be relaxing. The room was a bit dated but very clean, functional, and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The grounds were well kempt, pools looked nice, and the little bar was nice to have for a cocktail. The staff accomodated both an early check in and a late check out...which was great. The cons: the price of $350 seems a little... more
The place to stay on Paradise Island!
Look no further than the Sunrise Beach Villas for the perfect quiet/family stay in Paradise Island/Nassau. If you love crowds, the insanity of Atlantis, and food prices that will force you to take a second job, then Sunrise is not the place for you. The villas at Sunrise are beautiful and spacious. The kitchen contains all the amenities of home. The pools are beautiful, quite and uncrowded. The beach (Cabbage Beach) is equally beautiful and tranquil and steps from your villa. The staff at Sunrise is extremely helpful and friendly.... more
Nice, relaxing place
We had a great trip. The Sunrise Beach Club was on a beautiful beach, near Atlantis, but that monstrosity was not noticeable, unbelivably. The beach was not crowded. Villas were spacious, with full kitchens, patio, one and a half baths, and grounds were lush and pretty. 2 Pools. A festive, cute bar and grill and beach bar. This is for people who want some relaxation/quiet and like to investigate other places for restaurants and activities. Still, we could walk to the crazy Atlantis and the One and Only Beach Club (a stunningly marvelous... more
quite yet close to the Altantis action
If you are looking for a place that is quite, all the amenities of home and the beach has MUCH less people then the Atlantis this is for you...The prices of EVERYTHING in Bahamas is high, so having the avalability to have a full kitchen saved us alot on breakfast and lunchs. Tell the taxi driver to stop off at a grocery store in Nassau, BEFORE you get to Paridise Island... The grocery stores in Paridise Island is 3x more expensive then the ones in Nausau. We went to a show , dinner, shopping and sight seeing at the Atlantis, but it was... more
