Best in this price range - very pleasant
from TravelerFairfax_VA
I needed a place to stay for a business trip to Antigua. There are many high end hotels but few during high season in the $200-300 range. The Antigua Village was perfect - $245 a night through Orbitz, clean studio room with full size appliances, friendly staff, convenient mini market, no all-inclusive requirement, taxi stand on the grounds (ask for Sydney, he provides a great tour and commentary) and an outstanding beachside restaurant (The Beach). Ask for room 39A if it is available.
memories to last forever.

After our 2nd visit in 2004, we decided the only way to go, was to buy timeshare. Apart from the food being quite expensive, we can't think of anything to criticise. There is so much do and see if you want to, but then if you don't, it's just as good to laze on the beach. Everything is so clean and welcoming. The second time we arrived, we immedately felt at home. Our taxi driver Emery is a gem. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. Can't wait for next time.

The Guest Services were excellent. Everyone there kind and friendly. House keeping and Security Second to none. Accomodations were very lovely. I think though an all inclusive unless you are an owner is probably better. Although there is a lot to do nearby. You have to book elsewhere. Sign up in Advance for SCUBA it runs out fast. See Charles for Horses. They are great. Diana From Jolly Harbor,Although futher away and a little more expensive seemed by far the most competant for SCUBA. Paula...

Just got back on the 18th of August, and hated to leave. Accomodations were somewhat dated but exceptionally clean and close to the beach. Food at the Beach and Coconut Grove was expensive, but first class. The people of Antigua were amazingly friendly and refreshing. The sun shined every day with a nice breeze that make a day at the beach a pleasant experience. My husband and I cannot wait to return.

We moved to Antigua Village after a short; disappointing stay at Turners Beach (further south), and were delighted with the apartment made available to us at no notice (4S). The views were spectacular and the staff at the Village were really helpful, special mention for Cutie of housekeeping! Tons of hot water, very clean accommodation and the grounds with fresh bananas; pomegranites and limes are restful and delightful. Yes food and drink are quite expensive but the quality is excellent. Yes getting about is pricey but hire a car and get...

Our family of 4 adults 2 kids just returned from Antigua Village. Our villa/studio provided ample space for all to enjoy. The rooms were clean, nicely furnished and the village provided excellent maid service daily.Beach & Pool excellent for kids too..Restaurants in walking distance great. Great value for money.Never left complex.
Little Value for the Money

For $320 per night in Antigua Village my girlfriend and I got a room with: - Virtually no hot water, the water temperature fluctuated between cold and slightly warm (who needs hot water in Caribbeans); - No telephone service, you cannot call outside the island from the phone in your room, you need to drive to the nearest city and buy calling cards; - Two small beds put together (instead of one queen size, as you would expect for that price), where when you make love either you or your partner will almost certainly fall between...

Very Pleasant!

We stayed at Antigua Village for several days in early August 2003. We had a hotel type room with twin beds and a small kitchenette. Our unit, 44B, was close to the beach and showing signs of age. But the staff keeps it well maintained and we had no complaints. All the appliances functioned, we had a large patio with a nice breeze, and the staff were warm and friendly. There are two restaurants nearby--Coconut Grove and The Beach. The Beach is a bit more casual and the food and service are good at both. (Be sure to try the Seafood...

Everything we hoped for
from A TripAdvisor Member
We just came back from the Antigua Village two weeks ago in the end of May 2003 and it was everything that we had expected and wanted on our relaxing tropical getaway. Our room/studio apartment was very large with a fully functioning kitchen. It was very clean and attractive and the maids even did the dishes! We brought food in and cooked most meals to save money but there were two adorable restaurants two steps away from the complex that we frequented for pina coladas and cocktails. The cable television was great, air conditioning, and...

Antigua Village - Juat what we were looking for
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at Antigua Village over New Year's '02-'03. It was just what we were looking for - laid back, right off the beach, pretty, well-maintained and quiet. The rooms are fine - we had a studio with kitchen...just a big open room. The grounds are very pretty. The staff and security guards were extremely friendly. The place is right on a beautiful (and active) beach-Dickenson Bay. Plus, there are two great bar/restaurants within about twenty yards of the village - The Beach and Coconut Grove. The only problem the whole...
