Beautifull hotel but...
In july 2006 my husband and I stayed here for one night: to pamper ourselves on our first holidaynight in the UK. On the website of the hotel it is stated so clearly: endulge yourselve, pamper yourselve: so I thought I will book the expensive four poster bedroom (159 pound per night) but i will be worth it, looking at the pictures. The surroundings are beautifull, the cliffs of Dover are very beautifull, the hotel is situated in a great manor house but we did not sleep a bit. The reason: the bed was like sleeping on hardboard, the... more

I took my daughter, who had just finished her GCSEs, for a mini spa break. We had separate rooms and I had the room which is above the Spa. I admit it was a little noisy but it really wasn't a problem. The rooms we stayed in were amazing in size and quality of furnishings. We had never been anywhere like it!!!. We both had treatments which were included in the break. My daughter opted for a 'body brushing' which turned out not to be really suitable for her age, but she said that the therapist was very accommodating and tailored the treatment... more
OK Hotel.
Hotel is a pleasant location and while they tout a walking trip to St Margarets, be carefull. Road has a lot of high speed traffic and could be easy to get run over. Anyway, the rooms were well appointed, however the mattress that we had seemed past its comfort date. An earlier author did mention spiders but that is a price for staying in a converted barn. Attached restaurant was quite good although the food was a bit overcooked. If you are driving from the London area watch out for major traffic tie ups on the M20. Took 2 hours to go from... more
Excellent food, shame about the spa
We stayed here for our first night away from our 15 month old son to get away from it all and relax. the hotel itself is lovely, the room we had was very clean and pleasant and the communal areas are lovely. the high point of our stay was the dinner we had at the hotel restaurant. it really was excellent. My only criticism would be of the spa. The pool is fine but there is only space for 4 loungers around it (3 together and one on its own). Because there were 2 other people there my husband and I were unable to sit together and... more
Perfect...
I have stayed at Wallett's Court on a number of occasions and think the service, attention to detail, food, rooms and general ambience to be in the upper echelons of UK 'super' country hotels. The restaurant offers a fine, English, selection of exquisite meat, fish, cheese dishes. The wine list is astonishing. The spa, pool, sauna are typically quiet and clean. The rooms an exciting contrast of old Tudor and new school. I can't really fault it. I have stayed during the cold winter months, bright spring days, and gorgeous summer... more
We enjoyed our stay here
My wife and I stayed at Wallett's Court 6-11 November 2005. We enjoyed it tremendously. We arrived at 11:30 p.m. after a tiring 2 hour drive in rain from London to find the receptionist standing at our car door before we even got out! He had been waiting for us to arrive. He was very pleasent, helped with taking our bags to the room, and explained about the breakfast times. We stayed in Room 19. It's a large room with a large bathroom, located above the spa. The room is very lovely, with wood beams in the ceiling above the... more
Very disappointed with Wallett's Court
We read the reviews on TripAdvisor before we booked, as they have ALWAYS been accurate. Unfortunately we found our room at Wallett's court (Room 12 in the stables)to be more like a cheap guest house than a country house hotel. We stayed on Friday 20th July, paying 119GBP for bed and breakfast for 2 adults. When we arrived the woman on reception rushed us out to our room in the Stables, we had to almost run while carrying a suitcase to keep up with her.All she said by way of converstion was 'Have you been before?' We hadn't-so she... more
Management response from Walletts

We at Wallett's Court operate a 100% satisfaction guarantee. The guests concerned have been contacted and offered a complete refund for their stay. We take feedback from all guests very seriously and will move to ensure every single guest is happy with their stay. It is unfortunate that we were not made aware of any problems during the stay of the Bannisters from Dundee, if we had been then we could have enriched their lives with a little kindness, which is obviously lacking. Wallett's Court has been operating for 30 years under the same ownership and management, this is the most hurtful feedback to have been received. The accommodation concerned had been refurbished completely in April 2005 with new bathroom, carpets and furnishings and we will continue to invest in our hotel to ensure its continuing sucess. I would like to add that if you have a problem with any product or service we provide, no matter what it is, the most effective path to happiness is to tell someone about it straight away in order to acheive this goal. After all your happiness, as our guests, is why we continue to do what we do. Thanks for listening...

We (two adults two children) have just spent Christmas and New Year staying at a total of four hotels. Our children liked Wallets Court best of all because they slept in the 'Statton Hut' - a timber framed hut on stilts with a double bed and tiny mezzanine (single bed). We (Mum and Dad) enjoyed the treatments particularly the Reflexology which I highly recommend. They treat 50/50 men and women so there is no need for the men to feel embarrassed. The pool is small but very clean and there is also a jacuzzi, stream room and... more
Perfect for our honeymoon
very good food, spa, rooms, and service, we will be going back.
Quaint but noisy
My husband and I stayed at Wallett's Court for three days while touring southern England. While the hotel is beautiful and the history of the building itself is amazing, it was not a quiet, out of the way country house....it was an incredibly noisy hotel! We stayed in a beautiful suite, but the problem was our window opened onto the main gravel driveway and was directly above the spa (which is quite popular!) so by 8:00 in the morning all we could hear was the crunch of the cars on the drive and the doors slamming in the spa and... more
