1864 The Sea Captain's House & Spa

We stayed here at the end of September 2006 based solely on Trip Advisor reviews. Tony and his staff served us well and we enjoyed lovely massages as well as the 'as advertised' lazy breakfast daily on our deck. Would readily stay there again based on the excellent service and attention to detail.

I spent one wonderful week in Oia. The hotel perfectly faces the Caldera and from my suite I had a spectacular view on the sea, the volcano and the rest of the island. First and foremost the staff is really friendly and professionnal, always ready to help you and give you advice for what to see on the island... They really make you feel at home. You can also have some relaxing or energizing moments by ordering massages from a long list of massage techniques...The brand new spa is really perfect for taking care of yourself.... more

We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at Tony s Sea captains House.The house is wonderful,and the views from the Sailing suite are out of this world.It is the finest most spellbinding view that I have experienced in my long life.Tony and his staff could not be more helpful or less obtrusive.Breakfast is awesome,the choice immense and service is impeccable.The air conditioning is a godsend.Oia is the prettiest part of Santorini and there is no better place to see it than from the balcony.The restaurants Ambrosia and Ambrosia... more

My husband and I met our very good friends here at The Sea Captain's House and stayed for 8 glorious days, occupying the Venetian and Sailing Suites located on the second floor of this picturesque villa overlooking the caldera in Oia. Tony Mosiman and his staff were "top notch" when it comes to hospitality during our stay at The Sea Captain's House in Oia. This level of hospitality actually began when I was researching our stay more than 6 months prior to our arrival. SEA CAPTAINS HOUSE was a bit difficult for us to find at first: (WORTH IT !!) We asked several locals who eagerly pointed the way.(Tony the owner is well-known and loved here) There are no signs on the main steet in OIA that we could see. We were the second couple to stay in the NEWLY RENOVATED MEMORIES HOUSE: set off from the main house with the most incredible views we found in all of OIA. Where do I even begin?? I have never written a review, this is my first! But we had the most amazing honeymoon I just had to put it down so others could be encouraged! My family stayed here last June. We finished our tour of Europe with a 3-day stay in Santorini and, although we had seen beautiful places in Switzerland, Italy, and the mainland of Greece, our experience in Santorini was by far the best of all. My husband and I stayed at The Sea Captain's House for the first part of our honeymoon. We found the Sea Captain's House on this website and we are so glad we did! This place is amazing. The hotel is situated right in the town of Oia and is close to swimming, dining, and shopping!! The view is absolutely the most beautiful we have seen. We just returned from 2 weeks in Greece and sadly enough, only 3 days of those two weeks were spent at the Sea Captain's House. Not only were the accomodations lovely; but the staff was adorable and delightful. The owner, Tony, has created a wonderful retreat that caters to your every need. The nightly turn down service was very romantic! Unfortunately, there was so much to see and do on the island that we were not able to take full advantage of the available spa treatments and sauna.
