Peaceful Break
from Katzman
We had dinner at Boscundle Manor Hotel last year, that was how we discovered it. We had the misfortune to stay at a nearby venue that was thoroughly disappointing. As no chef was available we were forced to find our evening meal elsewhere. The Boscundle owner very kindly found an extra table, and we dined well that evening. This year we booked well in advance and opted for the Garden Room (Charlotte). Alarm bells were raised at one point, as I regularly check TA, and was horrified to see the negative report about the very room we would...

Nice room but totally unacceptable bathroom
from atcer28
Boscundle Manor could be a great hotel but certain aspects are way below the standard I would expect of any decent hotel let alone one charging £140 for a small room. Initial impressions were good on arrival we were served tea and cake. However we were then left waiting for ages whilst the manager was on the phone to the owners be shown to our room. We stayed in "Dororthy" which was very tastefully furnished if a bit on the small and dark side. It had everything you could want including fresh milk for tea etc, molton brown...

Wonderful Stay
from jimmymatt
We found the staff wonderfully helpful and friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable with a lovely ambience. would have no hestiation tin recommending this hotel to friends or family the only misfortune was that we could only stay for 1 night, how I wish we could have stayed longer -extremely relaxing.
Damp and Disappointing
from Hopelessness
Special surprise stay for my husband's 50th Birthday. Whilst food and waiting staff very good and the main house from what we saw was welcoming, we stayed in the "Garden Room" (being changed to "Charlotte") which had: - very strong damp smell with a dehumidfyer in the cupboard which we plugged in and it filled up overnight! - bad damp on the carpet in the bedroom. - bathroom had cracked tiles in the shower cubicle with the rubber surround covered in mould and hanging out; pump in the mira shower unit died; the fan didn't suck...

Management response from cornwalldave
Prospective guests should note that the garden room mentioned in this review (now known as the "Charlotte Garden Suite") was totally refurbished in July 2007 and is now considered to be one of the best rooms at Boscundle Manor with a peaceful location and fantastic views over the terraced gardens.
Relaxed, comfortable, a perfect overnight stay
from KentWoman
We stayed at the Boscundle Manor so that we could visit the Eden Project which is close by. We arrived late morning and, to our delight, our room was ready within thirty minutes. The room itself was extremely comfortable and the bedroom luxurious. We had our own little garden area with table and chairs which was a pleasant addition. The room was well appointed with a good mini bar and (to my delight) Molton Brown toiletries. After a great trip to the Eden Project, we availed ourselves of the mini bar, soaked in fragrant bubbles...

Honeymoon treat - just lovely
from Andy001z
We stayed at the Boscundle Hotel for a couple of nights for our honeymoon and had a lovely stay. The delightful room R8, that had its own spa bath and huge bed. Dining in the first night of our stay we had a very well presented and cooked 3 course meal for a reasonable price, all very tasty. Breakfasts again nicely presented and a good choice, with yummy yogurts. Inside the charming hotel with a lovely flowered front and grounds, we found the staff friendly and helpful. The layout was relaxing and with a mix of new and old. The swimming...

Lovely room
from NB1957
I stayed just one night here and the room that I had was superb. It had a large bed, was very big and very comfortable, The bathroom had a spa bath and a separate shower. Lots of nice little touches such as the decoration, the shampoo and bath gel of high quality and the aftershave in the gents toilet. I had only one problem, it did not appear possible to get hot water before 7.00am which is a bit frustrating if you have an early start. The food in the restaurant is of high quality though quite expensive. If you are looking for...

very good but nothing special
from global traveller number one
We had dinner at the restaurant of The Boscundle Manor Hotel, and whilst it was very good, I did not find it 'special'. We had a friendly reception on arrival, and we had pre dinner drinks in the very comfortable lounge. We were served a selection of canape's which were very tasty. The 3 course dinner was very good but not exceptional. The service was very good and there was a good wine list. There was only one other couple in the dining room, and we had a little chuckle when one of them thought that the drizzle of balsamic syrup with the...

A very relaxing hotel of great character.
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed 3 nights at this hotel which is close to the Eden Project. The historic harbour of Charlestown is also quite close and is well worth a visit. We discovered the hotel via the Internet and found the website to be very useful and informative. We stayed in the main hotel building which is old and has bags of character and charm. Our reception was very welcoming and the service we received throughout the hotel during our stay was first class. Our room was very clean and well equipped, having tea, coffee (and...

Great ambience, lovely food
from MickOH
Had a wonderful weekend at Boscundle Manor. The hotel is a beautiful old building and incredibly comfortable. The staff are very friendly, the ambience very relaxing and the restaurant serves incredible food. Don't miss it, especially if you are visiting the Eden Project. Mick O'Hare
