Tudor House Hotel

We arrived at The Tudor house Hotel on Monday 23rd October 2006 asking if there was any avaliabilty for that night. The lady on Reception said Yes they do have a room we asked to look at it and thought the room was very nice so booked the room. We then checked in and around 5pm builders started doing work outside are window we were not told about this before hand which was very dissapointing. I was just browsing your web site when i saw a write up on the Tudor House Hotel dated on the 3/4/06 and was very shocked to find out what the Rhodes couple said about the Hotel. Myself and my wife stayed on the very same night and found it most enjoyable. The staff were one of the friendliest and most helpful we have had the pleasure to meet. Please take my advice and avoid this. OK, it initially seems oldey-worldly. We never saw anyone who looked like they knew what they were doing; just a couple of lads who were pleasant enough but didn't have any authority - the lad in the morning couldn't even open the front door. Noisy room with loud disco underneath and the High Street outside. Smoke wafting up from the pub/disco. Old soap stuck in the bath (no shower). I stayed at the tudor house hotel for 2 nights whilst on business in Tewkesbury. Having only made my booking(originaly for only 1 night)I was made to feel very welcome. My work took me into needing accomodation for a second night, which did'nt seem to create a problem & was sorted out quickly. I can't comment on evening meals here, having eaten out both nights, but the full english breakfast is excellent, the chef was also happy to turn out early on the saturday as I wanted an early breakfast. hello, we would like to give a review for a hotel in tewkesbury we stayed only 1 night at the end of july. we booked in holland at OAD-travel. we stayed at tudor house hotel. we enjoyed it there very much, liked that old building with it's history and tales like ghosts etc. the new managerwoman does a lot to get the hotel in better situation and we think she will succeed. it was so nice staying there, that we intend to spend our next holliday there for 3 or 4 days. good, luxuous diner and delicious english breakfast. we had a nice... more

Having booked the Adam's Suite in March 04, we arrived (July 04) to discover that our room had been double booked the previous week; the other guests had already been placed in the suite so there was nothing the hotel could do except offer us another room. It was small, dirty, cramped, old fashioned and totally unacceptable - this apparently was the best alternative they could offer! I stayed at the Tudor House Hotel recently as it was near a friend's wedding. The staff were pleasant and accomodating and there was a certain amount of Olde Worlde charm. However... I can't obviously speak for all the rooms but there is the distinct impression that the last refit was in about 1974. I stayed for 2 o r 3 night in this hotel, the staff seems to be very british and they asked me to take a look on my new Euro money because it' was a the begining of this currency.they were all very nice with me, and my bedroom was very large, the bed very confortable and the hotel so quite, not noisy like some others(especially in front of the Abbey).My feeleing is very good for this hotel and i'm not agree with this guy very unhappy.

I stayed at the Tudor House Hotel in mid January. Staff all appeared to be British, not Spanish. I saw no sign of a lecherous Manager. The Hotel was almost full the whole time I was there and all the other guests I spoke to appeared happy with their stay. I was well treated by the staff who were courteous and helpful, my room was clean, comfortable and atmospheric (the building is, I was told, almost 500 years old). Having booked for a stay of around a month due to work requirements, I arrived in the evening of a Sunday and checked into the hotel. The hotel itself is an historic building and it assumes a regal stance in the high street. Everywhere you look there is something that has a story to tell and I felt immediately at home within its walls. Then I met the staff....
