Riviera Lodge Hotel

I checked out this hotel on Tripadvisor......and the reviews are not wrong. I have travelled to many places and stayed in many hotels in England, but this is probably the best I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. The proprietors are wonderful, the breakfast was excellent, the rooms warm, spotlessly clean and comfortable. It is only a pity that I could only stay one night! When I next go back to Torquay I will definitely consider going back to the Riviera Lodge Hotel, hopefully sooner rather than later.

This is our 5th stay at this hotel, it only gets better. The hotel is spotless, rooms are comfy and bathrooms refurbished. The lounge and bar area very cosy. Food is always freshley cooked and very good. The hosts Lee and Carsten are very friendly and helpful. We will deffinately be going back. Jeff and Joan ( SOMERSET)

We stayed for one night at this lovely hotel and now wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in Torquay. Very friendly proprietors, lovely ambience and atmosphere, classy surroundings, great little touches (such as the mints which were refreshed and the postcards) and first class food, both dinner and breakfast. Very clean surroundings, very comfortable and clean room. Excellent!

We have been going to the Riveira for 10yrs or more and have stayed in many hotels inc big 1s, but have found the perfect hotel at last prestine clean excellent food, pool was cold but clean, good hosts we will not be looking anywhere else in future, looking forward to our next visit 2008.

From the outside the hotel looks well kept. When we arrived we were met and taken to our room No 5. The room is very well fitted and decorated, the en-suite is brand new but overall the room is very small. We had a problem when we failed to get any cold water from tap or toilet. Found this hotel on Trip Advisor & delighted with choice. Easy to book on website, very welcoming helpful "staff", clean, excellent food. You can eat dinner in the conservatory overlooking the pool which overlooks Torbay. Wouldn't look anywhere else next time in Torquay. Only minor drawback is it is up a hill!! but a lot are in this resort.

Having stayed in 4 and 5* hotels in England which were awful I was a little hopeful that this late booking to take the in-laws away for a few days would at least be OK. I needn't have worried. The stay exceeded all expectations. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The food was very good; not many options (which I think is a good sign) and was of high quality and not too costly. Well stayed at this B&B as a bit of a last minute choice, pictures looked good but you can never be sure. Have to say I was pleasently suprised. Nice spacious Room, clean tidy and very quiet. Breakfast was very good as was the whole service. I would certainly stay their again and would recomend it.

We booked here at the last minute, and although had read the few previous reviews on other websites, did not know what to expect. The hotel has recently changed owners and has been extensively refurbished. We were not disappointed! The aptmosphere is one of relaxed elegance, with an intimacy not found in larger hotels. We took over this hotel with 30 of our guests for our wedding weekend in October 2004. Owners, Denise and Frank worked tirelessly throughout the 3 days running the hotel and hosting our reception. Nothing was too much trouble for this couple who ensured all the guests were comfortable and enjoyed the weekend. We and our fellow guests would certainly recommend this family run hotel to anyone seeking quality, comfort, service, good location and peace of mind.
