This hotel is perfect if you DO NOT WANT TO SLEEP! We were kept awake until 4:30am by noisy, drunk people smoking outside our room. We complained several times about the noise and asked for a quieter room but the hotel was full. We had to shut the windows to make it slightly quieter but made little difference. The room was very small and very hot -no air conditioning. The bathroom was very small- larger people may struggle to fit on the toilet! Only stay at this hotel if you would like your stay to hacve the following , rude staff , dirty smelly rooms and trust me they are , people coming and going allo night long , people fighting inside and outside the tip, a bar man who offers you drugs , and as for the breakfast well that is worth seeing for your self , for all who are thinking about going here trust me i really would skip it buy your own drugs if thats what your into and find another hotel as this 1 is an absolute [--] tip the best part of my experience was leaving that rat... more

Refurbished and re-opened in May 09 this hotel is within 5 minutes walk (downhill) of the centre of town. Staffed mainly by the experienced owners & his friends/family, all of whom have experience of working in hotels. The European girls at breakfast and on reception were all very pleasant and well presented but di dnot engage in conversation. Turned up here very late about 2330 after hours of travelling and not prebooking a hotel so we stumbled upon this hotel by chance and quite frankly I would have paid anything for a bed by now. Even at this time the owners were cheerful, welcoming and helpful and they remained that way throughout our 3 night stay. rooms were a little on small side but were brand new, modern and clean, the whole hotel had a really good feel to it. Two night stay here in April 2009 and from what I was told by the receptionist the hotel has only been open a couple of weeks after a complete renovation and the lobby area and hallways looked new as did the room. My room was very small I doubt it was even 10 feet by 10 feet, had a double bed, bedside tables, small wardrobe, desk and desk chair, large LCD TV, hairdryer and iron but no ironing board which is good as I am not sure where it would fit. We ended up staying at the West Cliff Inn over the early May Bank Holiday, as the hotel that we had originally reserved back in January had a serious overbooking problem that weekend and arranged this as an alternative. Although set in a Victorian building, the hotel had only opened a fortnight earlier, having been extensively renovated. I recently booked a weekend in Bournemouth through party weekends for six of my friends for a 30th birthday weekend to include spa treatments. After having now been and returned from that weekend, (sat 17th may) I am writing this to so nobody makes the same mistakes.. Ok! So the rooms are basic, the decor is a little retro, we only had 2 channels on the tv and there was noone around untill about 11 o clock...But we had a great time! In fact we had more fun in their 24 hour bar than we did in the actual clubs. We found them friendly, helpfull and relaxed. So if your young, only looking for somewhere to put your head down at the end of a heavy night and want a fun stay as apose to a luxurious one then this is the place to go.

A real dissapointment, we were won over by the themed rooms described on the website but there's a reason there are no photos on there!! They market it as £35 pp to make it sound cheap, but that £70 for what basically is a hostel room! Location is great, but staff were rude and unhelpful you had to step over them to get out of the hotel while they were having a fag. I have to say I agree with alot of what the review on the 28th August. What attracted us to this hotel was the themed bedrooms, we booked a week in advance for the French Boudoir bedroom ( a romantic weekend away ....what a joke!!!!) When we arrived we were just given the key, didn't sign in or register. When we found our room it wasn't the French Boudoir but some other room. We stayed in this 'boutique hotel' over the Bank Holiday. It is definately not a hotel and has a feel like a youth hostel or dorm rooms, not for couples or older people as we found out. Despite being £80, some rooms have shared bathrooms, and those that are en suite are tiny with very badly decorated ones at that. It has tried to be quirky but its too much of bad thing, the whole place is painted almost black, its so dark you can hardly find your room.
