Montra Hotel

It's a quiet and comfortable hotel in Samui.The service in this hotel is very good.I love it very much.

we stayed at the Montra for 9 nights and i can say it was most relaxing .The atmosphere and friendly staff ,from the gardener to the hotel manager ( Sathit )was fantastic they can not do enough for you at any time day or night. The individual villa type accomadation set around the pool are lovely .You only had to sit on your sun lounger for a matter of moments when suzi would appear to offer drinks . we would recommend this to anyone ,it really is excellent value . As our transport pulled up outside this amazing boutique accommodation another traveller (going elsewhere) in our mini van looked with open jaw simply saying "nice". We stepped through the large calved doorway and immediate sense of calm came about the 3 of us including our 4 month old. After a 9.5 hour flight to Bangkok, then a night sleeping on a rock bench/bed, getting to Montra was a great moment! The privacy of the walls in outstanding, and as soon as you step out of your transport you will feel relaxed (Mind your head on the entry gateway though...). This was by far the best value and best hotel we stayed in during our trip to Thailand. It is like staying in a private 5 star spa resort, but for a lot less money. I would advice people to get in quick, as when people find out about this place the prices will start to go up I am sure. Put simply my stay at Montra was incredible, the collection of 9 villas positioned around a beautiful pool was stunning.. as was the service, the hotel restaurant and facilities in each villa. We stayed in the so called 'low season' and prices were therefore half that of the high season, the prices still seemed incredibly low for such a brilliant hotel. I cannot fault this place. When I first arrived I was puzzled by the low height doorway entrance to the grounds. I quickly realised that it was not a doorway at all, it was a portal to peace and relaxation. I don't understand why this place isn't busier. A small resort with less than 10 individual villa close to Lamai area of Koh Samui. I stayed for 4 nights in the Montra Suite and it might just be the best value stay I ever had in the world. With Montra you don't get a room, you get whole private villa. Montra is paradise within. This is the place to go if you want to chill out and avoid the hustle and bustle of the main resorts. Yet it is only a 30 minute walk down into Lamai if you can persuade the hotel staff to let you walk that is! They are extremely helpful and will arrange transport for you at the drop of a hat if you do not have your own.
