Rip off drink prices

We arrived at the Malpas late on 16th Aug and were promptly dealt with at reception where a porter collected our bags took us to our room and explained how the air conditioning worked. The next morning we were up early and went to explore the hotel. First impressions were good. The whole place is very clean and an army of staff seem intent on keeping it that way. It’s positioned on a gentle slope in acres of grounds which are attended to every day. There are 2 massive interlocking circular pools with a bridge across where they join...

Had a wonderful time!
from elmochickster
Arrived to a helpful front of house who transported us promptly with our luggage to our bungalow. The room was beautiful, house keeping though having no english, was exceptionally catering and using the international language of hand signals we mustered our way through. The bungalow was clean, beautiful and the bathroom the same too. The staff were extremely friendly and could not be more accommodating. Though english is sometimes not as fluent as some may prefer, the staff endeavour to do all they can to ensure you have all you...

Hotel Malpas - Very Disappointing
from jonny07
Apologies for this very long review but I have just returned from a week with friends at the Malpas Hotel and felt compelled to ensure other possible guests had a very honest view. I will start with the few positives. The hotel is very clean, our room (Diamond Villa-not in the hotel) was new, clean, spacious with 2 double beds and a balcony with a good ensuite. The pool is large, clean, warm with comfortable sun beds and towels. The breakfast provided a good choice as did the buffet dinner although after a few days you would become very...

Malpas was fun for us!
from TravellerTeacherKent
The Malpas was really beautifully decorated. The lobby area is really luxurious! I stayed in a mini villa with two girlfriends and it was outstanding - a modern twin room, living area and small bathroom then stairs up to a large mezzanaine with a big double bed. Everything seemed new and trendy. There was air con in both bedrooms and the living area but there was no batteries in one of the controllers and after asking quite a few times we ended up swapping batteries from TV remote to get it working. Apart from that the service was...

language confusion
from crowdhater
first impressions of this hotel are good. This is a modern hotel with great facilities. Unfortunately it is let down by many of its staff who can speak only a little Engish. Booked a tour for the day and was told to be ready for 9.30am Later in the evening was informed the time had been changed to 11.am .Was woken up by the reception at 9am saying a car was waiting for us!!! Quickly dressed and came down to meet the non English speaking driver to discover he had been sent to take some guests to the ship heading for Iran!!!!Obviously...

1* Service
from KR2008
Positives first. Hotel itself and grounds are very nice with gorgeous sea view. Pool area is large and spacious with contemporary furniture. Now the negatives: The service in this hotel is not up to par. For a hotel that classes itself as 5*, I would say the service was a 1 or 2 at a push. My advice is if you encounter problems with reception, housekeeping etc. (like we did!), ask to speak with the manager directly - will save you a whole lot of bother. The cafe by the pool could not cope with the orders. On the...

Very nice but !!!!

The Malpas hotel is a fabulous hotel with its faults. We stayed for three night, the room was very nice and the staff friendly. As we arrived late at the hotel & feeling tired, we thought room service would be a great Idea. Ordering it was another thing, nobody could speak English on the phone so my partner had to go dow to reception & try explain the problem.. 1 tuna & a chicken Sandwich, easy you would think. He had the same problem at the reception nobody spoke much English.. Anyway we laught it of not wanting to...

Alas, Malpas
from tibpas
My wife and I spent a week in Kyrenia in April of 2008. A travel agent in Ankara, Turkey, had recommended the Malpas in mid-February. However, it took her over a month (for clarity’s sake, that’s mid-March) to get Malpasl to disclose its April rates (unless you want to book online, Malpas's own website is of precious little use informing you about the nitty-gritty). The hotel is very clean and, at this time of year at least, very quiet. There were no more than a handful of guests anyway, most of them Britons well past the...

many faults
from uk1234Uk
We booked hotel 1 month early - 3 rooms. I phoned on booking through the website to confirm booking and recieved 2 personal emails back from reservations manager stating everything ok.Night before arrived I called again they said that they had lost my mothers room reservation but we could have a room for 650 pounds per night. I gave confirmation number and was told the same and nothing they could do. My wife spoke to reservations manager who promised to phone back in 10 mins- he did not 2 hours later was told it was all sorted. On...

Absolutely Recommended
from TinaNorthWest
This was our second stay at The Malpas Hotel this year! The food was excellent with ample choices for even the pickiest of eaters. I am a vegetarian and although there could have been more vegetarian options, they were quite willing to prepare anything I wanted. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were beautifully presented, of generous proportion and we had fantastic views. The standard of cleanliness was second to none. Perhaps the most notable feature of this hotel is the swimming pool which is enormous and is set in...
