Porto Fira Suites

I stayed here and it is humid. I felt like the air conditioner didn't work at all. There is a jacuzzi and great amenities but seriously, do you want to pay $500 for bath products and a cool tub? The hosts are nice and the view is breathtaking. I was not excited by the steep stairs. No one offered to help me carry the bags up the steep stairs to the street level. We spent 3 nights at this hotel in late September 2007. The hotel was centrally located in the more lively part of town and offers a great view of the caldera. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful (especially with luggage). However, we were a little unhappy with the hotel for the following reasons:- 1. The best room at the hotel was #28. We had 2 teenagers in the room with us and there was plenty of room because the balcony was HUGE. We had perfect sunsets every night and no need to go to Oia. Fira is where it is happening. Oia was very quiet and a real hike to get to the town of Fira. We took a high speed ferry from Mykonos and we were met by the hotel and taken by van to the top of the town. We stayed in PrtoFira Suites for four nights during late March 2007. The view of caldera and the sea from the hotel is breathtaking. You can enjoy the famous Santorini sunset from your balcony itself. The hotel staffs were helpful and fluent in English. Breakfast was ok. I think our stay would have been better if we have visited the hotel a little later in the year as they were still getting ready for the season and certain things were not available. October 20th 2006 (three nights) 159 Euro / night My boyfriend and I have decided to put this into good/not so good format. We’re both fairly tall, he is 6ft and I’m 5.8” and we’re both 29 years old. This place was fantastic. Stayed here for 3 nights on the recommendation from Lonely Planet website. Arranged a transfer from the airport and the porter met us at the top of the stairs. We then walked down the path and stairs to paradise. This hotel is set right on the cliff and the views are out of this world. We paid cash about 159 euros a night for a petite suite. I stayed at this hotel in July and it was beautiful. Georgeous sunsets every night and watching it from the hotel room balcony is a must. Especially with a nice cool bottle of local Santorini wine. This is a very nice hotel with which is marred by a few inadequacies just worth mentioning. Firstly, the breakfast is not very good at all. Beautiful views of the caldera and sunsets. Could not have had a better location. That being said, in order to have this primo view you must be willing to climb a lot of steps. Not a problem for us... The rooms are very cute and clean. Not opulent, but very nice. Bathroom had a jacuzzi tub and was a decent size. Everything is small on Santorini as real estate with this view is at a premium price. The Porto Fira Suites were a joy. Wonderfully comfortable with a great view of the caldera. Our room was spacious. The stone bed was comfortable. The desk staff and Dimitrius the porter were helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Our balcony was lovely, with a grape vine snaking around the railing. The breakfast was quite elaborate and tasty. But be warned, this property, as well as other lodging on the lip of the caldera, has a lot of very steep steps.

The view is amazing as I'm sure it is from most places in Fira. The staff here is so welcoming and helpful and the suites are just so beautiful. Take a look at the website ------ . Loved it there.
