Great Hotel
Had our first visit to Austria at the end of June for 10 days, and stayed at the Hotel Tyrol with my husband and 2 kids (ages 10 and 7). We all had a fantastic holiday with great weather. We stayed in the Annexe at the hotel, and our room was nice and spacious, and very clean. The food at the hotel was excellent, with plenty food at breakfast time to get you ready for the day ahead. The evening meals were also 1st class with a great variation, and each and every meal was delicious. The kids could also either choose from a kids menu, or... more
Good value
Just got back from 10 days at the Tyrol. Got a late deal with Crystal which was £600 off the brochure price for 2 people. At that price it was really good value. If we had paid the full price, I would not have been so happy. As others say the food is very good and the female staff are charming. The 2 male staff criticised elsewhere are actually very helpful but lack people skills so come across badly. The hotel could do with updating but, as you would expect in Austria, is very clean. It lacked the personal touch as the owners seemed... more
Lovely Hotel, great food but grumpiest man ever on reception
The hotel is very nice, very clean and well looked after. We were half board on a ski trip and the food was excellent. Breakfast had choices of cereals, toast, breads, fruit, juice, ham, cheese etc and dinners were 4 courses and great quality. However, the cheapest bottle of wine that they serve is €25 and they charge €4.20 for 3/4 litre of water and will not bring tap water to the table. The man on reception was the grumpiest person i have ever met. The hotel is a 5 minute walk out of town which is fine. The hotel has a bar,... more
Great food, great people
We arrived at the Hotel Tyrol after a transfer of around 2 hours from the airport in Salzburg. It did not feel that long though as the beautiful senery makes the trip feel much quicker! On arrival we had to fill in a form to give some personal details, not sure why they were needed as it held up the process of booking in a bit. My partner and I were given a room in what they called the annex, this was a building just over the road opposite the main hotel. The room was not that modern but warm, clean and comfortable only a couple of... more
Loved the food!
Having just returned from a weeks skiiing holiday in Soll, I felt the need to write a review regarding the Hotel Tyrol. The hotel was very traditional, the rooms very warm & clean and the food in the restaurant was plentiful and very good. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly and always happy to help. The ski bus called at the hotel on a regular basis (apart from during the lunch period) and was 10 minutes away from the slopes. The hotel has a room in the basement in which to store skis etc. The Tyrol has a masseur in situ... more
Quiet hotel
This is advertised as a four-star hotel, but it is really a high-end three-star hotel. On the plus side, everything is spotlessly clean, the staff are really friendly and it is very convenient to all the hotspots in Soll, without being beside them, which means that it is quiet. On the downside, the decor is really quite scary and the rooms are small. Food is mediocre, although the staff did their best to cope with the myriad of vegetarians and people with food allergies in our group. All-in-all, this hotel is good for a group who... more
Great restaurant
Hotel room was rather dated, and bathroom the same - we upgraded to stay in the 4* rooms - hearing from those staying in the 3* annex I'm unsure what the difference was. Saying that the bed was really comfy and the rooms spotlessly clean. The restaurant was great, with good food options, the only 'interesting' thing is you must decide what you want to eat in the evening at breakfast - how do you know what you want to eat 12 hours before you eat it!!! All the staff were very friendly, with one exception - the restaurant manager who... more
Very Cosy, Warm Hotel
We stayed at the Hotel Tyrol with a group of 3 other couples. We found the Hotel to be really nice, the buffet breakfast was great, with loads of everything, our room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, fine big balcony. Dinner was great each evening with plenty choice and our waiter was really lovely. This was our 2nd visit to Soll and if we return again we would stay in the Hotel Tyrol for sure. Soll itself is a good spot, apres ski is great and there are plenty of bars so you can stay out as late as you like. Unfortuantely when... more
Great Time At The Hotel Tyrol Soll
family of 4 adults (2parents and 2sons aged 18 and 22) we spent 1 week in soll for christmas 1st time skiing .This hotel was super ,clean, welcoming and the food was excellent.it is literally 5 mins walk from the ski slopes but if you dont want to walk there is a bus to take you there .The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel bar is very cosy .the bedrooms were pristine and very warm. They made a huge effort on christmas eve with gala dinner and every guest got a gift while the tree was lit traditionally with real... more
Best of the Soll Ski Hotels (apparently!)
A group of 11 of us stayed here as part of a package ski holiday in Feb 2006. The hotel is listed as "4 star" but I would consider it to be more along the lines of an average 3 star. The decor is "traditional" Tirol with a heavy 80s influence, lots of fussy carpets and decorative wallpaper and furnishings, and not really my thing. We were too cold to care though. The rooms were clean and spacious, and more importantly, very warm. TV and hairdryer, but no minibar or tea/coffee making facilities. The bathroom was a bit naff, very 80s... more
