Hotel Rossi

We had a lovely 1 night stay at Hotel Rossi in May 2005. Positives include, very close proximity to train station and water buses (5 minutes max); generally friendly staff; clean nicely decorated room; safe neighbourhood with some character. Only negatives include the many stairs up to the 5th floor where our room was situated, and the very small cubicle bathroom inside the room. I booked a double room with bath. Room rate was 90 euro/ night. The room was clean and bright. Bath room is small but we have no problem with that. Weather was hot but the air con in the room works very well and keeps us cool throughout our stay. Great location, just 5 mines walk from the train station. It a nice hotel and we glad that we have stayed here.

Rossi is in a great location for your arrival and departure. It's 5 minutes from the train station and you don't need to walk over any bridges or hop on a vaporetto to get to it (a rather big pain with a suitcase!). It's off the main street, but luckily it is at the back of a side street and therefore away from all the noise. Budget low cost hotel which is wonderful. Right in the heart of the action with only a 3 minute walk from the train station. The hotel was very clean and the hosts very friendly who speak very good english. The breakfast of breadrolls was a bit ordinary but there were plenty of cafes to choose outside. We have an 18 month old baby and the hotel was able to supply a port-a-cot which was great

This is really a hotel with a superb location, within walking distance from the bus terminal and the train station, it a lovely little corner off one of the lane but the main street(maybe say 20m away) is bustling with activites with the restaurants and the stall shops... so if you are looking for somewhere near hustle and buzzle but not too noisy, this really ideal!! My two friends and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend in February 2005. We didn't have a hotel when we arrived and were very lucky to find such a great little hotel with a vacancy during carnivale. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was just what we needed. The room itself was very clean as was the bathroom. The location was very good also. Based upon reviews here and in travel books, we chose Hotel Rossi for a four day stay in Venice. It was a great value in an expensive, but beautiful, city The room was cosy but spotless. The linens and beddding were of high quality. The bathroom in our room was spotless, although the shower temperature did vary a lot during use. We asked for 2 twin beds with shared bath and were placed in an annex building on the same small street. There were 3 rooms, but we only say 2 people, never in the bath. The room was large and clean, but the air conditioning wasn't turned on yet so we needed the ground floor window/door open. The window/door was to a paved courtyard storing junk, so I didn't like how someone could easily break in. We also got mosquito bites. The bath was clean. The Hotel Rossi was a pleasant surprise. I was very lucky to find souch a nice hotel on a mudget. It goes to show that looking for something off the beaten path can reward you greatly.

This hotel will surprise anyone in the quality of the service and the comfort. I stayed there November of 2000 and shocked at the level of style for the amount that we payed. book it early because this hotel is not large but very comfortable. The rooms are very bright and warm, with plenty of space. There were phones in every room, which guests can use to make local calls in venice. The entire property was very clean and classy.
