Blue Parrot Suites

The hotel is fantastic. The location is prime and the rooms and the bar are simply wonderful. I loved it! and will definitly return to the parrot. I have stayed in the top resorts around the world and was surprise by the level of service I recived and the quality of the rooms. Just dont eat anything other than breakfast at the hotel restaraunt and you will be fine. There are many great restaraunts up the street and some great bars. Loved OM right across the street. My husband and I stayed at the Blue Parrot Sept. 19 to Sept. 23 and had a very nice and relaxing time. The hotel staff was very courteous. The room was very clean and was cleaned every day of our stay. The hotel is right on the beach which was very convenient. The rooms are a distance from the bar and we only heard the occasional "thump" of music but not enough to keep us awake. My new husband and I stayed here in 8/04 for our honeymoon and it was terrific! We would go back here in a second. It's very open-air, not like a regular old closed-in hotel, and our studio overlooking the beach felt like our own private bungalow. The room was cleaned well every day, the drinks and food at the bar and via room service were very good, the mini-bar was reasonably priced, and we were never disturbed by late-night noise or music or anything. We stayed at the Blue Parrott in April 2004 and beginning with reservations and ending with our check out 8 days later, we can not say enough good things! Throughout our stay we were made to feel like being a content guest at this hotel mattered. When we booked our room we could not get as close to the beach as we wanted, so reservations asked how we felt about breaking up our stay and moving halfway through to a room closer. I have stayed at the Blue Parrot twice in the past 4 years. It is a great location right in town with beautiful beach frontage and, if you stay in the new part, the rooms have a good view of the ocean, though some are at a bit of an angle. The hotel is typical of older Mexican hotels, a little rough around the edges, but very quaint and comfortable. Do not stay in a palapa room unless you can rough it. The Blue Parrot is right on the beach in a location close to 5th Ave. and all the shops & restaurants. It's beautiful and clean and has a bar and restaurant. The beach is wonderful and you can see Cozumel (Playas necklace, so called). I highly recommend it!

I am writing again after staying at the Blue Parrot for the 2nd time. We stayed from July 14-18 2004 after spending 5 days in Cozumel at Plaza Los Glorias. I looked aroumd for another hotel but was stuck on going back to the Blue Parrot for price and location. I love the rooms there and the place has definitely tried to upgrade from last year. Just got back from 4 days at the Blue Parrot and was pleasantly suprised. The location is excellent in regards to Playa Del Carmen, only 2 blocks from the main strip. The rooms were very nice, the balconies were the best feature. Hammocks on each for swinging in the breeze looking at the waves.Only negative things to say was that it was a tad pricey but expected for the location, and the beach swimming sucks a bit because there is practically a fishing boat parking lot right in front. We stayed at the Blue Parrot in February this year and were extremely happy with this hotel. We have visited Playa Del carmen in the past, and stayed at a large all-inclusive resort in Playacar. We enjoyed that experience also, but had a much better time this go around. The location of this hotel to downtown is perfect. The Blue Parrot is a beautifully designed for the space, rooms decent but not being a hotel (condos) there is likely to be some owners visiting at the same time as you are renting. They are not friendly. This makes one a little uncomfortable since you are such close neighbors. The noise was tolerable although you had to conciously try to be quiet because sound has no where to go but within the hotel interior. The groundskeepers would wake you up early! I just returned from a trip to Playa Del Carmen with a few friends and we had a great time. I've been to the area severals times with my wife in the past and it's always been a pleasant experience, staying at a hotel on the beach and enjoying all of the excellent dining options along 5th Ave. I went with my friends to relax, have some drinks(OK, a lot of drinks!) and have some laughs. Just got back from a week at the Blue Parrot, and had a very good time. If you want a nice place, steps from the beach, with an on-site dive shop, passable bar, restaurant, coffee shop and close to all things Playa DC, then this is the place. The rooms are on the small side, but very nice, with fridge, small stove, microwave. I never had any trouble with hot water, so don't know where that comment came from.
