Secluded and Relaxing
Stayed here for a week in May of 2010 in a Garden Bungalow. Room - 4/5 Clean, new & big. Really quite nice, but at the same time nothing special. Resort - 5/5 Very nice pools, great staff, excellent food. Notes - The Passage is the place to come if you want to do absolutely nothing for a week (I mean this in a good way). You are very secluded, as even the beach is empty. We were one of about 5 or 6 couples at the resort (occupancy was probably at 10% or less) and thus made for a very relaxing, quiet stay. The pools are... more
Great stay at the The Passage
We stated at the Passage from Xmas through New Year. The hotel was everything we hoped for and made all the better by the outstanding and professional service. Shopping and restaurants are about 15 minutes away by taxi and the ride can cost up to BHT400 depending on your negotiating skills. The only blemish on a others great stay was the breakfast, which can be improved.
If you want great service in a great quiet location....stay here!!!
The Passage Samui is quite simply paradise in a great unspoilt location. From arriving at the airport and being picked up by the hotel’s driver to being dropped off a week later, all our needs were taken care of at this hotel. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic hideaway this is for you. The staff are absolutely amazing and the facilities are great. The food at the hotel’s ‘Terraces’ restaurant is first class and the range of cocktails on offer was terrific. The hotel is located on the quiet north west coast, about... more
Real people that they can still smile...
I am Greek so I know how a nice beach must look like... September's weather was not the ideal for snorkelling. Koh Samui is not Maldives if you want to experience the sea life so read carefully for what Thailand can offer before you make your choice. It is unfair for the local people to compare it with the wrong places. Amazing nature, amazing people, amazing food, amazing service! Koh Samui airport is a life experience and will make you realise what we are missing. Chat with the local people and you will be amazed with... more
Lovely Hotel and Staff, Beach not great. . .
I really enjoyed my stay at The Passage Samui. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel grounds were well kept and the pools (3 of them) were perfect. I had a standard room which was clean and nicely decorated. The room was air conditioned and had a flat screen TV. The hotel is on the west side of the island so far from the noise and development of Chaweng. This hotel is perfect for someone who wants to be at a remote spot that forces one to do nothing but relax. For dinners the nearest town with good restaurants is Bo... more
Absolutely gorgeous
Very good hotel with very good staff. The location is very romantic and very, very beautiful. We stayed in a superior room which was very beautiful and clean. The hotel has 3 superb pools very well maintained with enough space, not crowded at all. It's in a quite area of the island but can be reached easily to Chaweng or Bophut with shuttle bus provided by the hotel (free of charge) or with tuk-tuk or taxi. Nice touch of the the hotel who offers 2 bottles of water for each person per day. I highly recommend this hotel if you want to be... more
Okay, but wouldn´t go back again
Stayed at the passage for 3 night. My Girlfriend and I have nothing bad to say about the hotel, it is a super nice hotel, friendly staff, great pools, good food, great spa (a little expensive, but we got some vuchers from the hotel - great deal). But.... the location of the hotel is really bad, you can take the free shutttle bus to Chaweng or Naton, but you must pay a taxi back. We toke a trip to naton, but it was a boring experiance and we had to pay 600 TBH to go back (a bit much)! There was a tour arranger next to the hotel, but we... more
Absolutely beautiful, unspoilt luxury. I would go back any time!
This place has to be heaven on earth. It's in a completely unspoilt and slightly isolated part of Koh Samui, which is no mean feat in this vastly over-developed island. Go there quickly before this last oasis disappears forever. We had a luxury bungalow with our own pool - worth every last penny. Huge, comfortable beds, 2 large, flat screen TVs - I forgot to mention our own lounge; our own garden, with our own pool. This is on top of the hotel's 3 pools, one of which is at least 25m long. We could fall out of our garden onto the... more
Nice hotel if you JUST want to relax by the pool.
We booked our 6 nights at The Passage in July through hotels.com and got a very good rate. We got a superior room, and it was alright, nothing more. I had read at the Tripadvisor forum that the hotel was a bit remote, but I expected that it was some small shops/restaurants etc within walking distance. It was not. The food at the hotel was good, but it's nice to eat somewhere else from time to time. We went by taxi to Fisherman's village and Chaweng. It takes about 25-30 minutes and costs ca 6-700 bath from the hotel, and 4-500 home. Try to... more
Beachfront Paradise - The Perfect Wedding Located
Beautiful newly opened resort right on the beach. 3 large pools with sea views, beautiful spacious villas and a great bar! Our friends arrived in Koh Samui and began the search for a lovely location to get married. This place was perfect. Quiet, romantic and great staff providing excellent service. The wedding went perfectly and the whole resort went out of their way to make it special. Resort also provided excellect food + room service. Located about 20min from Chaweng - very quiet & relaxing. Many of the taxis did not yet know of the... more
The hotel was beautifully designed and decorated
My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. This was our first visit to Koh Samui so was not exactly sure what to expect. We were pleasantly suprised!!! The hotel was beautifully designed and decorated, the staff were sp friendly and helpful.
