Horrible Management
If not for my experience at the check-out, my review would be much more positive. But when my family and I were checking out we experienced such rude and reckless behavior from a service oriented business that I would never stay at this hotel again. Allow me to explain. We arrived on a Thursday for four nights in Cabo and checked into out room without any problems. We had to lug all our bags down several flights of stairs because the single employee at the front desk did not seem very enthused about getting anyone to help us (there... more
Nice view but had some problems with roaches and spiders
Marbella Suites has lots of potential. It is a beautifully designed property, the rooms are clean and neat and It is on a beautiful stretch of the beach, wonderful, peaceful view of the ocean. Pleasant staff for the most part but that's really where the positive review ends. I would not recommend staying there. We were there for four nights in the Presidential Suite-- close to $400 per day-- and not a day went by without roaches, gekos or various spiders crawling around. I literally could not sleep for fear of being bitten and the... more
Nice, quiet, picturesque
Marbella En La Playa is a great place to stay if you're looking for a private beach and peaceful, serene surroundings. The place is like a villa nested on the beach. The staff was pleasant, the restaurant food was good and reasonably priced, and the pool and bar were very nice and clean. I think my room was priced a bit on the high side for what it was (we rented the royal suite for a family of four). It was large, but the air cond. in the living room did not work very well even after asking to have it serviced. The house... more
A Diamond in the Rough
Marbella Suites En Playa has SO MUCH potential. The structure of the building is beautiful... but the place really needs some fine tuning. We stayed there because it was one of the few hotels on the beach that wasn't a mega-resort or mega-expensive. It's a boutique-style hotel right in the middle of everything, on a really nice beach. My frustration with the place was the lack of staff and the lack of attention to small details. With just a little more renovation, this hotel could be amazing. The people who work there are... more
Loved the deserted beach and sunset views
We loved the peace and quiet. The Mexican hacienda-style architecture and price were what attracted us. My husband and I speak Spanish and we wanted a place where we could feel comfortable doing so with the staff. It was a real treat to meet and speak with Edgar and Umberto and the young woman tending bar whose name I forget but who resembles actress Salma Hayek. Perfect for those who don't want crowds, drunken parties, and all-inclusive over-indulgences. We visited in November 2006; unfortunately I see from the hotel's Web site that room... more
A Mouse Ran Across my foot! Yuk!!
Don't believe what you see on the website. It does not look like that at all!!!! First of all the reception staff was rude! That was the best part. We were shown to our room (partial view of the ocean meant mostly the view of the roof below us). The room was stifling hot with no air on at all. They said, "this is Cabo, it's hot". If you look at their website, they say A/C in all units. What they should say is, one window unit in each bedroom. We asked to be moved to a cooler unit. We were moved to the depths of the complex (probably... more
Excellent location for Mexican Siesta...
If you're looking for a perfect location dead-center in the Resort Corridor (17 km to downtown San Jose Del Cabo AND Cabo San Lucas)...this is it...Mark and his staff have done yeoman's work since the last time I stayed which was in 2005...I visit every January and stay in a 2br/2ba room with sitting area/kitchenette/2 mini balconies...stay on a 4 or 5 level room to get the best views... The breezes alone are able to keep you cool, but there are 3 AC units (2 in BR, one in LR). It is NOT a full service resort in the manner of... more
Good Place
I stayed in Cabo one day/night at this hotel and it had everything you need for a quiet get-away. The room was nice, the pool area was nice, the beach had plenty of lounge chairs. One thing to note - the bars/restaurants close early so if you are looking for a place to have some drinks and relax before going out you will have to stock up. It all depends on what you want out of your vacation. If I were staying longer, I think I would've picked some place closer to the city. If you want a quiet laid-back vacation then this place would be nice.
Perfect getaway
This hotel was amazing. We stayed in a Deluxe Junior Suite, which is one-bedroom suite with oceanview (room A56). It had one loveseat and one sofabed, a partial kitchen (sink, mini-fridge, plates, glasses, cutlery and microwave), a dining table, shower and vanity, and a large separate bedroom with double bed, alarm clock and safe. The property also had a multimedia room with about 6 really nice computer stations that have high-speed internet connections. A big-screen, satellite television room with ping-pong and foozball tables. A... more
Quiet Getaway, Lovely Hotel, Friendly Staff
My friends and I stayed at the Marbella Suites en la playa at the Tourist Corridor. (Not to be mistaken with Marbella Suites in Cabo San Lucas.) We had SUCH a great time, and the hotel was perfectly suited for us. My sister stayed at a 4 star hotel near downtown Cabo San Lucas, and it felt like she was staying at the Four Seasons. Though it was a beautiful resort, it was not what we wanted. Many of the upscale hotels have a bit too much Vegas Glam, but Marbella Suites on the Beach looks and feels more laid back with their cobble stones... more
