Hotel Residencial S. Algarve

Great rates, very good value for money. Good location, spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly, including the owner. This is my second time and I am looking forward to be back again. F.M

This place was a great deal and a gem to find. Located right near town center. The staff was absolutly the greatest. We had 2 hrs to kill before the train left back to Lisbon and they let us store our bags there while we walked around the town. Great customer service. The romms are small but you are not there to hang out in the room. The rooms where very clean. I would say if you are staying in Faro, this is the place to stay.

We stayed at this lovely little hotel for one night to catch an early flight the next day and found it very easily (with a little help of Google mapping) and it was very well positioned for an early dart. We parked on the road outside as it was quiet but they do have a secure garage with a charge of 5 euros a night - which I think is very reasonable! we stayed for one night on our way to lisbon as it is only a few minutes from the railway station in faro. the room was small but very clean and comftable. The staff were very helpfull to us showing us which way to go to town. we would stay again

The hotel is run by an amiable gas bag who can turn check-in into a one hour production. Impossible to get to by car which is good since there is NO parking. Even the local constabulary were baffled on where this place is. Really tiny rooms in which one has to move over a bed to navigate the room. On the positive side...clean,good, solid breakfast. Folks, a really nice host..but this hotel is for people who do not have a car which they want to be able to see at night, and for people who have hours for a business transaction.The female... more

My husband and I stayed here for one night in June en route to Lagos. The room, although small, was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, which is a must for me. The good continental breakfast was taken in a most delightful courtyard with a fountain. The owner told us how he had to demolish the original building as it was not safe and how he had rebuilt it as near to the original as possible. He also recommended restaurants nearby. We really wished we could have stayed longer and would highly recommend this hotel for its excellent value... more

Must record that we found rooms clean & comfortable, the food & service excellent, and all the staff very friendly and helpfull. Local restaurants superb and inexpensive, interesting shops - and plenty to see - in Faro. Looking forward to going again !

Residencial Algarve was an excellent place to stay. The rooms were clean and the staff friendly, despite our lack of Portugese and their limited English. Breakfast in the dining room was the ideal way to start the day. The only problem was the Internet was expensive, but there is a Internet Cafe down the road. There are also "local" restaurants nearby that the owner often visits and recommends. Faro is a good, central location to visit the Algarve, though transport costs do build-up. Four rooms for two nights in Feb 03. Great rates, very good value for the money. Breakfast was good. Good internet service. Nicest owners/help I have seen. Streetside rooms can have traffic noise. Rooms are nice & very clean. Park on the street in front, well, actually on the sidewalk. Easy walking distance on Rua Infante D. Henrique to everything.

We flew into Faro and stayed a night at the Residencial Algarve in May. With the price being so low, we were not sure what to expect. The staff were very friendly on our arrival and the rooms were small, however very clean. Breakfast was a typical Portuguese pastry with ham and cheese or jam. The staff was helpful when it came to suggesting a restaurant and giving directions. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone for overnight stays.

Stayed here for 3 nights (Dec 02). Good location, spotlessly clean, adequate breakfast. The staff were helpful and welcoming, all for 52 euros per night for a triple room. Great for a short winter break, the sun shone, and using inexpensive local transport, had a whirlwind tour around the principle areas of the algarve. We particularly liked Tavera an hours bus ride from Faro.
