Le Meurice

A very welcoming hotel staff - helpful and pleasant. Room was usual small size for France. The bathroom and shower were big enough for us. (My husband is a big man.) Everything was spotlessly clean. Ask for a non-smoking room if you do not like the smell. You can walk everywhere in a few minutes. We are a mixed race couple and we had NO problems. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

We stayed 5 nights in May 2007 at the Le Meurice and are again delighted with this hotel. The rooms are all tastefully furnished, clean, well maintained and quiet. The inner city location could hardly be better. The pedestrian zone is just around the corner and the famous Promenade des Anglais can be reached within few minutes of walk.

We stayed four nights at Le Meurice in Nice during the first week of May, 2007. We took the train from Paris to Nice and it is just a 15 to 20 minute walk from the Niceville train station to the hotel. It is in a very good location, just a block from the Mediteranean and very close to Old Nice. The hotel has an elevator and our room was quite adequate. This is a great little hotel with around 20 rooms. It is located on Avenue de Suede, right behind the main promanade. Ask for a room overlooking the front with a balcony, you'll pay a little more but these are both good rooms. The hotel has recently been refurbished and while it only has a little reception and breakfast room in terms of facilities, the rooms are well equipped and a great size for Nice. We stayed in Le Meurice in July 2006 for 4 nights. This hotel is in one of the best locations in Nice! Easy walking to the beach (2-3 small blocks), right by a nice pedestrian area (with many nice shops and restaurants),and easy/nice walk to the Old town. The main shopping district/mall is an easy 10-15 minute walk...which is good, you don't want to get any closer or you would be too far from the best places to visit. I stayed here for one night in October 2006 and thought the hotel was good vale for money. I paid 100€ for the double bed room, Athénais (see photos). It was a lovely little room, complete with balcony looking down the street towards the Promenade des Anglais. Some of the rooms on the hotel's website looked a bit cheesy, which is the reason I asked specifically for the Athenais room. We stayed at the hotel Le Meurice for a weekend, the location is really great, close to the beach and to the pedestrian street. We had the large room because the other one were all booked but we did not really need that much space. The street could be loud at night but the room had air-conditioning that worked properly so the noise was blocked out. I stayed at the Hotel Meurice for a week, and overall it was a very pleasant stay. The location could not be much better, it's very close to the city center (Place Massena) and the famous Promenade des Anglais. The room was neat, and very clean. However, the bed was rather short, even I who is only 1m79 had to sleep in a diagonal position. Another point is that the breakfast is poor value for money. Hotel Le Meurice is a wonderful small hotel! With just 23 rooms and a small lobby, it presents great charm upon arrival. The location is ideal for exploring Vieux Nice, the seashore (just a few hundred meters away) and the other areas of Nice. The SNCF station is an easy one-mile walk away. The rooms, however, are generously proportioned and the staff is very helpful and kind to guests with limited French langauage skills. Le Meurice is a fairly small and simple furnished hotel near Place Massena It is very convenient to walk to Cour Saleya and about 10 mins walk to the Promenade. There are plenty of restaurants and breakfast cafes around. The room was a little small especially the bathroom but we supposed the land in Cote-d-Azur is so precious~ nevertheless we had a nice stay in Nice.It's so good to have a hotel so central to all the action, so that we can just drop our stuff back into hotel, freshen up and got ready for our dinner just round the corner!
