Caol Ishka Hotel

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for part of our honeymoon. While the property is nice and the modern design very unique, they need to think a few things through as it seems a bit of style over substance. The main issue however, is that the hotel is located right next to a major road which can be seen from the hotel. This didn't create a noise problem, but it's not particularly romantic. This hotel is amazing! We stayed there this April for a long weekend, and everything was perfect. The hotel is a designers dream, not to mention being spotless, having excellent food, and the friendliest staff we have encountered in a long time. Everyone is there to help make your stay as perfect as they can, and they do! It is a bit pricier than hotels in this area, but it is truly worth every penny. Just got back from a wondeful weekend in Syracuse. We actually didn't see much of the town... we stayed at Caol Ishka. We loved the pool so much we spent 2 whole days there and at night we ate in the amazing restaurant. It's so peaceful and beautiful... the perfect place to relax and do nothing. We stayed in room 8 and loved the decor - old and new tastefully merged together. Just like the food... masterfully revised Sicilian dishes. We'll definitely keep this place in mind for the next trip to Italy. V+S, London

We stayed here for 2 nights in a deluxe room and liked it so much that we felt compelled to write a review, since it is a small hotel that just opened last year. Our room was spacious, with high ceilings, very simple and modern but tasteful furnishings, a large soaking bathtub, and a small deck (on the shared lawn). The outdoor bar area has comfortable seating that is perfect for evening cocktails. There is a large lawn and pool, and a small river in the back. Hotel was lovely but not cheap. Regular food lovely but stayed one night when they had a sushi night and it was terrible, have eaten sushi even in Japan but this was way off the mark. The staff in the resturant were lovely, very helpful and nice. This is not in town so you NEED a car to stay here.

Oh my God! I loved this quaint little hotel, everything you would wish for with outstanding scenery, food and most of all staff. This is now going to be my yearly vacation hotel! If staying here, you really gotta check out the fine cuisine in the restaurant....mmmm

I recently spent 5 days in Syracuse, staying at Caol ishka hotel. What a beautiful hotel, the staff were so friendly and warm. The restaurant was also a treat, having dined here most evenings. The scenery from our room was breath taking and the room design was like something out of a magazine. So very comfortable with an excellent blend of modern and retro design. I would highly recomend this hotel if every visiting Orintigo.

My wife and I were in Siracusa for four days and this small boutique hotel suited our every need. The hotel is a short distance from the old town of Ortigia. Caol Ishka was as quiet as can be with a nice pool and beautiful open outdoor spaces . Our room was beautifully furnished and the air conditioning felt great. The modern bathroom is a rare find in Sicily. Each morning we enjoyed our complimentary breakfast in the veranda outside our room . Special. I had the amazing feeling of a mix between fashion and tradition. The hotel is set up in a very quite area right outside Siracusa and has all it takes to make you feel in a special place. Rooms are really peculiar, the restaurant a lovely atmosphere and the bar some really interesting aged bottles. Staff is really friendly and service is of a very high level. This is a stop I highly recommend during a tour of Sicily.

I visited the little village of Ortigia in Sicily recently with my wife and happened across Caolishka and i'm already looking forward to my return. For a new hotel, everything about it from the service, the attitude of the staff, the food, the wine, the surroundings.......i could not fault it!!! We relaxed for 4 days, did very little but theres plenty to do in the area. If you read this review make sure you go to Caolishka one day....you wont be disappointed! From a seasoned traveller
