Not Up to standard for five stars hotel
I spent a night at the deluxe seaview room. The price is decent as it includes breaklfast. They took almost one an a hour to check us in. I must say the room was huge and new but the balcany door-lock was broken, the shower drainage was not working properly as it should. Like the room decoration and the removable bathroom wall. Overall, the resort is small and lifely. Most of the staffs were polite and helpful except one of the waitress at the breakfast. Initially, we were asking for orange juice but the answer was "NO Orange... more
They want to make it great - maybe it will be
Overall good stay for five days with two kids. We started on one of the two beach villas - which would be perfect for a couple, or couple with a small kid. Too small for us. Moved to a very decent sized one bedroom suite - GM was quite hands on in the whole thing, good to see. We visited the other options in Hua Hin - and while they were good , Intercont has the POTENTIAL to be the best. Great pools, great service, hard to fault (unless you are terribly picky like me) - Beach Sports - easy to add, totally lacking - Kids... more
the best in Hua Hin
it's actually my last day here and with my family we are already counting the days to come back, Intercontinental is really a charming hotel with human size, it was build with areal respect of surroundings (not like some other skyscrapers hotels here) Since we arrived everything was perfect, our room was not ready, they kindly give us another room till ours was ready, we got fresh towels and welcome drinks and were shown the hotel facilities. (Nice Library with DVD's and lots of books) + WIFI in ALL resort... The swimming pool is very... more
Trendy/boutique resort - great
We stayed here for 5 nights over CNY and were pleasantly surprised by the resort. It has a real trendy/boutique feel (for a 5 star chain at least) and after speaking to the manager, Intercon are planning several more of these modern smaller types of resorts across Asia. We stayed in the Ocean view room and it was bigger than expected, with a large balcony, with a view of the ccean through a few trees. The rooms are tastefully done and modern, with a large Samsung plasma tv and Bose sound system. There is an open concept bathroom with the... more
Amazing and new, luxurious resort.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Welcome drinks upon arrival. The hotel was new, there was even some construction on going. (But it was quiet and did not disturb me at all) So all the amenities (including rain shower were new). The rooms were quite honestly the plushest and nicest I have ever stayed in. The view of the pool and beach was amazing. The staff was very kind and helpful. Really no reason to leave the resort unless you wanted to go golfing or something. More of a couples retreat than anything. Not such a hip young,... more
the beds are truly amazing
Brand new resort located in a truly beautiful beach-side location. Pure luxury all the way. Our stay here was perfect, staff were helpful when needed but also very descreet. The resorts location to the shopping centre and night markets is the only drama, its to far to walk into town in the heat so tuk-tuks or taxis is the only option, the resort has a shuttle bus coming in the future and this will make getting around very easy. Im totally in love with Hua Hin. And im totally in love with this resort! Stay there, stay there , stay there... more
All that glitters isnt gold & the Intercon Hua Hin aint no glitter!
My partner and I stayed at the Intercontinental during the Xmas holidays for 3 nights; we moved from the Alila Cha-am where we had spent 3 glorious nights. The entrance of the hotel was right smack on the main road - no drive in's like the Anantara with the hope of some seclusion, but we didn't mind as we had chosen the hotel for its locality and price. The check-in was pretty straight forward - as I was also scouting for venues for an upcoming event, every detail of the hotel and how they handled guest would be important. We checked into... more
FANTASTIC
I stayed for 5 nights at the new Intercontinental in an Pool Suite room, the Suite is huge with separate living room, bathroom ( with another sofa), very big bathroom with jacuzzi and dinning space/table . The best is the private pool with jacuzzi . The main pool is incredibly big, has several jacuzzi from cold to hot water and direct access to the beach with is not to crowed the location is a little off the main buzz ( around sofitel, Hilton) but you can walk along the beach to go there. The restaurant are very nice, directly on the... more
Could be better...when service improve and minor design fault taken care of
Arrival / Check-in: Arrive after dark around 8pm and after a 3.5hours tiring road trip from BKK due to bad traffic. Taxi Limo pull into a dark and somewhat deserted drive way with no sight of guards/staff etc (this worry me about security of the resort later), however bell service did “pop” out to collected luggage's and asked for last name and prepare reception in advance, good job. Lobby was non air-condition but cooling, high ceiling and warm local arty decoration with elements of wood used. Check in was resort... more
Best big chain resort in Hua Hin
The following review is based on design detail, so please feel free to skip this review if it is not of interest to you. Arrived in the afternoon from Bangkok, served fresh towel and welcome drink almost immediately. Check in was quick and we are requested to wait at the lush courtyard for a few minutes until our room is ready. The room: We then ushered to our room, the lovely pool terrace room, which has a private pool access directly from the terrace. Once you stepped into the room there is wardrobe/luggage rack/minibar on... more
not media friendly!
Being in Hua Hin for an extensive media coverage of the finest hotels in the area, I decided to visit the Intercontinental considering it is a totally new establishment. I was put off initially by the location, its' entrance being right on the main road, but decided to see what is behind the facade. I arrived there early evening, not to actually stay but to dine and have a feel of the place. The decor and architecture are pretty worthwhile, especially from the vantage point of the beach looking upwards! The lobby is attractive, and the Thai... more
