Hotel La Coluccia

We loved this hotel. The setting is unbelievably tranquil and beautiful. The hotel is set back about 50 metres from a private, sandy beach, with lovely warm waters. Between the beach and hotel there's a winding path dotted with Sardinian pine trees. Among the trees there are teak chairs where you can curl up with a book, and even have lunch. If you love sitting by water and doing absolutely nothing (except eating and drinking very well), this is your hotel. We booked La Coluccia - like many others it seemed - after reading about it on the Mr&Mrs Smith website. It was highly recommended and we were not disappointed. The hotel itself is beautiful - a very ambient setting with lovely grounds and the staff were amongst the friendliest we've ever met. The room we had was just ok though. It had a strong smell of stagnant water - probably because the shower is actually located in the bedroom and not separately. La Coluccia is such an amazing hotel, when we arrived we just couldn't believe how beautiful it was. It is set on a small beach with a great view of the sea . There is also a beautiful garden set by the beach with loungers to relax on under the trees - a great idea for those who need to take the occasional breaks from the sun! There are many nice things about La Coluccia, but be aware that the rooms are tiny, and we had plumbing problems in two different rooms. The first flooded after about 3 minutes of running the shower. The pipe under the sink leaked in the 2nd room. The beach is very tiny and divided into La Coluccia and what appears to be either a public beach or a homeowners association. July 3rd – July 10th La Coluccia hotel is at Conca Verde, 7km from Sta. Teresa di Gallura. It’s a really nice hotel with its own beach and a fantastic pool. The beach is ok for one or two days but if you want to visit the great sardinian beaches you’ll have to drive to Principe, Capriccioli… (both near Porto Cervo). Words cannot really describe our experience at this incredible hotel or in this beautiful country. My partner and I were well overdue a holiday and chose sardinia after hearing wonderful things about the beaches and landscapes there. La coluccia repeatedly came up in our search for a boutique hotel and the reviews were all very positive. We were lucky to find availability and we didn't hesitate to book it. I just wanted to answer to the bored person from London. If you cannot relax then don´t go on holidays. That´s this typical London City - all night long action - mentality. Rather stay at home and work 24 hours.

La coluccia is a really beautiful hotel-yes the rooms are small but really and truly if you take one look at the pool area you wont care-and they're not so small that you cant move. The beds are still big and comfy and there is enough space to store you stuff.We had a room overlooking the garden and it was fine-we only really spent an hour or two before dinner in there anyway. This hotel is perfect if you just want to soak up sun,swim and eat in really grgeous surroundings. Really convenient if you have a baby as the sea is literally right... more

Excellent hotel, very good value in Sep/ Oct. Idyllic setting on the coast with private beach and a lovely pool. Very peaceful. Food delicious; cocktails and canapes by the pool as the sun went down before supper was a real treat. Friendly staff. Only downside was that the room (we went for the cheapest option) was a pretty small and noise seemed to travel quite clearly from the corridor/ balcony outside.

We spent 10 days at La Coluccia right at the peak of the season between the second and third week of August this year.We initially booked a week and than extended for an other 3 days as we really enjoyed the whole experience....Before i booked this place i have read plenty of reviews on this site and i was very concerned of the contrasting views expressed by so many people ...but than again it depends what you are really looking for when you go on holiday and in this respect La Coluccia fitted our needs .
