Have recently returned from a weeks stay at the IFA Faro Hotel. It is a beautiful hotel situated right on the beach, with excellent facilities. It has recently been refurbished so everything is like brand new, including the accommodation which was kept very clean and tidy by our chambermaid. The hotel itself was also kept spotlessly clean.
Most of the rooms have a sea view, we stayed in room 1233 which had a lovely view of the sea and surrounding areas from the balcony. The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful and they really know how to make you feel welcome. Although I would say that the ability to speak Spanish would be very useful as we sometimes found it difficult communicating with some of the staff, but this could be due to the majority of the guests at the hotel at the time of our stay being German, on a number of occasions the staff spoke to us in German which was quite confusing at times!
Food at the hotel was very good, with lots of variety at the evening buffet, and the menu was also very good. If you are on a half board basis you can buy lunch and snacks at the pool bar, although we didn't get round to eating at this bar as we went out to the nearby cafe's and restaurants instead.
Maspalomas itself is a lovely quiet resort which I would recommend to couples and families who are after a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.
If you are interested in going on any excursions I would recommend Palmitos Park which was absolutely stunning, especially the Birds of Prey show which was amazing. We caught a taxi there which cost 13 Euros, we caught a bus back to the bus station near the hotel which only cost 3 euros 60 for two of us, so I would recommend catching the bus if you do go there. The bus station is approx 5 mins walk from the hotel.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely go back to Maspalomas and the IFA Faro Hotel, although I will be taking Spanish lessons first!
