Centara Grand Beach Resort Phuket

When I first looked this hotel up online it was yet to be rated on trpiadvisor as it had only just opened. I booked it anyway.. we stayed at this hotel during its 'soft opening' period, and despite it being nearing completion, we were not disappointed. There were a few villas and workmen/gardeners on site, however this never bothered us in the slightest. Enjoyable two week vacation at the brand new beach resort. We stayed with two young children and two grandparents in two rooms. It seems that all rooms have seaview. The rooms were very nice and soundproofed properly. Bathroom had marble allover. The floor was a bit slippery, though. My parents had an extensive balcony, which we used few times for dining with the family. Food was excellent in all occasions, as parents I was taken with food quality at the pool bar. We stayed here for 14 nights from 20th November and had, what can only be described as, the best holiday ever! We have stayed in numerous 5* resorts all over the world and this one topped them all. From the moment we arrived until we checked out our experience was superb and we could not have asked for more. Got back from Thailand a week ago, and absolutely loved the Centara Grand Beach Resort. Not only was everything sparkly and shiny, with a new smell and well organised, there were high standards in service,in staff and in their facilities. We have just returned from a fantasic 8 day stay at the Centara Grand, how wonderful is this place. It is truly out of this world, the staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome.The rooms are gorgeous, we stayed in room 637 on third floor with a view of the beach, pool and the lazy river. We arrived late at night and had been told that the hotel was not fully open, so we were not surprised by the temporary lobby, the warm welcome of the staff made up for this. The room was the basic suite and was more than adequate for our 10 night stay, very clever design with open bathroom which can be closed off at anytime. We arrived in Phuket late in the evening to a downpour, the taxi ride from airport takes around 1 hour [though it could be due to it being so new, the taxi driver didnt know where he was going]. The welcome relief to arrive at hotel and be shown our wonderful room made up for the rain!. Hotel rooms are plush and the beds very comfortable. The Centara Grand Beach Resort Karon is a fantastic property. While it is true the property is still being finished i found very little to no disturbance for the 13 nights I stayed there. We stayed from the 13th to the 25th of November, both the Mare and Cove restaurants were open and delicious, The pool areas were open (a total of 5 separate areas offering children friendly pools as well as the hotels "lazy river") I had a wonderful time, with the hotel being so new it has only made me want to go back to see what it would look... more

We had booked the Centara Grand Beach and was informed it would open on 1 November 2010, we would normally of flown out to Thailand on the saturday to start our holiday but because we wanted to stay at the Centara we went on the sunday. The Asia World rep was waiting for us at the airport and informed us that we could not stay at the Centara as it was not finished and had booked us at the Kata Thani. Just got back to Sydney after 9 glorious nights at Centara Grand Beach resort. Though the resort is not fully complete it is beautiful. The location right on the beach with lush green mountains behind is unforgettable. The staff at Centara Grand are the most genuienly caring and thoughful people we have ever encountered on any of our vacations. We are already planning a trip back next year.
