perfect pillows and bed to match at the Primrose Hotel
Perfect Pillows and bed to match at the Primrose Hotel. The curtains were also brilliant as they successfully blocked out the light if required (so no early morning sun interrupting your sleep!) The room was spotless, the sound of the sea providing the perfect background sound to send you to your slumbers. The quality radio was also much appreciated as I like to listen to radio programmes first thing in the morning. The staff were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts and (homemade) bread were lovely and the... more
very warm welcoming and unique hotel.
We found this beautiful MODERN hotel in St Ives, the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them in making your stay as enjoyable as possible. The rooms are all both beautifully decorated and unique, as for attention to detail, nothing has been over looked and is spotlessly clean! If you want a relaxing holiday in St Ives, we strongly recommend you stay here and if budget stretches far enough, the suit is purely sumptuous! We will most definitely both recommend this hotel to our friends and family and... more
Heavenly Brekkies!
What a little gem by the sea! We arrived early yet were looked after with tea and cake with no fuss. The room was superb, and we loved what they did with the bathroom - so much so, we have taken inspiration and ideas from it for our new home! The staff were so helpful, friendly and very attentive. The breakfasts were divine, all local produce and views of the sea to boot. We got engaged whilst we were here and Cornwall will always hold a special place in our hearts. We may even take over the hotel with a wedding party... more
St. Ives at its best
The great position on the best beach; the stylish, but relaxing ambiance; the superlative breakfasts all sourced locally, good service and great attention to detail make this a 'must-stay' venue in this beautiful, artistic Cornish resort.
A Little Gem!
My wife and I spent a week at The Primrose Valley Hotel in August 2007. Everything was fantastic. The location, staff, beakfast, bar and rooms (although we did have the smallest one!- they did warn us beforehand but it was fine). We rarely visit the same place twice but we are tempted with this one!
perfect location
We have been going to St Ives for 40 years and always went self-catering with our growing family. Now it's just the two of us we can treat ourselves and we think we have found the perfect location - the Primrose Valley Hotel. We have stayed for several years running, always in June/July and have witnessed the transformation of the hotel in Sue and Andrew's hands. It is still the friendly, relaxed place it always was, but now has a contemporary and stylish polish. The breakfasts are always well presented and tasty, we have a wonderful... more
The easiest decision i make each year
I and my now 4 year old daughter Ellie Rose have been staying twice per year at the Primrose Valley Hotel since 2003. The location is priceless and In Sue, Andrew and Rose's hotel I have found the perfect antedote to the years' stresses. In fact I track my year by the dates of my next "fix" of stylish comfort and genuine warmth which is their trademark. I would defy Rip Van Winkle not to get a great night's sleep in the Primrose Valley's beds - and where do they get those duvets and pillows!! Breakfasts are outstanding and all the more... more
So good we returned this year
With family in the area we know St Ives very well. Prior to 2006 we had stayed at various places in St Ives and the surrounding area which were comfortable without being anything special. It therefore came as a very pleasant surprise to find Primrose Valley. Initially the website was very informative and we were not disappointed by what we found on our arrival. The location next to Porthminster beach is ideal. The accommodation and service could not be faulted. Altogether our stay at the hotel in 2006 was an an extremely... more
How the British Seaside Should Be!
Having been to St Ives on day trips before, we were struck by just how perfect this place is for a family holiday, now we've found a hotel to match. The Primrose Valley is a small, chic hotel, which has the feeling of staying in someone's house. It should be an example to other hoteliers of just how good the British seaside should be. The staff are welcoming and very friendly and the owners themselves are very hands on -- even getting up early to cook the superb breakfast!!! This is something the owners clearly take a real pride in, with... more
The Bullocks Sea View
This year was our 5th year at Primrose Valley Hotel and by now it is not so much like visiting a holiday hotel but more like staying with friends. Breakfasts are ' to die for' with a vast choice of mainly local produce. Rooms are furnished and decorated to a high standard and very comfortable. The Lounge, Dining Room and Bar are pleasant, relaxing and contemporary. Hospitality is excellent, warm and inviting. Our usual 2 sea view balcony rooms are already booked for May 2008. St.Ives offers a wide range of restaurants and superb sandy... more
