We came to Homeric Poems for our honeymoon and stayed in the bottom suite (the Achilles room?) for three nights, and we were enchanted with the experience. The room was tastefully appointed and utterly romantic (even the bathroom had a huge window overlooking the caldera -- you could watch the sunset from the bathtub), with an adorable little private balcony jutting out over the cliffside. We decided on Homeric Poems for the first four days of our honeymoon and could not have been happier! Margarita was the perfect hostess and her staff could not have been more helpful! We arranged for a transfer from the airport to the hotel beforehand, and were dropped off in a parking lot where we were immediately met by a staff member from the hotel, who transported all of our luggage directly to our room for us. The hotel has a beautiful view of the caldera and is very peaceful. If you are looking for a place to relax that is very quiet and private this the the place to be. It has a great pool and bar area. We stayed in a large room one night and in a small room the next. The small rooms are too small for 2 people in that one side of the stationery bed is against the wall. The rooms were very clean. We would stay there again.

My brother had previously stayed here and recommended it, so my wife and I went and spent 4 days here. This place is the greatest view I've ever had anywhere (absolutely gorgeous balconies). It is hard to take a bad picture in Thira, but I think it is impossible to take a bad picture on this scenic property. It's close enough to nightlife for convenience, but far enough away to be quiet. We stayed at Homeric Poems from June 11-15, 2006 and loved every minute there. While in Greece we went to Athens, Poros, Hydra, Santorini and Mykonos, and Santorini was our favorite island, and Homeric Poems was by far our favorite hotel! We made our arrangements lass than a week before our arrival, so we had to change rooms twice for them to accomodate us. The hotel is average to below average in our opinion. We stayed there from 6/1-6/3 and weren't too impressed. When we arrived the taxi couldn't find the hotel because there wasn't much signage. The hotel manager had to meet us at the taxi and then took us to the entrance of the hotel. She booked us in and took us to our room, 77 stairs down. It seemed like she really didn't want to spend much time with us and was wanting to leave and when we asked questions she was not too eager to answer them. We stayed in the Homeric Poems Honeymoon Suite for 3 nights and were extrememely pleased with the service we received and the quality of the facilities. The views are unbeatable and all of the staff go out of their way to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. With hindsight we would have paid the extra to stay for the full week rather than staying in 2 different accommodations. We stayed at Homeric Poems in July of 2003 for our one year anniversary. I looked around at a lot of the higher priced places but I can say without a doubt we made the right decision by staying here. I have never seen another place in the world where you can be sitting in a pool and looking out at the caldera of a ancient volcano that is filled with water. Great place, great service, amazing view of the Caldera, and close proximity to Fira without the noise from the downtown clubs.

My boyfriend and I truly enjoyed the trip to Santorini. The hotel location, view and service from all the staff was unforgettable. You can NOT go wrong w/ this hotel. Margarita made sure everything was taken care of to our satisfaction the whole stay. Thanks for a memorable trip!
