Perfect..for us

I think we have been 3 times perhaps 4...the brain and body tends to shut down at this hotel. Do you want to be active,im not gonna list the good things to do so Ill say this..there is enough to keep you active in the grounds of the hotel, or you can just slob. We didnt leave the grounds at all on our first visit.
Dont look here for exciting night life, yes there are great visiting shows but it all ends at about 11pm which means you can sleep in your bed instead of being bounced in it by a big base speaker. Loads of places to dance the night away not too far away or a cheap taxi ride to Ingles. After a day of doing nothing we were too exhausted to go out.
We all differ in taste and wants and needs. In 40 years of travel I can say I keep going back. The adults only area is a big plus for those with children, as you know they are not annoying anyone because if they are the people can escape to the adults only area(with own pool) and for those who want to escape..you cant even hear the blessed little creatures.
Food is brilliant and Ive heard complaint its designer and therefore not enough in quantity. Ask for another helping then?? Thats what I do. The ethos of this hotel is..tell us if you have a problem and we will solve it..and they do. Food is fantastic. The Manager is a guest first lady..and very visible, she strives to make your stay as perfect as is humanly possible.
Look, if you want to eat champagne and strawberries for breakfast, then do so, its here, along with a full english fry up, or a healthy (yuk) cardboard and fruit breakfast. They thought of everything. The chef makes it to order.
Why am I writing this...because I saw it when searching for the best deal to go back to this hotel in a few days time. We could go to Cancun, Cuba, Aus and S Africa, but for us there is nowhere that just has everything in one spot.
Above all however is the staff, they are just soo friendly and attentive, some having worked here for 20 years plus. If they are happy, it transfers to the client.
I can recomend the half board option and if you feel snackish at lunch grab a morsel and pay in your final bill, it works out cheaper. on half board if you want to eat out on a night have your lunch as the second meal. Full board I got too full, and I can put it away.
Is it expensive, nope, not for what you get. Does it cost alot of money, yes, so save up a bit more its worth it.
The treatments in the wellness center are A1 according to my gorgeous lady, however Im not going to waste money on my face when I can be having an ice cold lager...be reasonable.
Lastly from 4pm till 8pm the free saunas, 1xUcalyptus steam 1x small warm dry 1x large heavy humid hot dry 1xice cold plunge pool and cold showers are open. This is an adult nude/optional swimwear area. Perhaps not your thing but if you want to wake up and go to your room feeling invigorated with tingling skin this is the place plus several sunbeds for nude sunbathing. If you frown on this..easy..dont go in. Its liberating and refreshing not having soggy swimwear on.
Towels for everything including the beach are provided.
We get through 10 a day all in all.
Character..am I easily pleased? Cynical I guess, I dont expect alot out of holidays abroad as you are at the mercy of others. Is she easily pleased...you are joking?
Were we both pleased with this hotel...after our first visit we returned 5 weeks later. We were amazed at the level of service. Its all down to the staff and the management philosiphy.
I hope this helps, if I gushed its because we love the place, its perfect for us. Oh one last thing..my lady is a veggie apart from fish. She loved the food..and the sweets were heaven.
The grounds are very large and flood lit at night.Nice for romantic walks...
Client 90-40yr=70%,40-22=25%,22-18=0-75%,18-0yrs=4.25%
So 18 to 22 yr olds looking for excitment noise flings and generally enjoying their youth..forget it.. youll be bored in 30 minutes.

Good fit depending on the scene you're after

Palm Beach in Maspalomas is nice enough hotel. Lots of rooms with decent to good views, the pool area is large and clean, and the service was generally helpful. Was impressed they didn't give us a hard time about misunderstanding on a charge and they removed it without problem.
I think the hotel tends to cater towards an older crowd, as we found ourselves in definitely minority being mid 30s. Wasn't overly impressed with the food -- breakfast probably the best of the three meals. The spa was definitely appealing for a massage.
Biggest disappointment was the surrounding beach area which is pretty rocky and not much to walk on, but it is closeby.

Old style European hotel
9 / 10
Aug 2010, ready to retire to the beach

This is a wonderful hotel, though I can see why the reviewers seem to contradict each other. The building was designed in one style and then added to and then updated in a modernist style. But the service style is still consistently the old style European way - understated, exacting, and elegant.
We loved our stay here. We only stayed a a week last November, but there was such a relaxing unintrusive level of service and assistance, it was blissfully relaxing. For us there were many more services than we would ever wish to use - the beach is still our favourite place - and what a beach! We will be returning to Maspalomas, though we may go for a less expensive place to stay. It was a real treat.

Have stayed at the Seaside Palm Beach Hotel in Maspalomas, Gran Canaria, now three times... Yes, it's expensive - but you get what you pay for! We always had a pool view room - great view of the pool, very modern good sized room, contemporary decor and very clean and tidy. Common areas such as restaurant, reception etc are fantastic, high standard of service and generally has the 'up market' feel. Pool area very nice, large gardens so even when the hotel is full, plenty of small quiet areas to spread out and get away from main areas. Two large pools - one directly outside hotel, other large pool outside the spa centre. Smaller heated pool in private area, near open air gym, sauna/steam room etc... lovely at the end of the day when the sun goes in! Only downside is if you go half board, several days a week you have to go in the very formal (very "posh") restaurant, which means a fixed three course meal - if you're like me, you'd rather have more food and less quality, so the buffets suit me more. Would suggest on the days when it's not buffet dinner (served outside) then you have lunch as part of your half-board instead, and then head out to one of the restaurants near the Lighthouse at Maspalomas for dinner (about a 10 minute walk away)... There are also some new designers shops about 10 minute walk from Hotel beyond the Lighthouse, which are worth looking at, and the main Maspalomas sand dunes beach is only 3 minutes' walk away. Overall, would go back to Seaside Palm Beach time after time - if you want something up market, special (no children) and no riff-raff, then this is the hotel for you! (But it's not cheap!).

Absolutely brilliant hotel. The best hotel I have ever stayed in! It really is 5*. Beautifully designed hotel inside and out. The rooms are very nice and very clean. The rooms are cleaned twice daily. The hotel staff are very nice and helpful.
The two pools are lovely. One pool has underwater music and massage jets. There is also a gym and a spa. The African bar outside is lovely and you have everything you could ever want in the breakfast buffet outside, but there dinner menu is horrible and not suited for children or teens.
The location is perfect and near the beach, shops, restaurants and other places such as Playa del Ingles and Puerto Rico. There are no kiddies clubs but there is a children’s pool and playground and a babysitting service. There are also lots of sports such as tennis, chess and darts. If you want a relaxing holiday in style in Gran Canaria this is the place to go!

I have just come back from a wonderful relaxing holiday at the Palm Beach hotel. The Palm Beach made sure you had every comfort needed attended to.
Our room was modern, clean, and spacious, the bathroom in particular was excellent in design and comfort. The food was wonderful, there was something for everyone, the meat and fresh seafood were beautiful. The hotels gardens were also lovely and attended to well. I enjoyed taking part in tai chi classes which were held in the relaxing gardens.
Also the fresh water pool was excellent there was no fight for sun beds as there was plenty for everyone. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Don’t believe the hype. The hotel is not a design temple, just a nice try to hide the bad architectural mistakes done in the past. If Frankenstein would design a hotel, the palm beach would be it.
If you are under 60 don’t go there in October. We were suffering big time. And the worst of all: it is expensive. Very expensive. And it’s just not worth it.
