Great Family Hotel
from A TripAdvisor Member
Okay so it's not the Ritz but if you want a great comfortable stay at a family run business then stay here. The rooms are clean and tidy and adequate with a bit of a tight sqeeze in the show, but where don't you have to in Italy. As for the restaurant I have never seen one that was full every night like this place. Luigi and his parents do a fantastic job of looking after you and class all quests as part of their extended family. It's like going to grandma's for dinner with seconds if required. To top it off we got a hug and kiss...

Not even a 1 star Hotel
from LilBeethoven
To say we stayed here is almost correct. We actually stayed in the hotel for 6 hours. Things looked bad when the coach wasn't able to drop us off near the hotel as its situated down a small alley which is crossed by a bridge carrying the main railway from Naples to Sorrento. So you have to take your life in your hands crossing the main Sorrento road , on a bend with heavy suitcases in tow. Once we were ushered in to the hotel we were immediatley struck by how dated the place was. Its old, crumbling and dirty. We waited in the lobby,...

the worst hotel I have ever stayed in
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed there in August .The hotel club was allocated to us on arrival.Everything everybody else has said re this place is correct. The food was awful, the noise constantfrom trains scrap yards, bells. the room small,no place to hang your clothes ,no clean towels only thin cloths. you paid 10euros for air conditioning.plastic garden chairs in the reception. They were totally out of their depth.I would not give them 1 star rating .it was a real disappointmentas I was recovering from a serious operation. We have never complained about...

The Bells!
from sdjSeattle_WA
A friend and I stayed the Hotel Club Sorrento which is really in Saint Angello. The hotel was decent and very close to the train station (for going into Sorrento or to Pompeii). In reading everyone else complaints... yes it is true that the church bells ring at 0630 and go on for awhile yet wear some ear plugs! I would recommend this hotel to someone looking for a good deal and isn't afraid to walk to Sorrento (15 minute walk) or take the train.
Not as bad as we thought
from A TripAdvisor Member
We were a little worried about staying at this hotel after reading the reviews on this website, how ever we didn't mind the hotel, our room was basic, although the shower flooded the floor if not careful we found our room to be clean although the toilet area could do with a real scrub. We liked the hotel staff as we found them very friendly and they tried really hard to make every one feel happy, I must admit that Angelo the hotel owner did make us laugh with his constant walking up and down with his wine trolly, and he really did like you...

Security Blunder
from Karrie0
The safety deposit box arrangement at this hotel consists of a safe behind reception where you are given an envelope to place your valuables in, reception place it in the safe & extract it for you. The costs are 2 euros per day, with no partial refund at the end. On one occassion when giving back the envelope for safe keeping the receptionist placed it on the desk top at reception till she finished what she was doing, she then left it on the desk top & vanished, luckilly I was still in reception to retreive it pending arrival of another...

cheap but not cheerful
from auldhuddy
Having just returned from Italy where we stayed at the Hotel Club, we were extremely grateful it was a last minute cheap holiday, and we had not paid the full price otherwise we would never have accepted the room we were allocated. It was below swimming pool level so the view we had was of the pool wall, not two pieces of furniture in the room matched, there was not one drawer in the room therefore we lived out of our suitcase for the most part. We had to shower in stages to avoid flooding the shower tray, as it did not drain well. No...

Don't Go !!
from skolzi
3 star, never. Basic food, basic accommodation, penny pinching attitude of the owners. Then there is the question of high level constant noise from a variety of sources - * church bells all day & all night * next to the train lines, trains rumbling from 5am to midnight every day * street noise from the nearby main road, all day & all night, scooters, motorbikes, cars, waggons & busses all tooting at each other * almost forgot about the generator at the pool which cranked into action every hour or so. I have...

Personal and Friendly
from A TripAdvisor Member
I was dreading my stay at this hotel having read previous reviews but thankfully I was pleasantly surprised. It is a two star hotel in Italy and you really do get what you pay your money for. We had a great holiday and found the hotel to be a great base to travel and see all the fantastic sights around the area. The room was clean and we had our towels changed every day - shower worked perfectly too. The owners were very friendly and the food was basic but tasty. We ate out some nights as we enjoy to do so anyway when on holiday. I...

We loved it!
from A TripAdvisor Member
Just back from 2 weeks at the hotel Club and after reading the reviews on this site we were planning to use the place just as a base to sleep. What a nice surprise then to find a spotlessly clean bright modern hotel. Our room although small, overlooked the pool and was spotless and newly refurbished. We knew that there would be no TV and that air con was chargeable so we took a small desk fan to use at night - it was perfect and it drowned out the church bells (you don't notice then after a few days anyway!) The bus stop was 30 seconds...
