Rock House Hotel

Just stayed 3 nights at the Rock Hotel Lynmouth, beautiful cosy hotel, food excellent, chef introduced himself and talked openly about his recipies which were fabulous......Staff very very courteous, rooms immaculate, and views outstanding, even though the weather was less than an English summer should be. We were able to take our little Bichon Frise dog and she was made very welcome, Lynmouth is really dog friendly, and dog lovers obviously do not abuse this, because Lynmouth is so clean. Wish that the rest of England was so English....

We have just come back from a 2 night stay in the Rock House Hotel in Lynmouth and stayed in room 4. It was by far the best located hotel in the town with a brillant view from the bedroom. It was lovely just to relax and watch the sea. Everyone in the hotel was very friendly. The room was very clean and could not fault it at all. Breakfast was lovely and you could have as much or as little as you wanted. Lynmouth was beautiful and I would definately go again and stay in the Rock House Hotel.

We have just had an overnight stay at the Rock house hotel and was pleasently suprised, we stopped in room 4 that had great views of the bay and estuary. Everywhere was clean and tidy and we were well looked after by the staff. Eat in the bar resturant and our meals were excellent and well priced compared to other bars around. A very good place to stay if you want a short stay in Lynmouth as you can park at the hotel and just wander around the village as you like, will go back again sometime. Steve & Pat

Stayed in this lovely little hotel (Room2 - great views) end of June after a recommendation and was very pleased. The setting must be the best in Lynmouth - out on its own overlooking the town, harbour and sea and joined to the main 'drag' by a small private footbridge. We ate in their restaurant one night and although we were the only ones there, the food was excellent and definately worth trying. The hotel is in a beautiful location right next to the River Lyn and by the Harbour. The bedroom was really comfortable and had everything we needed, fantastic view over the river Lyn to the harbour and the sound of the river at night was great. We booked the hotel because they were dog friendly and they were. We ate in the hotel a couple of nights the food was delicious and reasonably priced, our dog was able to lie by the table. The Rock House Hotel is an 8 bedroomed 4 star AA rated hotel situated on the River Lyn. We booked a 2 night stay to enable us to explore North Devon and we weren't disappointed. We asked for a specific room after viewing all the rooms on the hotel's website and was really pleased with it. We overlooked the end of the river and the harbour. Fantastic view. Our group of holidaying New Zealanders had a beaut time at the Rock House Hotel in May. The hosts were great fun, the location is tops ,there's a fine selection of food and drink and the rooms are very comfortable. Our host Adrian and his family and staff did a great job of making us feel at home. The beer is good and the garden bar is just the place to relax in the twilight with friends before dinner. we have been to the rock house on several occasions to put it mildly ..! always enjoyed the hotel, the rooms , the restaurant and the hospitality. the owners are very sociable and more than happy to have a drink with you in the evening. great setting and great hotel

The Rock House is a small 6/7 bed b&b/hotel which also is a pub with a beer garden, therefore very much open to the general public and kids. Stayed here 5 years ago, but has changed hands and on balance probably not for the better as it was much more private then aimed only at guests staying there. Good site by the harbour, food nice service average. Lynmouth & Exmoor National Park with it's Heritage Coastline deserve another visit as the scenery is simply beautiful, but we will probably find somewhere else to stay next time.

We booked a two-night stay solely on the hotel's web site and were a little nervous. Not to worry - the setting right at the harbour was wonderful and each room had a water view. We had all but one meal on tables in the lovely little garden and the location was excellent - a stroll over to the Manor Green for a golf putting outing and easy access to one of the many footpaths leading to the River Lyn and up into the moors with spectacular views of the ocean and picturesque villages below.
