Super hotel
We stayed here for 1 night on Saturday 13th August 2005 and really enjoyed ourselves and are sorry we didn't stay longer. We stayed in a twin room which although very small was nicely decorated and had all the mod cons. The whole hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. For tea would recommend the bar meals which are delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this hotel to anyone particularly when you have got Swallow Falls opposite.
Not great
My partner and I and two children camped here this August and were not impressed by our stay. The campsite was ok but not particularly well maintained, when we arrived on Saturday the communal bin was full and was not emptied until the following Tuesday, the campsite rules stated that dogs were only to be on the top level of the campsite but we were the only people on the lower level who didn't have a dog. No one came around to check that any of the rules were being complied with. Cars were supposed to be parked in the hotel car park but... more
enjoyable
after staying at the stables in betws y coed the night before, my husband and i booked into the swallow falls hotel. We were in a beautiful room overlooking the front of the building. It was spacious, clean, warm and considering it overlooked a very busy road, remarkably quiet. The staff were very polite and helpful. We would definatley return, but I must admit, i did not fancy the cottages or bunkhouses, was very glad to be in the main building. The breakfast was adequate. All in all a very enjoyable stay.
Very Good
Stayed at the hotel September 2004 and could not fault it. Very good clean room, excellent service and well cooked/presented breakfast with attentive staff. Will certainly stay again.
Great Place!
I'm really suprised by the last two reviews here, I stayed in the hotel and had a beautiful room with four poster bed, the food I had was good and not much of a wait, the staff were cheerful. Also on site are a camp site and a Youth Hostel so there was a good mix of people about, especially in the bar in the evening , nice fudge too!! I'd go back!
What a farce!
I booked two nights in this hotel for August 2004, and when we arrived we were given a wooden chalet rather than a hotel room. This was obviously not satisfactory, but other things made this an absolutely unbearable place to stay; the bathroom was dirty, not just in need of a once-over, but the kind of filthy that comes only from years of neglect and inadequate cleaning. The bed smelled stale and the sheets were stained, the walls had damp problems and the wallpaper was torn and tatty. The only usable power socket was behind the... more
Management response from A TripAdvisor Member

In response to ‘what a farce’. I was deeply disappointed to read the review from the couple who stayed over the August Bank Holiday and apologise for their miserable stay. However, I would like to correct some inaccuracies concerning their comments. The annexe cottage is built of Welsh stone with Welsh slate roof and is frequently requested. The room was not up to the standard of our other rooms and was looking a bit tired, however it was one of the last rooms to be renovated and refurbished. This work has now been completed and concludes the £250,000 upgrading and refurbishment programme that has taken place over the last 18 months. The couple paid £29.50 per person, per night, bed and breakfast. If the couple would like to stay in the main building we would happily give them a room free as a form of compensation, providing they looked into their previous room to see the transformation.

Average hotel in beautiful area
We paid 84GBP for a family room at this hotel. It was clean and comfortable. It seemed a little overpriced compared to the other hotels we stayed in our UK trip. The dinner was terrible but the breakfast included in the price was good.
Perfect
I stayed here with my partner over xmas holidays 2003 the welcome was warm and friendly and the staff were very hospitable. Although winter and not many people were around the atmosphere was a cheery one. The food was lovely and the surroundings beautiful,i believe they have just had a refurbishment and cant wait to return!
Quality
We stayed at several good hotels in north wales one of the best was Swallow Falls Hotel which the staff told me was formerly a coaching inn. It was full of charm. We only intended to stay for dinner but ended up staying the night. The Lamb was gorgeous and my partner enjoyed his chicken & mushroom type thing. The rooms were newly refurbished and really clean. We left after wolfing down a tasty welsh breakfast feeling refreshed & in high spirits. Great fudge aswell.
perfect
My partner and i went to swallow falls for my birthday in November so the weather was far from perfect but the hotel made up for any wet, windy morning. The hotel itself was beautiful with its oldy worldy settings and beautiful views. The food was very nice and plentiful and the beverages were cold. Even though the hotel is very old it was surprisingly warm and cosy. We had a fantastic time at Swallow falls and the surounding towns as there is plenty to see and plenty of shops to visit. My overall thoughts of Swallow falls is that its an... more
