New Years Eve
We have just got back from spending New Years Eve at Stanton Manor. The food was excellent and the staff were also excellent. The location of the hotel is perfect if you want to stay somewhere that is peaceful. We had a great time and would definitely go back again.
Highly recommend it :)
My partner and I recently fancied a weekend break away and the hotel is ideally situated; close to the M4 but quiet and cosy. The staff were helpful and friendly and the food was first class and wonderfully presented. The bedroom was spacious with a comfortable bed and stunning bathroom. The shower was divine! I would highly recommend this hotel as it is uniquely individual. My partner and I have already booked to come back in Summer!
Loved it!
My husband booked a romantic getaway package for my birthday so we could spend some time in Bath. We had a wonderful time at this hotel; the room was spacious and very comfortable, and the staff couldn't do enough for us. It was a lovely, intimate place and we were made to feel so welcome - we'll definitely return.
Fawlty Towers in the flesh
This was probably one of the worst hotels I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The staff were rude, slightly aggressive (when we voiced concerns over our incredibly small room/broken shower/side lamp that had obviously caught fire, but had been left in the room/a iron that didn't work/stained sheets the list goes on), and incredibly disorganised. In fairness, we did receive a discount on our room rate (after having to deal with two separate members of staff). Anyone who is considering a stay here should definately... more
Don't bother.
Having read previous reviews on Tripadvisor, I booked dinner, bed and breakfast for my husband and I at Stanton Manor one week in advance of our arrival in early August. When we checked in, we were told that there was a wedding going on that day and as a result the restaurant was full. Instead, we were told we could have dinner upstairs, which turned out to be on the first floor landing outside our bedroom door surrounded by boxes of furniture. Needless to say, this didn't quite match our expectations so we checked out explaining why and... more
Terrific service, but lacking in comfort
This country inn has an amazingly friendly and helpful staff. When we arrived, we were greeted with a warm welcome and were made to feel immediately at home; this general attitude was conveyed by all of the staff throughout our stay. The grounds are immaculate and the garden is lovely. The food was always freshly prepared and very tasty. Our room, however, was rather small, particularly for our family of four. It was also in need of some maintenance or at least a fresh coat of paint. Like many country inns in this region of England, the... more
a wonderful find
Due to a last minute decision we found ourselves in this wonderful hotel just off junction 17 on the M4. It wae supposed to be a stopover on the way to Oxford but it turned out to be much more than that. We had a most enjoyable evening in this old manor house with its immaculate decor and gardens. We were upgraded by the gracious owner to room 10, a family room, had a relaxing drink in the cosy bar before having a meal in the restaurant. The prices were reasonable. The staff were always friendly and corteous. We look forward to returning... more
Fantastic food and lovely staff
Stayed at the Stanton Manor for our anniversary. Very convenient location as just off J17 of M4 but in a very pretty village. Staff were all very pleasant and friendly. Room was really nice and overlooked garden. Food was fantastic and service was first class. We loved the fact that everyone was so friendly and helpful. Great place to relax for the weekend.
in a word.... Excellent !
My brother's wedding reception took place in Stanton Manor in July 2005, lots of relatives travelled over from Ireland for the wedding and stayed in the Hotel for the weekend. The food was excellent, the Service was excellent, Lee (Manager) and all his staff went above and byond the call of duty to make this one of the best weekends we have had. The Rooms are all based on an individual theme, and are beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable, the Gardens looked resplendent in the sunshine. The patio area is great and we had 3... more
Great service, oldy woldy but only 5 mins from Motorway
A very nice Cotswolds hotel just five minutes from junction 17 of the M4 and only 15 minutes to City of Bath. Far better than your average business traveller hotel and nice staff and food too. The gardens are spectacular and there's a lovely terrace for an evening drink. We were very pleased with the large rooms, new beds and TVs. The new proprieter Mr Davis is a very friendly host - highly recommended and so close to lots of sites eg Cotswolds, Bath, Badminton, Bowood House, Westonbirt Arboretum etc. Recommended !
