Marine Court Hotel

Excellent location for harbour end of town, parking good. Room was good size and clean, we found the rooms quite noisy at night though, could hear the guy in the next room snoring very loudly, that was through the walls and the cotton wool in my ears! Breakfast was excellent, and the owners very friendly and helpful.

This hotel has recently been redecorated so don't be put off by the reviews saying it was a bit shabby - as it certainly isn't anymore. The room we had was a double ensuite, which had everything you'd expect. A good shower, TV, fairly comfortable bed. The sinks in the bathroom were very small and awkward though - but that's a minor thing. Breakfast was excellent, and the service of the owners I really can't express. Stayed 2 nights at the Marine Court in early October. Owners Andy and Helen were extremely friendly and we felt this was a very welcoming, comfortable place to stay. Our room had recently been refurbished and was of excellent standard with a great sea/park view. The bed and pillows were really comfy as well. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and served at a sensible time for a holiday destination. The hotel is also located just a short walk from the pubs and restaurants of the harbour and high street. Highly recommended.

Marine Court is one of the best, if not the best, B&B that I've stayed in and received better service than many hotels visited either through work or holidays. The warm welcome from Helen and Andy makes you feel very at ease from the moment you arrive. A small hotel - where the friendly owners take great pride in offering excellent service. There is great attention given to detail - and some lovely touches such as bottled water and biscuits on the hospitality tray. Fresh flowers in the rooms and on the breakfast tables add to the welcoming atmosphere. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Thank you to the Golinskis.

Disappointing. Don't think hotel justifies 4 stars. Ok I suppose if you have a pet that you cannot bear to be parted from, they are allowed into the bedrooms! Hotel owners are very nice and friendly, but rooms could do with a bit of TLC.

Looking for somewhere to stay in Ilfracombe for a rip to Lundy I found the Marine Court on the local Tourist Information website. It looked to be a great location and a good price, so called the hotel and booked with the very friendly and pleasant Helen. "No Vacancies" was the sign that greeted us at Marine Court ..... but luckily we had booked! I was suprised to find a guest house in North Devon so busy in what would be considered "off season", but our hosts looked as though they were used to it. We stayed in a family suite consisting of a double room, a separate room for our 14 year old & en-suite facilities. We stayed at the Marine Court for 2 nights while visiting friends in the town. The hotel is well presented and the owner \ staff friendly and good value. The breakfast was freshly cooked and very tasty. The hotel has its own (free) car park and is opposite a very good pub (The Old Thatch Inn) which serves good quality, value bar food. The hotel is at the top of the main hill into the harbour or 5 mins walk on the level to the main shoppiong street. The views are nice over the bay and hills.

I stayed here for one night while travelling through devon. The people who run this place were so so nice and very accomadating. Our room was very charming and had a great shower which is hard to find in England. Great location as well. Very close walk to the waterfront which is incredibly beautiful.
