This has been our forth stay at Villa Lara, and I can’t imagine a year without it. The scenery is amazing and we have enjoyed some of the best made gin and tonics in the world, over looking the beautiful views of Amalfi. Having read the reviews of Villa Lara we decided to stay there for 4 nights in July. The staff are very welcoming and Nello is a real character. Offered to pick up our laundry from the lavanderia for us! Breakfast in the morning is quite a simple affair which you can eat on the terrace. There are lovely views down to Amalfi. Villa Lara is up the hill from town but that suited us to be away from the noise and the walk doesn't take long. We had a great meal in Eolo. Service and food was excellent. We have just returned from a stay at the Villa Lara in Amalfi. It is a delightful hotel which I would give 5 stars as long as you're looking for Bed & Breakfast and not more extensive facilities like pool/restaurants etc. The only downside I can think of is that it is a little walk down the hill to town and beach which may not suit some people. We have just returned from 5 nights at the lovely Villa Lara in Amalfi. As with other reviews, we thought the quiet location, beautiful room and in particular the friendly staff made this a really special time. On arrival Nello, the manager, invited us to unpack then enjoy a welcome drink on the balcony. It set the scene for the rest of our stay. My husband and I stayed at the Villa Lara for 4 nights in May 2005, having checked the reviews posted on this site in advance. I had phoned and spoken to the manager Nello in advance, and he was really helpful and accommodating, but not pushy at all. The website was also helpful in giving us accurate pictures of the hotel. The hotel was a few minutes walk from the shops/coast up a slight incline, but that was great because we were not in the heart of things but close enough to them. VILLA LARA, a Charming and Relaxing get -a- way. Last month we enjoyed three glorious days on the Amalfi coast. High above the tantalizing Mediterranean sits this lovely villa. On the patio each morning we were served a delicious Italian breakfast. We were hypnotized watching the cruise ships come into the azurian sea and all the people bustling around the town of Amalfi. We stayed at Villa Lara in Amalfi for 4 days in April 2005. It is a completely remodeled residence in a quiet location high on the hill in Amalfi with a beautiful view of the town, the mountains to the north and the ocean and cliffs in the distance. My girlfrind and I spent five nights in Villa Lara and had a magnificent time. What we loved about the inn: 1. Location: It is a 5-10 min walk into the town center. This is good 'cause you can get a good night's sleep with very little noise pollution. Don't stay in the town center 'cause it can get really noisy. Hotel Risidenza overlooks the bus terminal. I have just returned from one of the finest short breaks I have ever had. The gentle Italian sunshine was perfectly complimented with the Villas stunning views of the Almalfi coast and the hospitality of the owner, Nello was second to none. It’s a must!!
