Loved Provo
from grcboss
All in all my 19 year old daughter had a wonderful relaxing trip. Our room was decorated very nicely, it was modern and had every thing we needed, (nice tioiletries replenished every day). I thought we were going to have a oceanfront room like the ones I saw in the photos however, the studios are located on the ends of the buildings and are not really oceanfront. We did have a nice view but the balcony was small and faces sideways. Luckily our room faced the pool and the beach side. The employees in general are all so nice. On arrival...

Nice Relaxing Vacation
from Vaca4Ever
We just returned from a great time in Provo. We stayed at the Alexandra and the resort is lovely and just how we imagined through all the pictures. We were greeted at check-in with a rum punch and were allowed to check in several hours early. The grounds are very well kept and nicely landscaped and the beach and "beach bar" really made the trip. There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas on the beach which is nice...didn't get crowded until the end of our trip, but as long as you were out by 10 am, there wasn't a problem. There is...

Very Relaxing, Beautiful and clean
from angelNJ
We stayed in Alexandra’s beautiful Lady Rose building. Everything was very clean and spacious. We had magnificent ocean/beach views from bedroom and living room. Balcony was very spacious. It was very relaxing to sit in there. Yes, there was noise from Veranda construction in the morning from 8 AM -11:30 AM and then from 1 Pm – 4 PM. It bothered me little. However, I had quiet evenings, sunset and early morning in the balcony. During the construction noise, I was on the beach anyway. My daughter (9 yrs) got lots of friends to...

Perfectly relaxing and beautiful
from WindPowered
My wife and I went in search of some serious R&R; we both work long hours and had grown weary of the mid-Atlantic (US) winter. This 9-day trip was our first visit to TCI, and our first to the Caribbean/British West Indies, and we would return in a heartbeat. We managed to not do much besides eat, sleep, read, swim, snorkel, and walk on the beach, not necessarily in that order, for the entire trip, and it was exactly what we wanted. As you have undoubtedly read by now, the beach is quite spectacular, and we loved starting every morning...

Stay at The Palms Or Somerset!!
from Well-traveledAtlanta
This was our third time to Providenciales. We love it here! We travel a lot and it has the best beach!! Previously, we had stayed at the Ocean Club West. It is basic, but nice and clean. We wanted to try somewhere different so we stayed at the Alexandra. We should have spent the extra money it would have cost to stay at the Palms. We had booked a studio with a king bed we had a queen upon arrival. Then the room was not cleaned one day and the front desk apologized and said they could not get in touch with housekeeping. Finally, at...

Not yet ready for Prime Time
from Archigram
First of all we liv by these reviews and I think a lot comes from what kind of person you are and where you come from that you base what you write about. We are a couple of young designers on a budget that live in manhattan and don't really need constant service and people bringing us drinks on the beach. That being said the alexandra was perfect for us. Here is a few tips that help you along with your stay. We flew AA from Jfk to Provo. on a really old 757. We only had a red pen and not a black one so we were unable to complete...

Almost great....
from JMComerford
The Alexandra Resort is NOT a resort. It is a building full of time share condos. This is good and bad. The rooms were very clean and nice. They were a bit smaller than we thought and the kitchenette did not have a stove top - but cleanliness and modernization is important to me and this has it. We were in room #3107 which was a garden studio with a small view of the ocean. The bed was very comfortable. The TV is satellite so we saw news from NY and Erie, PA. The maid service is OK. They were good about somehow sweeping up all the sand...

It's not a resort or spa--its a condo.
from ShanaL
To begin, let's start at the name: it is the Alexandra Resort. There is no spa there. As for being a "resort", well that's a stretch. On-line the Alexandra bills its self as a Luxury Resort. Just having a restaurant, pool, and bar on property does not make it a luxury resort. The Alexandra has no room service, and won’t even get you ice when you ask. (We were told by the desk staff to take a cab to the local supermarket to buy ice.) While the room looks nice, and the beds are comfortable: it’s too bad we can't sleep past...

Our Most Favorite Island and Resort
from PLYk4TX9gB5
We just returned from the TCI and it was our most favorite island that we have visited in the Caribbean. We have enjoyed visiting the Caribbean islands for the past 20 years and have traveled to a different island each year. We have enjoyed diving in Aruba, Barbados, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Hawaii, St. Martin, Puerto Rico, Tortola, St. Thomas and St. Barts. But without question, we felt that the diving in the TCI islands was the best we have ever experienced. There were sea turtles, sharks, rays, and a wide array of fish and beautiful...

Back to St. John
from rcholden
My wife and I made a last minute 4 night get away to Prov, TCI in December 2006 and stayed at The Alexandra Resort. Short of it, will not go back. We've been spoiled having been to St. John numerous times over the past 5 years. The only reason we choose TCI was because they still had "low season" rates while the place we stay on St. John was higher season. But we ended up paying more for a "studio" room then what we got for a one bedroom condo during low season on St. John. Although nicely appointed and apparently somewhat "upscale", the...
