VIP Suites

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at! Dirty, grotty accomodations, bad bed and dirty rooms. The hot water ran out after a 5 minute shower and they refused to let us change rooms or refund our money for the rest of the stay. We saw so many other properties in Oia that were nicer, cheaper and really worth the stay. Granted these are "cave houses" they really need some renovations. This is not a nice hotel at all. The cats and dogs on our balcony (which the hotel claims is the first time someone complaines about them...) are sick and the rooms are not what you would expect for the price you are paying dirty and shabby(We stayed in Tountas). The people at the desk are also unhelpful and will not even refund your money or help you in any way. Do not stay here. A dog came and stole my sandal from the balcony and completely chewed it up. The hotel refused to compensate me, saying there is nothing they can do for us.... more

Have stayed here twice for holidays, and would definitely return. Location is great, being right in the centre of town I was upgraded to a honeymoon suite, and had lovely views on the volcano and hot springs. Airconditioning was adjustable and well powered, essential for the summer when it was hot. On my first trip, I was in a a one bedroom suite, and it was also spacious and well appointed. We arrived in Oia after spending three wonderful days in Perissa at the Meltemi Luxury Suites which was cheaper than VIP suites in Oia. We were very disappointed with the first room they gave us. Like other reviews there was virtually no shower...just a hose that drenched everything including the toilet. The room was extremely small with a narrow, steep wooden staircase up to the bed which was on the floor in the loft. There was also on three channels on the satelite TV none in English. I stayed at the villas in June, we were booked to stay for 4 nights but after the first night we requested to be moved to another hotel. The view was amazing, and apparently that is what you are paying for. I found the rooms to be dirty and shabby. The beds were'nt made there was just a pile of blankets and sheets so that you could make your own. When I'm paying top dollar for accomodation I expect at least the bed to be made. The furniture was shabby and had certainly seen better days the bed was like sleeping on a plank of wood.... more

We stayed at VIP suites for two nights in June 2005 and can only confirm what "July 13, 2005: A TripAdvisor Member, Sheffield, England" reports. The rooms are OK, but no air-conditioning albeit this was advertised. We stayed in the room "Perikles", which has a bathroom, where the toilette is in the shower, i.e. gets wet every time you shower. The apartment had quite some charm, but was definitely in need of some repair and cleaning. We paid 100 Euros per night. All in all: OK for a short stay.

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Honeymoon Suite (Hera). We booked a private transfer from the airport which is advisable due to the location of the apartments, although the car which we were picked up in was on it's last legs and couldn't cope with the (many) steep hills in Santorini! At one point we had to get out and push it! (We laughed it off at the time but this should have told us more about what was to come!) We stayed at a very nice appartement last summer (Castle # 2) It was so great, we had a big terrace with seaview. The apartement was clean and nice. One girl from Ecorama Holidays brought us to our apartement, she was really friendly and the service is realy good at their office. A guy, who also worked for the travel agency brought our luggage to our apartement. So we didn't had to carry our luggage by ourselves. We had such a nice view from our terrace... The castle (the best place in Oia to watch the sunset) is very close. Just walk up... more

My husband and I arrived to Santorini in July with another couple. After a long hectic winter we decided to take a vacation to relax. We arrived to the office of VIP Suites where the girls there checked us in and had a boy who worked there bring us and our luggage to our room. The name of the room we stayed in was Periklis. I loved the rooms that we had, they were located on each side of the accommodation upstairs by themselves. Each room had a window that looked out to the volcanoe. It was beautiful. We spent a night here because Oia Mare Villas, where we were staying for the rest of the week, was full for the first night. Owned and operated by the friendly Ecorama travel agency in the bus stop square in Oia. VIP Suites are located in the bottom half of a tiered, private complex near the so-called "castle" at the end of the main footpath in Oia. It is on the cliffside facing the caldera to the south, so there's an excellent view of the volcano island as well as Imerovigli and Fira along the caldera. However, you cannot see the sunset... more
