Hotel Principe di Villafranca

Rooms were very nice. The service however was not good enough for a 4 star hotel. I asked for a shirt to be ironed as i was going to the ballet and i was told there was no Iron in the Hotel. I was told i would have to walk to their laundry 3 streets away. I even offered to pay more and they still advised they could not do anything. We also ate in the restaurant and had the steak. Palermo is a very hectic city. Very crowded and busy. The Hotel Principe di Villa France is a quiet oasis in the midst of all the turmoil. Our room was very spacious with a king size bed and huge bathroom with jacuzzi. Once we figured out that you tell the desk to make the room cooler everything was perfect. The breakfast buffet is the best one that I have had in all of my travels -- excellent. The staff is most helpful to satisfy your every need. We spent 4 nights at the Principe Di Villafranca during our two weeks in Sicily. What a nice hotel this is. The rooms are spacious, clean and well furnished. The location of the hotel is perfect and within walking distance of many of the great sites in Palermo. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The rooms are quite small an the closet in the first room we got was so tiny that we could not even unpack a part of our suitcases. In the second room it was just slightly bigger. The AC was not really working and it was far too hot in the room. There was also construction work in the floor above us going on, but this floor is not part of the hotel so it is beyond their influence.. We spend one night with my wife in this hotel. We choosed it thanks to the recomandations read on Trip Advisor. We were pleased. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was a king size. The staff was attentive and the hotel is charming. More over it's well located with good restaurant in the neighborhood.

This hotel is located in a quiet residential area close to the historic area. The hotel is clean, but average when compared to other properties in Siciliy. We stayed 2 nights and we found the staff to be pleasant, who speak good English, but not that helpful with arranging tours or meals. Would recommend walking around and taking the red tour bus (inexpensive, but gives you a good layout of the city). Our room was an upgrade to a Superior Room, but nothing special. This hotel was unremarkable, similar ro hotels in Rome and many other European cities. The rooms were clean and fairly comfortable, and the hotel is located in a nice neighborhood. Here is the lowdown. The common area off the lobby was lovely. It was living room styled, with a computer that guests could use for Internet access (no room access). My wife and I stayed 5 nights in this delightful boutique hotel, located in a quiet section of the city but a short walk to shopping and restaurants. The double room with queen bed was nicely appointed. The public areas were very comfortable and beautifully furnished. We stayed one night at this hotel during a tour of sicily. Perhaps we were spoiled having just driven from Taormina and a stop in the beautiful Villa Belvedere. Boutique hotel this is not, as described by a previous reviewer. We were suprised after reviews and photos to find a large modern hotel. We had a wonderful stay here. We booked a suite, room 105 which was fabulous. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff were freindly and helpfu. We found the location to be perfect, a nice part of town and only a short stroll to the main streets. We would definately stay here again.
