Good Hotel !
We stayed for three day's in this charming hotel. We arrived much to late due to the fact that our boat ( from Holland to Scotland) was delayed because of technical problems. The owners were very friendly and helpfull. Our room was clean and well kept during our stay. We had a buffet-breakfast which we liked very much. The staff was correct and friendly, the only thing was that the Thai girls could improve their English. We dined two times at the hotel and the food was very good. The owner and his wife were very friendly to all the guests... more
Grim
We were a group of 6 friends travelling together and the hotel was booked following checking out the Scottish tourism site. Unfortunately the friend who made the booking had never heard of tripadvisor.com. The hotel is not in the centre of town and involves a fair uphill walk to get to it. It is not in the best state of repair, whilst in the bar, water leaked through the ceiling from rooms above and a bucket was quickly produced without fuss as if this was a normal occurence, many of the armchairs and settees in the lounge and bar are thread... more
Disappointing.
On the plus side - the room was clean and the bar and dining area have been recently refurbished to a high standard. Bad points - really poor quality sausages and bacon for breakfast - UNFORGIVABLE given the host of top quality butchers within walking distance of the hotel! The staff were not particularly welcoming or proactive in serving guests - a bit like wall flowers. Overall - I wish I'd booked the Poplars instead.

Awful place. At 6 months pregnant my partner and I arrived here and were greeted by a barking alsation. It was a good ten minutes after I rang the bell the second time before anyone came to the reception. I was allocated a tiny room with a cupboard as an en-suite which had a sliding door that didnt come near closing. The following morning when I went to pay for my room I discovered that they had taken the money off my account the day before. At breakfast I had to play a guessing game with the waitress who hadn't a clue what they had... more
Clean, Friendly but needs more staff!
We arrived at the Rosemount for a weekend break. The hotel is lovely and clean and our room had an excellent view. We were joined by a coach-load of travellers from Hull who were lovely people. However the only down-side is that the hotel have too few staff covering too many jobs. Granted they only recently took on another three staff from the Czech republic - the barperson who only started last night being one of them. Lovely guy but didnt know where anything was - it was quite funny really as all the guests at the bar had to tell him where... more
A nasty taste in my mouth, and smell!
This was a downwards spiral from the second we walked in. I was in the area for work and booked her for four days. The minute we walked in the door we were told how much the guy behind the desk hated his job in very broken english. That evening I accidently flooded my bath, Not a problem as i was prepared to pay for damages. I was told by the polish guy on the desk it would be hundreds and i was unable to see the damage. The morning after the incident, where house maids burst into my room whilst i was changing out of wet clothes, therefore... more
Nearly but not quite
Reviewer : An average holiday maker. I have just spent five days at the Rosemount Hotel, and being, what could be described as an older person, I appreciated the lack of noise at night. The hotel is a distance from the center of Pitlochry and as the name suggests, up a hill. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom, but could have done with being a bit larger. Breakfast was very good with porridge and a selection of cereals with bacon, eggs, and all the usual trimmings. The evening meal, whilst the food being nothing... more

Excellent food, very friendly staff. We will definitely come back here when we revisit this area.
Terrible Service
We went to Pitlochry for a night and were dissapointed with the service at the Rosemount Hotel. The room was ok but there was no soap in the bathroom as you would expect anywhere. We didn't bother with the food as it was well overpriced. The hotel bar shut at 11pm even to residents as we were told that it was "not feasible" to keep the bar open. The member of staff engaged us in a lengthy debate about this by which time he could have served us a drink. The excuse was that he could not afford to leave the lights in the bar on because it... more
Overbooked and inefficient service
We arrived for a stay on our anniversary and was told they were overbooked even though we had confirmation. They then tried to put us in a B&B and eventually after trying all hotels in the area booked us in a really nice place and paid the extra charges. Lot of time wasted unneccessarily. They had a dinner dance on in the evening and we went for the entertainment but this wasn't good at all. Full of apologies for inconvenience but this wasn't what we were expecting.
