Holiday Inn Express Dartford Bridge

Stayed here on business last week. Like all Express by Holiday Inn hotels, you get a clean contemporary room with plenty of space, a good shower room and a comfy bed. The hotel at Dartford is literally minutes from the QE2 Bridge, and provided an ideal base for my trip. What's great is the free breakfast, which can add £5-8 to the cost of a stay at other budget hotels.

Lets get some perspective it's really cheap, and really good value for what you pay. If you are expecting waiter service and people running round after you forget it, pay the money and stop moaning! Its clean, rooms are large and again clean, nice bathrooms nd there's even some tea and coffee. For the price this is a gem!

Great location if you want to stay outside London, or are making your way around the M25. Up to date rooms, and bar area where dinner is also available. Not too far from (10min drive) the huge retail parks at Dartford/Thurrock where there is plenty choice of restaurants. Some restaurants will deliver takeways to hotel, Akash Indian is a very good one. Price depends on how when/how you book, but generally using the Holiday Inn website you should get something for 70-80 pounds.

I stayed one night at the Express in Dartford, after reading the reviews on the standard of food I ordered a takeaway pizza which was delivered to the hotel. All in all the room was clean, there were no noisy residents and I had a great night sleep. Aircon is coming soon which is a must for the hotel at this time of year however fans were supplied in the room without the need to ask. I would stay here again, great location if you are working in the area.

Crowded / congested dining area & bar with poor overall service. Excessive wait for poor quality food.

I arrived at the hotel about 19.30 and no-one was on reception I waited several minutes which included staff coming out from the back room to answer the phone and then go straight back into the back room without even acknowledging my existence Eventually getting noticed and checked in (the room was of the usual HIE very good standard) I was informed that I could not order dinner till after 20.30 as there was a big party being served I went down for dinner at 20.30 and ordered the Lasange from the menu (the menu is extremely... more

Overall I think this hotel is fine for the travelling businessperson. The room was clean and well maintained. I had no trouble sleeping, though the noise from the Dartford Crossing in the morning should not be ignored. Prices at the bar seemed quite high, especially given the slow service. The prices took advantage of the lack of choices for visitors who were not prepared to walk the bleak business and housing estates nearby in search for alternatives. Overall, it was a very disappointing stay. The bar was very expensive, and no menus were on the tables for Dinner. When another guest asked for one from reception, they were told they would try and get one. Ten minutes later they asked again but still didn't get one.. In my opinion menus should be there for guests well before Dinner. Room was good though, except the shower floor was all cracked and dirty. The overall experience was pretty good, clean hotel and rooms, large family rooms available, nice shower. The FREE breakfast meant the hotel was very good value for money overall. Problems included noisy air conditioning in the room.

Ok I know Holiday Inn is a chain and fairly characterless at that but this hotel is conveniently situated and exactly what you expect from a budget chain. Clean and comfortable, staff were efficient. Views are not great particularly at the back of the hotel (an awful council estate), but it is Dartford.
