I just took a trip to P.V. with a group of college students from C.U. (I go to C.S.U.) and we stayed at the Los Arcos Hotel. We all read the reviews about the hotel and a little scared about what we were about to imbark on. Little did we know the hotels are just wonderful. I saw no bugs, and all the staff were very welcoming and helpful. This is definetly not the Hilton, but for what we paid I thought it was excellent. We have been going to this hotel, Los Arcos Vallarta, for approx. 8-9 times. We love it for the location, nearby restaurants and low-key atmosphere. We also love the pool which is located on the roof of this hotel. We do not, nor have we ever expected, this hotel to be anything but "basic." Over the years, we have always been treated fairly and our needs have mostly been met by the staff. We chose a cheaper hotel with the theory that we would not spend much time in the room so it wouldn't matter how nice the room was. Big mistake! In a city of extremely friendly people this hotel had a rude staff that dind't really seem to care about their customers. The beds were so hard that I felt like we were sleeping on the floor. I did not get a full night sleep once! The room they gave us had a view of the front lobby. We actually had reserved a room at Los Arcos Suites. We were told upon arrival that there was not space, but we would be at Los Arcos Hotel. The room was a mini-suite, with a kitchenette and bedroom. No balcony, but we looked out onto the courtyard and the bay. (The whales were jumping the first day there!) There were some minor issues, but that is Mexico. The room was clean, the staff were attentive. The location is great. Great resturants and bars right close to the hotel. Access to all the rated resturants is literally up the street.... more

Great hotels for families, Hotel is anti gay so changed location. Travel agent didn’t tell us the deal?

we have stayed at this hotel for the past 3 years. quiet, close to bars and eating places out on the main street. walk to the beach, shopping, bus, bakeries, entertainment. what more could you want????

We stayed 4 nights in the hotel booked through Expedia. When we arrived, they wanted $50 plus taxes EXTRA per night (the room rate is only about $65 per night!) since they said that the rate was for one rather than two persons. We showed them that the reservation clearly showed a rate basis of 2 adults, we asked the charge for a direct booking for extra persons (they said $7), but the receptionist continued to insist. My husband and I have had dinner at Maximilian, the restaurant on the ground floor of this hotel. The lobby is quite beautifwere going on their honeymoon to Puerto Vallarta needed a place, we recommended Los Arcos. What a mistake. Though the hotel knew this was a honeymoon couple, when they arrived they were given a filthy room without so much as a congratulations sign. When they complained, management did everything possible to keep them in the pigsty and when they finally moved them, the room they were given was just slightly better.... more

This Hotel had to be one of the worse hotels my wife and I have ever stayed at . First problem the rooms are to small , and the room that we requested and paid for was not the room they tried to put us in. Then they wanted to charge us $15.00 usd per day to up grade to the room we had pre-paid for. next paint peeling off the walls, (remember they use lead paint) not good for children. food is rated the worse . need to go someplace that cares about its customers. los arcos vallarta is a nice hotel- the staff was very helpful and friendly. the location is great and you are able to use all of the amenities at the sister hotel, playa los arcos (i.e. beach towels, beach chairs, pool). our room was small, but comfortable. nice balcony, though, with lots of flowers. it could be kinda of noisy on the street at night outside of our window. the rooftop pool was pretty with plenty of chairs, and there are some wonderful restaurants right around the hotel. our favorites were angelo's and the pacifica... more
