Waste of money
We took this place based on a recommendation of their website the Week of August 26- September 2, I took my family of 5, and 3 friends. We stayed in Unit # 19 garden, we requested a ocean front and were told we could just request a ocean front when we arrived. We did and that's were the fun stopped! They told us to upgrade they needed an additional $ 300.00. Ice and Bottle water were extra, maid service was an additional $ 82.50 per DAY! The unit was WORN, the carepting was old and ripped, the stove back left burner shorted out... more
Beautiful!!!!
We just got back from our first time in the Bahamas and stayed at Guanahani Village. We had an OceanView Villa that faced the pool and ocean. It was just beautiful!! The villa was so spacious. There was a living room and kitchen on the first floor and a patio that looks out to the ocean. Then with the master bedroom & second bedroom on the second floor and a third bedroom w/twin beds and a sundeck on the third floor. Each bedroom has its own bathroom too!Just right for our family. With enough beds and space for everyone. You can take... more
Great for families
Went to Guanahani with my husband and kids and we had a really great time. The townhouse was a little time worn, but very spacious and really well set up. The grounds were really pretty. We stayed in Unit 33 and if I could make a recommendation, try to avoid units 29 and up if possible. They back on to West Bay street and it is very noisy at night. It had a fully equipped kitchen and the dishwasher and washer/dryer were very handy. My kids range in age from 3 up to 16 and all of them were really happy with our holiday. It was really... more
Great Guanahani
This resort is off the beaten track, but very convenient to the buses. The bus drivers will stop almost anywhere on their route to pick you up when you are not in the city. There, they only stop at the bus stops because it's so crowded. We were glad to be away from the center of town. A supermarket is within walking distance that has great prices. Do not spend the time and extra fare to go to the market further away. They have comparable prices, although it is quite expensive, but better than eating out every night. Our 3 bedroom... more
Guanahani Village- Pros and Cons
We stayed here in May 2005. The Guanahani Village is a timeshare and has its pros and cons. Pros – The place is very large. We had a garden view which has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths spread across 3 floors. It has a full size kitchen with everything you need, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, and even a washer and dryer. The time share comes with 2 TV’s. There is a privet patio where you can sit out and bar-b-que. Cons – It is a little far off the beaten path. We went with a young child and did not rent a car. If you want to walk... more
Practically grew up here.
I love this place. It's true that it's age is starting to show, but I still love it. I have been here about ten times and have some hints to a better vacation. 1) Upgrade to an oceanfront condo. It's worth it. The units are much bigger and the two HUGE terraces overlook the ocean. There isn't even a comparison in my book. (I've stayed in both). I would pay double just to upgrade. The units on the ends are the best not only for the view but they have a little extra outdoor space. 2) If you like tennis, bring your own... more
Great place to stay in Cable Beach
My family (me, my husband and two teenagers) just returned home after spending a week at Guanahani Village. We were very happy with our decision to stay there. Rates were probably the most affordable on Cable Beach. REALLY affordable for us -- as a military family, we are fortunate to have the "Armed Forces Vacation Club" (which is administered by RCI), so we booked through them. I think the most important decision you have to make before staying here is 1.) Do you want to stay in a resort with lots of activity or 2.) Do you want to... more
Worn, but still lovely
We own a timeshare at Harbourside ( Atlantis's over-the-top luxury condos) and Guanahani is VERY different, but it really is a great place to stay and enjoy...the pros: large roomy LR and small but adequate full kitchen and dining room for 6, 2 balconies and a fenced in courtyard w/bar-b-q grill, washer and dryer (a MUST for families like mine ), a king bed and 4 more twin beds in 3 total BRs, 3 1/2 baths, quiet, right there on the nice clean beach with INCREDIBLY beautiful water and soft white sand ( always my favorite part of the trip ),... more
A 'Must See' Visit
My friends and I went there and found the people very helpful and friendly. The Village was so nice and clean and comfortable that I decided to buy a time-share there. The rates were more than compatible to other places around and accommodations were far more than we have ever had with any other time-share. My friends that joined me on this vacation were equally impressed and will consider a time-share in the near future when it is more convenient for them to do so. I highly recommend this Village if you want a wonderful place to stay and be... more
Guanahani Village
If you stay here, reconfirm your reservations. We made reservations in April for a unit in Aug. When we called to confirm, they had no record of us even though we had sent a deposit. When my daughter arrived late,(we had left her key at the gatehouse) there was no one to be found. After wandering around in the pouring rain for 30 minutes she finally found the gauard who let them into their unit. Then the crowning blow! The air conditioning was broken and the upstairs was at least 100 degrees. They finally moved them to another unit, fixed the... more
