Cotswold Grange Hotel

We stayed one night to visit family. We had mentioned Trip Advisor in our booking in the hope we would be well looked after, but found we were allocated a room (17) at the top of the building up many stairs. I guess you have to arrive earlier/stay longer to get the better rooms though all are charged at the same price. Our room was very cramped (eg too small for a bedside table on one side, leading to us spilling tea - sorry). After reading earlier reviews of this hotel, we were encouraged to book a short stay. It wasn't exactly bad, well nothing was bad, but it could be so much better. The hotel is very well situated in a quiet street in the town with good car parking. It is a typical Cheltenham regency style building. Our reception was low key but became a bit more strained when we asked for some non-too-difficult additions. We spent one night in this great hotel. The service was friendly and courteous. Our bedroom at the top floor was nicely decorated and clean. We enjoyed the English breakfast. A good address for a stay in the Costwolds.

Stayed here on our way to Bournemouth for just 1 night when we arrived we checked in for a single and a double room and the receptionist was kind enough to say the single was down in the basement but that there was another single upstairs available if we wanted it, which we decided to take. the rooms were adequate, comfortable and clean. stayed in the hotel for dinner, it was excellent as was the breakfast the next morning. all in all a nice comfortable hotel

Stayed 9 nights in this gem of a hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, which really made a difference to our stay. There were 17 of us in our cricket-playing tour party, and we would usually return post-match at the hotel late at night. Nonetheless, the bar was open, and that allowed the post-match celebrations to continue. Breakfasts and dinner were all cooked to order, and nothing was too much to ask for. Stay here if you want good service in a friendly atmosphere.

I stayed in this hotel for four weeks whilst on a course. The outside of the hotel is grand indeed and the inside is disappointing in comparison. However the hotel has recently been taken over by a young couple who slowly but surely are turning this neglected property into something more stylish. Located along a leafy avenue, the hotel is quite basic, but there is evidence of gradual refurbishment (our bathroom seemed very new, though the bedroom was more dated). However the staff were very friendly and helpful in guiding us to somewhere for dinner and general local directions. They offered to make sandwiches for us before we went to the wedding. I recently stayed at this hotel for a friends wedding. It is set in a lovely location, close to the centre of Cheltenham. Although the decor is a little dated, the hotel was beautifully clean and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast, which is included in the price, was delicious - with a large selection available and generous portions.

Helpful staff, great breakfast but room in need of a little modernisation. Ok overall but £90 is way too much for a 2star palce like this.
