Priory Lodge Hotel

We have just returned from a Holiday to the Priory Lodge Hotel. We came with some friends who were visiting Newquay for the first time [ on our recommendation] On arrival the staff were very warm and friendly and on taking us to our rooms which had really good views across the sea we found the rooms to be really clean and well presented, clean towels and rooms cleaned every day. An efficient, effective, homely and professionally run establishment. Anything I could have wished for was provided in abundance. The Bed Rooms, Sitting room, Dining and Bar areas were comfortable and attractive, and the staff most courteous and very apparently happy in their work. Newquays best kept secret, the Priory Lodge, is without doubt the best run Hotel I have come across. Whatever your expectations are, this friendly Hotel retains a charm of its own which once you have discovered it for yourself will draw you time and time again to its prime location. The rooms were spacious but most importantly very clean, the food was terrific, quality and quantity (if requested) and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was matched to the group and everyone seemed happy and relaxed. Did not have time for the jacuzzi but perhaps next time. We discovered The Priory Lodge two years ago and are shortly to return for the fifth time. That says everything. We've been in better rooms (just) and seen more modern Hotel interiors in general, but it is what it is and somehow it all adds up to a great place. The food is well above average and everything is clean. The Chicken-man is a 'must not miss'', especially the dance with Fiona, ohaarrr- ohaarrr. We have spent many a happy holiday at The Priory Lodge and my husband, myself and our two children are never disappointed (infact we have just booked for this October!). The food is superb, the fresh fruit salad goes down really well with our little girl - cannot be faulted. Rooms are non smoking (fantastic). Great swimming pool. Wonderful spa bath. Excellent entertainment. Located in a superb position. Close enough to town - yet far enough! Once visited never forgotten. A true jewel of a hotel. Thank you Fiona and Judith!

A delightful small hotel, super friendly, very comfortable, great food and entertainment, enjoyed 3 very pleasant nights, nothing was too much trouble, lovely staff. George Gallocker, Woodley, Reading.

Stayed here for 2 nights after abandoning the Sutherland over the road, what a difference. This place is like a proper hotel not a hostel. Very friendly staff, good breakfast with a nice view over Newquay in the restaurant, the rooms were clean and comfortable but could do with updating a bit and it was well priced.

My partner and I have stayed at this hotel a few times now. The last time was Easter 2005. The hotel owner and staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts are really nice with lots of choices(we did not have evening meals). The hotel has a bar, pool table, outdoor pool and a sauna. The rooms are not that modern but very clean and tidy. There is also a large car park at the front. We had a very enjoyable holiday. The only down side is you have to go up and down a fairly steep road to get to centre but it is only a few minutes... more
