Auberge du Manoir

We just spent a weekend in Chamonix at Auberge du Manoir. It's very well located, right at the entrance of the center of town and next door to the 4 star hotel Albert 1er. The hotel has been completely renovated about a year ago so everything is sparkling new and clean. The rooms and public areas, including the outside of the house, are meticulously cared for and tastefully decorated. A charming hotel that was recommended to us by a family and would highly recommend to everybody else. The owners were charming and made us feel very welcome. The room was equally charming and comfortable! Breakfast was fantastic, well worth it in value and a good wholesome start to the the day. The location was within easy walking distance to the centre of Chamonix and restaurants.

First-rate! A small hotel packed with charm, recently renovated to a high standard with superb attention to detail. Beautiful views of the Mont Blanc massif and five minutes walk from the centre. Do try the breakfast which is excellent, both as to choice and quality. The owners are a delight.

We really liked the Auberge du Manoir. It has been recently renovated, our room was immaculately clean with a comfortable bed and the bathroom had a good shower and nice toiletries. The hotel is decorated in a traditional yet stylish way with lots of vintage photos of Chamonix and winter sports. Everthing seems to be done with care, including the lovely homemade cakes at breakfast. About 5 minutes walk to the centre of town. Highly recommended.

Whilst the euro isn't great at the moment, hence everything seems more expensive Auberge du Manoir was great. Very clean, spacious rooms, really lovely owners and perfect for our stay. Breakfast expensive, but a great pattiserie literally a minute away and the bar at the end of the side street to the hotel does great coffees in the morning. Very french!

Me and my 10 yr old stayed here for 3 nights in April. It was perfect for us and my son really didn't want to leave. Chamonix is really beautiful so waking up to amazing views is priceless. The style of the hotel suited the location, even down to the heart shaped wooden keyrings. The breakfast room was lovely too and the games room kept my son entertained. The lady was quite abrupt with us sometimes but her husband and dog were always very friendly!

Everything about the Hotel Auberge du Manoir—from the owners to the ambience to the convenient location—made for a pleasing stay in Chamonix. Chamonix is a popular starting point for hikers doing the Tour du Mont Blanc, and that's how I came to stay at the Auberge du Manoir. Good location and amazingly clean hotel! Rooms are very small...do not get rm no 18 as it is like a loft room with a sloping ceiling and a tiny window! We asked to be moved after 1 night. We were given a slightly bigger room (No 22) with a balcony and fantastic views...priceless! The room and bathroom are small but everything is new. The bathroom was spotless and the bedding new.The newness of the fixtures and cleaning would put a 5* to shame. We were looking for a central hotel so that we did not have to drive out in the evenings. We had a superb view of Mont Blanc from our bedroom - one could lie in bed and see it. The food was very, very good indeed - we paid for half board and this was really worth it. The staff were very friendly and efficient and had a welcoming manner. We could easily go back there again. Good value, clean bathroom, skip the breakfast if you have to pay for it. Close to restaurants and shops. If you are going to the ski areas, it's 12 km to La Tour.
