Casa Morgano

Unfortunately me and my wife Geltrude have been in this hotel, which I though to be very nice. This is a part of the resort Morgano, made up by Casa Morgano and Scalinatella.  At the Casa Morgano we spent 4 nights, while at the Scalinatella 2. Unfortunately there  we had the same problems. We arrived at the casa morgano on the 24th of September 2005 and were immediately impressed by the graciousness of the host at the front desk, the lovely expansive views and charming rooms (we were in room 205). Lunch by the pool was terrific, albeit expensive but worth it. BUT........ we awoke during the night to find ourselves covered in bites. We searched the bed and found small black fleas in the sheets. After staying 3 nights at a 13th century watch tower in Positano, (cool but rustic) my husband and i were more than ready for the luxury of Casa Morgana. The room was huge with a spectacular view of the sea, two giant bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi, fresh towels, bathrobes and terry slippers. The staff was extremely attentive and the poolside luncheon was delicious. We liked it so much we decided to stay another night and were told we would have to move to another room which was even larger but we paid the same price as the previous room.... more

My wife and I stayed there for about 5 nights. Had breakfast at our terrace each moring, at no charge. Staff was very nice. Pool was great and the location was perfect, just a few step to everything and the views from the entire hotel are absolutely the best. Worth the $$$

Stayed at Casa Morgano June 2003 in room 303 with very large terrace overlooking the hillside and sea. Staff was the BEST, breakfast brought to our room within minutes of our phoning, lunch by the pool was delicious, room is large, I can not say enough good about this hotel. Staff arrange private boat trip around the island as well as our transportation from Naples airport to hotel via ferry.

Wonderful hotel. We paid 230EU a night (off-season) and we were not disappointed. The room was lovely with a large balcony and an excellent view of the ocean and cliffs of Mount Solaris. The staff was exceptionally helpful, professional and courteous. The only downside/complaint we had was the walls are (as a previous reviewer mentioned) too thin. One morning our neighbors got up at 5am to catch the early ferry out and we could hear everything they said and did. That said, still loved this hotel. We would definitely go back. PS Try... more

We spend 4 wonderful nights at the Casa Morgano in early Oct. and recommend it highly if you are looking for a small (20 or so rooms) charming hotel with a very attentive staff. The only drawbacks are the small swimming pool (though we spent our time swimming at the great beach club La Fontinella) and the thin walls between rooms which luckily only posed a problem for us one night. Casa Morgano is the perfect retreat. Spacious rooms, gracious staff, wonderful location (just a few minutes from town, but quiet and unhurried and beautiful views). The food at the poolside restaurant (lunch only) is excellent, and easily the best meals I had in Italy. It is hard to think of anything I'd like to see change. The staff is, without exception, more interested in you having a good time and eating perfect meals and seeing the sites than anything else. What an overrated place! We stayed here becuase we thought the boutique-y feel of 27 room Casa Morgano would be nicer than the much larger Hotel Quisisano or Scalinatella, both of which are also owned by the Morgano family. Suffice it to say that the hotel is underwhelming- do not be fooled by the gorgeous brochure and web site. The swimming pool is tiny and has to be reached through a maze of stairs in a very hard-to-get location and has little or no view of the ocean. Get ready for gorgeous rooms, stunning views and highly attentive service. Our lunch prepared poolside of pasta with squash blossoms was the best we had throughout our two week trip to Italy. The rooms are very comfortable, immaculate and very private. The hotel structure cascades down a hill side surrounded by flowers. The location is fantastic. You feel like you are in a residential part of Capri although you are just off the main square. It's very private and luxurious. The morning breakfasts are unique and delicious.
